Airbus confirms the stretched A380
The reason for the 800 looking so ugly is simply that it's fuselage is way too short in relation to it's height and the size of the wingbox. No doubt that the stretched variants will please the eye a lot more. As long as the aircraft is performing well economically (and of course structurally), I don't see any reasons why they should stop increasing the size. Ground handling just has to adapt, it's always been that way. They had to adapt to the massive number of passengers an original 747 could carry and they managed to do that as well. If the political or geographical environment doesn't allow this, then either those big planes won't perform economically (which leads to airlines not ordering them) or airlines will move their operation to other airports who are able and willing to adapt (again, if economically feasible). And seriously, I think we all would kill to see a 200mx200m man made structure taking off and slowly climbing towards the sky one day ;-)

Thank you PMDG - Come on people, lets make this thread HOT

STROBE & STEADY light when use?
As far as I can recall Steady/Nav lights are always on when the aircraft is under electrical power. Strobes are turned on as soon as you enter a runway and turned off when leaving it (so they're on for the complete flight).

Delete Waypoints
You actually don't delete the waypoints, you overwrite them.So in the LEGS page, just take the waypoint after the one you want to delete in your scratchpad and then select the LSK of the waypoint that needs to go. After that simply execute and your waypoint is gone.

Payload over 100%
Seen reports of the same issue here in the forums, but can't check myself at the moment as I'm at work. But it out of memory, can the number of Crew be specified somewhere? If not that could explain at least 4, but there would still be 3 that aren' explained.. Maybe 3 F/As in total instead of 2 and the two jumpseats?

Autoland Oddity - Neep Help.
Reversers have to be set manually, always, they wont come up automatically. Usually you're just using idle reverse so you don't put much stress on the engines.Spoilers however will come up automatically upon touchdown of the main landing gear if the green 'SPEED BRAKE ARMED' sign is active. You can find this just over the EFIS. Usually you'll arm the speed brakes when the glideslope comes alive, just check for the green light and you should be ready to go.

reverse doors
Check this post by Ryan, as it seems you need to use FSRecorder for replaying all animations correctly:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/342143-fantastic-first-flight-a-very-small-problem-replay-problem-advice/page__view__findpost__p__2046190

FSGlobal Terrain Warning at KSFO
Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this issue. As it seems it's mostly caused by water, I've never had any issues with the terrain map when flying over mountains yet - works beautifully there.I think I'm going to do some further testing with approaches over water areas tonight, maybe there's some kind of pattern to be found.RegardsEdit: just came to my mind that I've enabled the cyan water display, however the whole san francisco bay isn't displayed as water. So maybe there is something wrong with the scenery files (where PMDG pulls the data)..

FSGlobal Terrain Warning at KSFO
Yesterday I was fully established on the ILS for RWY 28R at KSFo when suddenly the terrain warning came up ('TERRAIN' - ' PULL UP'). As most of you sure know, the ILS glidepath is directly over water, but when checking the EFIS it showed a huge red block directly between me and the runway. Now as I'm using FS Global 2010 I think this might be some kind of bug there (don't think that PMDG can do anything about this), is maybe someone able to reproduce this?Best Regards

Didn't think I was this much of a newbie on the 737NG...
Have you tried following the FCOM1 Normal Procedures? You can find them at approximately page 77, going on to page 162. When following those starting with a long turn panel state I don't get any issues starting the engines..Regards

Plan Mode, Payload & Fuel
Hi all, I'm not quite sure if I'm doing anything wrong here, but I've got a weird behavior in regards to the plan mode and after that pretty much all the custom (PMDG specific) options in the CDU. So first of here's what I'm doing:- Entering the flight plan in the RTE, DEP/ARR pages, including SID/STAR, approaches and runways (I know it's not realistic to enter the arrival information before flying, but when you fly without any weather for the initial testing and learning - why not? ;) )- then I'm activating and executing the plan in RTE- Now I'm switching to to plan mode to see if the flight plan will work like this, as far as I'm remembering from all the Boeing planes you'll go to the LEGS page on the CDU and then press STEP to switch from one waypoint to the next (correct so far?) But initially the STEP on LSK6R is somehow missing, now when I'm switching between a few CDU pages it somehow comes up, so far so good.Only problem is, after that I cannot change any PMDG options in the CDU anymore. All values for payload and fuel are just empty (however EzDok is shifting the camera when pressing the "Random" payload LSK, so I suppose it's still working, just no values displayed). By no values I mean there is actually nothing in the CDU, the screen is completely black. Same when trying to load a panel state. Now funny thing, when I'm changing to the PERF page on the CDU, the calculated GW entry is as well missing completely, the title is there but absolutely no value displayed, just empty on LSK1L. Entering a value isn't possible as well, changing the ZFW accomplishes nothing. I'm not quite sure If I'm doing something wrong here, is maybe someone of you able to reproduce this issue? Best regards to you all, and thank you PMDG for this awesome plane!

Is anyone flying the NGX yet?
I just completed the first tutorial flight and I'm kind of shocked right now.. It's just an amazing piece of software and i still can't believe what PMDG delivered here.Just after loading the plane the sound blew me away, it's like you can almost feel the packs blowing the air in your face ;)Then you look around in the VC and it certainly feels like sitting in the real thing. The FPS are amazing as well, compares to the MD-11 and is nowhere near as low as the J41 was on my system (late 2009 iMac i7).And those DUs, never saw anything that smooth and crisp in a flight sim before - to put it simply: Thank you PMDG! I feel kinda bad only paying 70$ for this...And off we go, next flight is in the pipeline :D
