Interesting...read this
This is quite interesting :http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/6561479/Flight-triggered-warning-in-cockpit-court-hearsHow true is the statement "A pilot may never hear this cockpit warning in his entire career apart from in a simulator"?A good read for those of you who have tried the NZ Queenstown departure.Andrew

04FEB12 Update on SP1c and a few other items...
Dietmar, NGX is not really for cockpit builders. Sure if you want to interface an MCP or a few switches. If you are serious about building a cockpit go get Prosim737.Andrew Vincent

Enough of these Saitek Crappy Throttles
For what it is worth and many will back me up. If you are a recreational 'simmer' and perhaps even fly the occasional DCS-A10 then you just cannot beat a TM HOTAS Warthog combo. They are all metal construction and the axis are optical. It is the smoothest, most accurate control system available and the independent throttles even have a 'reverse' position. The other multi-position buttons and switches are just fabulous for views and bringing up CDU etc. analogue flap control, lights, TOGA, AP, Park brakes plus so much more all professional quality. If you were keen you could replace a few with rotaries and with appropriate interfacing (another eg. phidgets card inside you could come up with a tailored solution. If you are only interested in NGX then as the overlays are removable it would be possible to label them for airliner operation. I can't sing it's praises loud enough...but if you have to have a yoke then you are back to square one.Andrew Vincent

NGX Code Style
LOL...it's not insulting to me...rather your post is very insulting to all women who happen to read this forum, and you need to apologise. Look, I'm not a young person and certainly no fool. The OP was from a young person who was being a bit naive about commercial practices. I didn't mean to insult him, if I did then I can man up and apologise, but the fact remains that what PMDG does, how it does it, when it does it, what equipment and software it uses is their business and no one has any right to ask them anything to do with their business practices. Sure, ask about their product, but don't expect any answers about intellectual property or how it was made other than maybe a reference to "C++" as has been previously quoted...Andrew Vincent

NGX Code Style
LOL...I have some answers for you...1. Why would you care and what does it matter? If you were that clever you could work it out very quickly.2. Another dumb question...If you are that sure it is dotNet then why did you ask question 1?3. What does it matter...and see answer 2. Why again are you assuming Visual Studio?Don't expect any commercial information out of PMDG regarding what they work on or how they do business. If you want to make it in the software development business, this is not the way to do things. Immediately I now know that TFDi is a single person bedroom effort at best. You need to stay low until you have tangible products to sell otherwise it makes you look like a wannabee.Andrew Vincent

Any Air New Zealand liveries available for 800 winglets
Qantas operate their NZ operation as Jetconnect and their livery is for practical purposes the same as the normal Qantas 738. Although Jetconnect is a subsidiary of Qantas the 738s used trans-Tasman are registered in NZ in the series ZK-ZQA through ZQH. The domestic arm of Qantas fly in NZ since 2010 as Jetstar and have a small fleet of A320-200 in the series VH-VQ...Air New Zealand fly only 737-300 aircraft which will be phased out by 2016 in favour of A320s. The upshot is you will have to make do with Jetconnect livery on the NGX for now.Andrew Vincent

black screen issue
'Ctrl Alt Del' then push 'Cancel' also works for me. Update your display drivers next.Just an observation of mine but most problems with FSX are cured by deleting fsx.cfg and let it rebuild itself. Forget all of the tweaks except 'HIMEMFIX=1' and 'WideViewAspect = True' to start with and see how you go. The only other tweak which some people seem to need is TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD = 4096 but mine is great at 1024 with addon scenery. I have been doing this for a few years now and the results are all very inconclusive, but trust me and build a new fsx.cfg.I have faultless performance by defaulting to the hang glider then loading a saved NGX situation. Loading a default NGX situation is asking for trouble. If only I could understand the MyTrafficX Editor manual - What a nightmare !! Great programme with minimal FPS impact but so confusing to build a realistic schedule. Anybody...?Andrew Vincent

737NGX/Ezdok
I second that, but not for cameras. I need new vibration files. I downloaded some but they are far too bouncy. I have no clue about how it should be set and end up with some unrealistic cyclical jerky movements...very frustrating so I just turn the master or global right down. Anyone with good .vib files please post here.Andrew Vincent
