  1. Yes, they've been quite helpful when needed. I had a very lengthy and detailed email response from their devs explaining the ins and outs of the alternate fsx.cfg/dll.xml/scenery.cfg paths, and other issues as they've come up.
  2. One of the problems holding up getting third party content onto Steam at the moment is brand licencing. If you notice the first two releases - one already has an official licence from the brand owner (Lockhead) dating back to when it was first released, and the second announced product has no branded aircraft in it so it removes that hurdle. We are due to start releasing titles through Steam in the very near future, but hoop-jumping has had to be done to get there.
  3. Hi, Please set the elevator trim prior to take-off. The setting of four degrees nose up trim is common for most take-offs. To set the trim for take-off, please hold down the numpad 1 key (with num-lock turned off) until the indicator on the pedestal shows that you have +4 degrees elevator trim set:
  4. A big thanks to everyone who came along on Saturday. Everyone seems to have had a good time, which makes all the hard work worthwhile. I'm not sure I can bring myself to start thinking about 2015 just yet... but we'll get onto it soon and hopefully keep building on the success of the last two years.
  5. But they do still have an active role Flight Simulator X. They still sell it in high street shops in the UK (and all over the world - I also saw it in shops in Germany and the USA last year). That means that they are still getting paid for their product. They might not be playing an active part in developing it further, but it's still theirs every bit as much as it was the day it was released. PMDG and MS are both doing the same thing - preventing people from copying their property. The only difference is the method they are using. If the question you posed was "why do Microsoft use such an awful activation system compared to PMDG, and most other people on this planet" then you would be spot on. Another point on the active/dormant status of FSX is the recent Dovetail deal. Would Dovetail have been interested in paying Microsoft quite so much money for the rights to sell FSX if MS had decided to remove all the protection and make it open to anyone who wanted to download it. Alright, don't start a beef over it ;-)
  6. What charliearon says is absolutely right. Although you may own a physical copy of a game and be able to hold it in your hand, you don't own the rights the to software itself, just the rights for you to use it. You can't give it to your friend in the same way you couldn't give it to ACME CD replicators in order to make you a pile of copies to go sell at a carboot sale (or fleemarket). Imagine if you could buy a steak to take home, eat it and then somehow (in a way that wouldn't be gross) pass it onto all your friends for them to eat it and then pass on to their friends. I'd imagine Walmart would start insisting, and enforcing, that only you ate the steak so that they were able to sell enough steaks to make it worthwhile for the farmer to raise cattle and bring them to market. If they could only sell one steak then the whole chain breaks down and nobody gets to enjoy any steaks... That software was made by Microsoft and they own and control what happens to it.
  7. Sorry to go off-topic for a second... Any of you from the Uk who are missing the days of big shows should get yourselves along to Cosford in October. Thousands of simmers and big name devs there last year and hopefully even more this year. http://www.flightsimulatorshow.com/photos.html%C2'>
  8. Hi Ricardo, If you do decide to do one for the Canberra then feel free to get in touch and we can give you any info or support that you might need.
  9. If you want to get a head start on mastering the Canberra systems, or are just curious as to how much depth has been included in the Canberra then you can download the manual ahead of release tomorrow evening from here: http://microsites.justflight.info/ca...pr9_manual.pdf
  10. A couple of screenies from the latest Canberra build.
  11. We are developers and publishers. We have a decent sized development team, and also dedicated people to handle marketing, as well as IT people, accounts and a warehouse. Have a look at our Canberra PR9 that we have in development which myself and Nortmar are working on for an example of what we produce in house - http://www.justflight.com/product/canberra. Our Facebook page is a good example of the excellent job our marketing guys do. We are about to hit 100,000 users any minute now (hopefully today) which is vastly more than anyone else in flight sim have.
  12. The Canberra PR9 from Just Flight. All the best, Richard Just Flight .
  13. Hi Simmerhead, We've since removed that activation limit from our software so you wouldn't have that problem any longer.
  14. Hi Dave, Sorry to hear you've been having problems. The customer service team only returned back yesterday after the Christmas break. If you haven't heard back by the end of today feel free to drop me a PM. All the best, Rich
