  1. On the Captains Audio Control Panel (on the pedestal), push the Receiver switch corresponding to the NAV1 or NAV2 radio. You wil hear the morse code after a few seconds.
  2. Just look at the TAF (Terminal Aerodrome Forecast) to see the forecasted winds at your arrival airport. For hops around the States or Europe, this should be fairly accurate. But when there are multiple runways matching the wind direction, it will still require a bit of guessing... Hope it helps
  3. I use Vroute (free version) with the latest AIRAC to search for routes. After I find the route I need, I'll fire up FSCommander to build the route and flightplan including SID/STAR/TRANS. When I'm done, I"l save it to the PMDG format and folder. CO ROUTE page with the NGX works perfect... If you do not own FSC9, you will have to enter the routes manually into the FMX...
  4. I have already used the Alternate Dests page and I've seen the Nearest Airport page. So, yes, they are there
  5. They have announced the 600/700 expansion, ER expansion, BBJ expansion and the Mil. P8 expansion for the 737NGX. And after that they will develop the Boeing 777 (which models are not known) and the Dash8 turboprop. There are also 2 secret projects... Time (or rather PMDG) will tell...
  6. I'm still using Hotfix 1 with the Dome Light Fix and everything is works fine!
  7. We all know the product from PMDG is called PMDG 737NGX, which represets the Boeing 737NG and it's variants. The title '737NG' is a Boeing Trademark, but is the title '737NGX' also a PMDG trademark? Is it a product name that belongs to PMDG and the NGX only? I ask this because I see more and more people calling other 737's for FS '737 NGX'. Also, there are a lot of people using this title to express the airplane they fly. For example, they rever to the Boeing 737NG as the Boeing 737NGX. Others are starting to call their 'iFly', the iFly 737 NGX. This is wrong because the iFly is called 'iFly 737NG for FSX'... So, is the product title 737NGX a PMDG trademark which only aplies to the PMDG 737NGX?
  8. During the approach I saw Main tank 1 - 1000 LBS and Main tank 2 - 1000 LBS on the fuel gauges. After I vacated I saw I had Tank 1 - 700 LBS and Tank 2 - 700 LBS left. Couldn't afford a go around
  9. Well, I didn't follow the ETOPS procedures because I do not have the knowledge to to use ETOPS (I did have a second battery installed). As you can read from the first post in this topic, the original plan for the PH-BCB delivery flight was to make a fuel stop at Glasgow (EGPF). Fuel stops at EGPF or BIKF are fairly normal for delivery flights from KLM of Transavia. The real PH-BCB flight was lucky to have good wind conditions, so they had enough fuel to get a reclearence to EHAM. Before I started the flight today, I checked the winds along the route and to my surprise the forecast was good. I decided to give it a go and to be save I programmed a fuel stop at BIKF or EGPF. I loaded her up with 100% fuel, emptied the cargo and PAX and used CI 8. I also didn't use the APU at all and performed a derated thrust take-off and followed the ECON Vnav profile. So, with the right conditions, 100% fuel and a emty aircraft it is doable...
  10. Just completed the flight. Almost 10 hours flight time and I used the whole fuel capacity. After landing on RWY 18R at EHAM (TOPA2A Star, SUGO3B transition) I had 700 LBS in Main tank 1 and 700 LBS in Main tank 2 left. Close call, but the VNAV/LNAV predictions and paths were spot on (Thanks, Dr. Vaos)! After I vacated the runway i tried to taxi to Schiphol-East (M72 stand) but I had to park the PH-BCB halfway on a buffer because my engines were about to shut down. I just shut the engines down and refueled here again with a few 1000 pounds of fuel to deliver her at the KLM hanger. With the right conditions and a bit of luck, I successfully completed the flight. Let's put my virtual PH-BCB into service ASAP and hop around Europe
  11. Just got back from vacation last Friday. I bought the NGX while I was away and installed it when I got back. Spent the weekend setting things up, testing things and performing a few test flights. I also customized the KLM 800WL paint (by PMDG) to match the PH-BCB (for own use only). Tomorrow I will simulate the shuttle flight the real PH-BCB performed a few months back. Already completed a FMC preflight for this flight to test and make sure I'll make it... Wish me luck
  12. Support by PMDG is normally online given via the PMDG Support Portal and I assume Ryan and Paul check the order and customer detail before they give support... (I do not have any experience with PMDG Support as the 737NGX is my first PMDG product and I have not had any issues with it) BTW I really hope PMDG will deal with the pirates
  13. I would love to see an option to customize the amount of seats on board...
  14. Happy Birthday, Robert! Please, celebrate this day with your family and friends and let PMDG and the NGX rest for a day (or two if you count for the hangover...)
  15. You've just made my day! Awesome pic.(offcourse, a NGX release will be better, but...)
  16. PMDG, thanks for doing the Boeing "green bare metal coating" livery!
  17. Will we be able to modify a tail number (registration) of an airplane painted by PMDG? So say I will use the KLM 800WL will I be able to easily change the reg.? For example, if PMDG pained the PH-BXH and I want to fly the PH-BCB, can I easily modify the paint and the configs?
  18. Earlier, you guys where talking about the fictional BA livery. Well, the BA B738 livery is not fictional. Look a this: The G-OXLA flew for BA (for a while) but is was owned by another airline...
  19. Could you please consider the 'bare metal coating livery' from when they roll out of the factory hangar?
  20. I'm currently enjoying a 3-week vacation in France. I will be back on the 12th of august, almost 2 weeks post-release. Wish me luck surviving those day's with only a netbook to connect to the internet...Good luck with the release, PMDG!
  21. He is using the 'Float Camera Mode' of the VC and Aircraft camera's. (I expect with a couple of custom settings).
  22. That's a side effect of using EZCA for your middle mouse button to pan around. You can mute the EZCA process in your Windows Sound mixer (in the taskbar). All the annoying sounds produced my EZCA will be gone!I use it myself...
