  1. I've found that there seems to be some issues when saved scenarios are used. I usually will complete a flight, secure the aircraft and then save the flight so that I can start the next leg from where I left off. With the 777 though any time I start from my saved flight issues can crop up. Sounds might not play or eicas messages wont go away etc. The solution is to set up the flight from scratch. The issues go away. I'm sure PMDG is aware of this.
  2. If you decide to buy a yoke at some point spend the extra money to get the Hall sensors...
  3. I have the PFC throttle quadrant...It is awesome. They are USB and do not have their own driver. Yes you can use FSUIPC and I recommend doing so. It's really nice to have 2 (or 3 or 4) throttle levers. They are very smooth and tiny adjusments are easy to make. I bought the twin engine piston throttles (they are interchangable) with the toga button on the lever. Toga button is not really necessary because there is a toga button on the console but more realistic. Also nice to have gear and flap levers too. If you really want to change your FSX experience get the yoke too if you don't already have it. Both the yoke and the throttles will totally transform your PMDG experience.
  4. No the ,*-1 reverses the axis of the throttles...Push your throttles forward and the sims throttles come toward you and vice versa without it. Haven't seen any discussions yet about getting reverse thrust with 777.
  5. 777 is a great airplane and I like doing the long hauls (takeoff before bed, land in the morning) but the airplane is so automated that after flying the NGX for so long there seems like there's nothing to do.
  6. Having an issue lately where ATC is issuing commands in the wrong order. For example I will get no instructions to taxi into position and hold. I'll then taxi onto the runway anyway and after him yelling at me he will clear me for takeoff. As I start the roll, he'll then clear me into position and hold. Reinstall perhaps?
  7. I too was able to solve my throttle issue. I first deleted my FSUIPC.ini file. Too much garbage to deal with...starting with a new file assures that there is no calibration data anywhere in the file to muddle things up. I then assigned my throttle axis to "Direct to FSX Axis" option not the "Send to Calibration" option. I think the latter option with the additonal manipulation mentioned above is not necessary. I did not assign any other axes at this point so that it would be easy to find the proper axes in the FUIPC.ini file. They should be at the very end. At this point the throttles moved properly but were reversed (I have a PFC throttle quadrant). After a bit of research at Pete Dowson's forum I found that adding to following to the end of throttle axis lines in the ini file reverse the axes: ,*-1. (Not the period). This means that settings in the line are multiplied by -1. FSX then needed to be restarted for the reversal to take effect. After completing the above I was delighted to find that the throttles functioned as they should (with the autothrottle switches left in the on position). I then assigned to rest of the axes the same way..."Direct to FSX Axis" and then my various button controls etc. I now have no calibration info at all in my FSUIPC.ini file which i guess is the way it needs to be for the PMDG stuff. This will also fix some issues in the NGX too that you may not have even noticed such as the throttles not going to complete idle during a vnav descent when they need to. Thank you to all that pointed me in the right direction!!
  8. Delete the file again. Assign the throttles "Direct to FSX axis" not "send to calibration"...Throttle 1 and 2 AXIS set (if you have separate throttles), not Throttle set. Don't assign any other axes yet. This makes it easier to find which axes in the ini file are for the throttles. Find the axis assignments in the ini file if you have to reverse the throttle axis. They should be at the very end. If you do need to reverse the axis add the following to the end of the axis line in the ini file... ,*-1. (Not the period). Now you can assign the rest of the axes, buttons etc. You must restart FSX for the reversal of the axes to take effect. The problem seems to lie with any calibration info at all in the FSUIPC.ini file. The above setup doesn't allow for any calibration info to muddle the works.
  9. Thanks for the reply. I'll fool around a bit and see what I can come up with...
  10. I"ve tried this but my throttles ,PFC Throttle Quad, need to have the reverse axis button checked. Is there a way to reverse the axis without using the calibration window?
  11. This seems to work but the problem I have is that my throttle axis (PFC Throttle Quadrant) needs to be reversed. If I reset the calibration to say no axis processed, when I push my throttles forward they go backwards in the sim and vice versa. Is there a way to reverse the axis without calibrating?
  12. I made one complete flight from RJAA to YSSY with no throtte issues. I thought they had fixed themselves. Then the problem returned on the next flight.
  13. The yoke not moving is due to having the axis in FSUIPC set to "aileron set" instead of "aileron axis set".

Was worth a try...There are a bunch of suggestions in the intro manual...

If you have the LOD radius 6.5 tweak, lower it back to 4.5. That was the only time I ever had an OMM problem. I hope it is that simple for you!
  16. I'll try that when I get home. I did try all of the other override options though.
  17. Hmmm, I'll have to check and see if I have a calibration file associated with the throttles in FSUIPC. Don't recall ever calibrating them using FSUIPC but I'll check. Thanks. Not sure why It would work fine with the autothrottle switches off though.
  18. I've discovered that this is related to the autothrottles being in standby mode which they are most ot the time in real life. My throttles have a life of their own during taxi but if I turn off the two switches everything works fine. Must be a little bug. Turn off the switches and see what happens.
  19. Did my first flight since the crash today. All went well even if my hand was shaking as I disengaged the autopilot....
  20. Happened again to me today 22L KEWR. I've come to expect it and just keep hitting the APPR button.
  21. Nosed over hard and could not recover...
  22. This was definitely not a stall. Everything was perfect on the approach. I think the flight dynamics engine disconnected with FSX or something. It literally fell out of the sky. Cool replay from tower view....HE HE...
  23. Yes, very tragic. Great replay though!! Happened very quickly with no warning...Transcript of CVR: Oh #&@#!
