Steve. Thanks again. I did find that folder but it seemed to hold only fonts and a shortcut to internet support. However, I have done as you suggested and copied the dll into there. I'll see how I get on.RegardsJohn

SteveThanks for the response. I'm going to prove my ignorance again! Becasue I use W7 I seem to have various bits of FSX all over the place. Could you point me in the direction of the "fsx root" folder.CheersJohn

Hi All. Please excuse my ignorance on this. I have experienced some CTDs when using menus so want to make this change. When I search for the UIAutomationCore.dll file I find it in:ComputerWinVista©WindowsSystem32. Despite the Vista reference on my hard disc I use 64 bit W7. Whe you make reference to dropping the file into the FSX folder, what does that mean given where it currently appears to be?Thanks for any adviceJohn Gilbert

Dear All.. Just in from work and see lots of posts about my "hard to find aircraft.cfg files". Thanks to everyone for the guidance and advice. Given that all is working well I will stay clear of a reinstall etc for now, and await the outcome of SP1. If I have problems I will reinstall using all the advice received. Thanks again.John

James. Found 'em! They were in programX86/microsoft games/sim objects/airplanes/PDMG 737-800 .....John

Hi James. The cfg files are not in that folder. All I have in program files x86, microsoft games, microsoft flight simulator x is a folder called "fonts" and not "sim objects, airplanes, pmdg737ngx.aircraft cfg". John

Hi James. I am following this thread on editing the aircraft.cfg files to backup liveries or deleting the cfg files altogether before installing the latest hotfix. I just seem unable to track down the aircraft.cfg files. The manual refers to fsxroot/PDMG/PDMG 737 NGX/Aircraft but I can't find that either!! Must be me I know but assistance gladly received. Thanks for the advice on FSX location. I think I will leave well alone.JohnJames. Bob. Thanks. I know that program86 is not ideal but I am reluctant to uninstall and start completely over, although this may be a good idea before SP1 arrives. That said I still cannot fing files titled "aircraft".cfg. The folder SimObjects is in c:\users\"username"\appdata\roaming\microsoft\FSX\SimObjects. In there are 4 PDMG folders but in each is just one file titled "state.cfg. I cannot open this to edit. Is this however what I am looking for?John

Dear All. For the life of me I cannot find the aircraft.cfg files referred to in all this thread. I have Windows 7 64 bit and FSX is installed in programs86\microsoft games\... etc. I have looked in C:\users\"username"\appdata and then local and roaming but still cannot locate. A file search for *.cfg comes up blank. Help much appreciated before I attempt to laod the latest hotfix. ThanksJohn

Thanks Frederick. One last question then I'll try again and try the screenshot. I set everything up with 184 in Cap and FO course and 110.10 on both NAVS. However, at some point, without my intervention, it changes to 183 on both course displays. I'm guessing that makes no difference because otherwise I wouldn't even get single channel annunciated.I will end posts now given the time, try another flight and repost tomorrow with screen shot if successful.Thanks for your help so farJohn

At the point of trying to engage CMD B I have single channel annunciated and I have set MCP to 148 (Vref+5). If I am actually faster than that and the "A" warning is displayed, is that enough to cause autoland to fail?John

Thanks but I have done all of that. Both NAV radios are set to 110.10, both courses are set to 184, VORLOC is armed and APP has been switched on. Even with VORLOC and GS fully annunciated in the FMC I still cannot get both autopilots to engage.

Hi all. Having had no replies to my earlier post, I trawled again through all the posts including the recent ones on autopilot disconnect at 100 feet etc. Having also read that some users had reinstalled to backtrack from the hot fixes, I did that as well. The tutorial flight was more stable I think, but, I stll could not get both autopilots to engage even when well established on the localiser and GS. Turning on CMD B turned off CMD A and left me on FD only. Reconnecting CMD A let me fly as normal to the landing (better practice I know!) but I am still intrigued as to why I cannot do a full autoland. I would still appreciate any advice on what I may still be doing incoreectly. ThanksJohn

Since I am having problems with autolands and CMD B dropping out, I am tempted to try a complete reinstall. Is it wise to do a complete uninstall first and then reinstall or is it safe to reinstall over the existing?ThanksJohn

Hi all. Despite reading all the various posts on not being able to engage CMD B once fully established with VOR/LOC and GS fully annunciated, I still cannot stop CMD A tripping out leaving me with a CWS annunciated. I have started cold and dark and have all hotfixes loaded. To be sure I was establshed I left it quite late before selecting the second autopilot and the diamond was pink (magenta?). I have the autopilot set to realistic. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks.John

Hi All Help needed!! I have "lost" the tutorial flight due no doubt to my changing the setting to start "dark and cold" in error. Now of course I can set up at EGKK but without engines running, I have yet to successfully start up from that position. Is there any way that tutorial position, sitting at EGKK RW08 with engines running can be recovered? Thanks John

Hi AllI am shiny new to the 737NGX. I am confused by the control of the mouse in VC. It seems that if I move too far back the mouse pointer won't change to allow me to make swith changes etc. Only if I get relatively close will they work. Is that right because I have seen a youtube video where someone took you through the cockpit and he seemed to be workig controls from some distance away in VC. I am using W7 64 bit Thanks for any help/advice John
