  1. I use REX as my weather engine (it does the job but I would recommend Active Sky) and whenever it updates the weather, I usually get big wind changes which cause whatever I'm flying to jolt one way or another and overspeed. After I turned on wind smoothing, that pretty much stopped. If you're using REX, that might be you're issue.
  2. I used to go up front after we landed, but since I don't take many flights (and those that I do fly are transoceanic, so ~200 pax to unload at the gate), the habit just dropped out. And a high cost index? I thought the average was 80! I guess all my time in the big birds has overwhelmed me.
  3. They did let me take photos -- and they let me sit in the left seat. I asked him about the joystick flying and he even told me to take a crack at the joystick! It was much smoother and had a lot less motion than I expected. The crew was very open to questions, and didn't speak in layman's terms when I asked them advanced questions. Probably the nicest, most fun crew I've ever flown with!
  4. Hey all, I was recently on a flight from LGA-ATL, and were delayed at the gate for an hour due to weather. The pilots were kind enough to let people into the cockpit. Since I usually try and fly RW routes, I asked the FO if I could jot down his route. Instead of that, he printed the flight plan init data. Most of us don't usually get these opportunities and not sharing this would be a waste. WIthout further ado, here is the data sheet. Raw MCDU Data Data Explained: I hope you all put this data to good use! Happy flying!
  5. As stated in the topic, there's a setting within the FMC to disable automatic mode switching of the HGS somewhere. I'm not entirely sure where that is, but that may be the root of the problem.
  6. In the introduction, PMDG says that changing liveries/making the NGX your default flight will cause it to "load on top of itself," which causes CTDs and a lot of other problems. So basically, once you pick a livery, you are committed.
  7. Your help fixed the problem, but it's just that there's no one perfect position. I'll just have to mess with the settings a bit. Oh well, all I needed was to see the HGS display.
  8. Thanks, I'll check them out. I'll post a screenshot of the problem so I can get futher help.
  9. Hello all, Ever since I've used EZdok with the NGX (which is awesome) the camera view for the PIC is not in the correct position and makes the HUD display itself get cut off when in certain modes. I've tried editing the camera within FSX but when I do it only jumps around, not moves smoothly, and doesn't help the problem. This is especially frustrating, especially when using AIII mode, that I cannot see the HGS and the information it provides. Currently my options are too much to the left, or too much to the right. I was also wondering if I could just edit the POV config file to move it without jumping 10 coordinates instead of 1. Any chance I could do that?
  10. I agree with others that FSX traffic KILLS frames and system resources. I suggest you follow PMDG's tweaks in the Introduction. Other than that, check if you have FSX light bloom on. It uses a lot of resources but delivers little. If you want light bloom, try ENB Series.
  11. The one for me is definitely the McPhatt Delta livery.
  12. My favorite aircraft in the sim would definitely be the NGX - it is amazing fun to pilot, and looks amazing - best combination of things for me. But my favorite would be the 767. It is by far my favorite aircraft.
  13. That's really odd. Do you have a program that alters the lights on the NGX? If so, it might be interfering. Also, does this only happen on the NGX?
  14. It was my understanding that the OP had the NGX files themselves and not the exe. If OP has the .exe, just follow pete_auau's advice.
