Flights website states they're looking for a beta manager and website manager to crank up the community connection and the website content. Whats not to get?
-
Exactly, the assumptions and conclusions that are being drawn here are unbelievable. Some are saying 'good job Microsoft' like Microsoft have actually drawn conclusions themselves already when all they've done is sit tight and been honest that there is a Beta to come and they need a community manager. Incredible. Its in alpha - give them a break already. Microsoft have given us insight that a superior version is due, its not in beta yet and they want a community manager to improve communications lines and improve their website. In other words hold tight and the shiny stuff will come soon! Why don't some people get this? Its not difficult to comprehend.

Microsoft Flight - The Living World....

Yeah - this is why my original post mentions that...... "I don't wish this thread to explode into a debate about Flight turning into a world simulator" I'm interested in where Microsoft will draw the line on including 'living world' additions as they did in FSX on the basis they've made the airports in Flight look absolutely amazing. The detail in the roof alone is excellent. -

What can you say about the system requirements?

Microsoft Flight - The Living World....

I agree, it looks absolutely superb. For me this screenshot has been the most impressive, I literally said WOW when it appeared on my screen for the first time. Its going to be very interesting to see if scenes like these will flourish with living world objects and at what level they'll push the boundaries / draw a line. For example we now have swaying trees and I guess the swaying trees silhouettes will move on the side of the battleship screenshot much like the real-time shadowing in the cockpit. I am so excited for this release, the detail is incredible. -

"Best things for later" - I am sure you are right particularly at this early stage. Now that we have perfectly designed air conditioning systems on the roofs of the airports I wonder if we'll have this attention to detail in the birds, vehicles and passengers. -
Dead grey world: The car park is empty, there are no vehicles on the roads and of course there are no people. I don't wish this thread to explode into a debate about Flight turning into a world simulator, for performance reasons this can't happen. But since the latest news update hints at a mission carrying passengers do we think the car lots and passenger terminals at these newly designed beautiful airports will fill up even more so than FSX?. Assuming Flight software is being designed for the wonders of multiple cores I wonder if we shall finally see passengers boarding the plane in this release now that CPU loads can handle it? We should at least assume that Microsoft will throw all the 'living world' species, boats and traffic from FSX back into Flight right?

Are you waiting on Flights release before you buy a new PC?
poplar replied to poplar's topic in Microsoft FLIGHT Archive
Yep going to talk a walk on the wild side. A guy at work custom builds the PCs so will prob take that route next time! -

My last x3 FS PCs over the past 10 years have been Dells simply because i wanted stability backed up by a warranty. No fun i know. Ivy Bridge in April 2012 will be my aim. If Flight releases before then the temptation to go Sandy Bridge instead will be difficult. -
I am. Are you? If so where are Intel at with their latest chipset release? What motherboard / processor are you looking at? Obviously i'm going to try and get the best performance for my budget at the time of Flights release in 2011 / 2012. Will we be beyond the i3, i5, i7 stage by then and onto something new from Intel?

Ah in the good old days Microsoft Flight Sim used to get Microsoft Support articles of its own - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179122 -
Hope so. Good find. Its such a shame we have to deal with scraps of information. I know we've all discussed how Microsoft have treated the marketing of Flight but when you see Forza being blogged about in every detail here it just makes me sad. I remember the days of us getting a few videos of FSX when Hal and others would head up to Boeing Field to record sound bites etc and be really excited about re-creating sounds in Flight Sim. *sigh* - those were the pre-recession days.....

Excuse my complete ignorance and stupidity but for the rest of us clueless what does this mean 'imagine flight simulator' ?

Exact same chat already been had here about this background image / cloud shadows - http://forum.avsim.n...-cloud-shadows/ Personally though I think that because they are showing a thick layer of 'overcast haze' here that beneath or in that haze it'll be shadowed or at least duller if that makes sense:

ANZ121 I know where you are coming from, but this isn't a regulated group ageing with experience. 10 year old kids become 20 year old adults, but that doesn't stop the next generation of 10 year old kids joining in let alone the non-english speakers occasionally phrasing things differently making it sound as if they're being opinionated. I know what you mean overall though............
