  1. Apparently not - according to the article linked into the following tips & tricks posting, this was originally internal debug and only documented later:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/333000-customizing-shifted-z-information-in-fsx/
  2. 2) I work round this by setting unlimited battery life in FSUIPC.3) I use "Friendly Panels" for Boeings - payware but IMHO worth it. I mostly fly with the "landing panel", gives me most of the functions I need in flight while still giving me a good out-the-window view. I think they have an FMC too, but I've not tried using that.
  3. I have found a couple of problems with ILS at Traffic X airports. You'll need an airport editor (I use AFX) to fix them.1) Where the ILS frequencies are listed in the Map application, but not in the airport page on the GPS ... here it seems like JF used an old version of AFX that had a bug ... the fix is you just load up the airport in AFX, change something minor (e.g. I just tweaked airport elevation up and back down by 1ft), and save ... ILS service is restored.2) Some places I still had trouble, I tracked this down to airports in certain areas having spurious ILS defintions (though not assigned to runways) that belong to neighboring airports. For example KORD and KMDW were sharing one another's, and in the NY area I found huge confusion between JFK, Newark, LaGuardia, Teterboro and a couple of others. You need to go into Lists->Navaids... and delete the spurious ones. Checking against the stock version of the airport will confirm which ones you're meant to have. And where you find a spurious one, track down the airport that belongs to, as quite likely you'll find that in turn has spurious entries for other airports.Hope that helps.
  4. I no longer get this problem on my new machine - my own engine noise is no longer getting muted by other sounds.[sorry Turbo, none of which helps with your originally reported problem I guess]
  5. I simply renamed the folder SimObjectsTrafficXJFAI-AllAircraftTrafficX_Sounds out of the way. Given all the Traffic X aircraft have soundai.cfg files that point into that dir, I was expecting silence, but actually I got plenty of noise, maybe a bit too loud at times, but at least it was a consistent level without the previous loss of sound problem. I was assuming it must have fallen back to the default ai sounds, but now looking at this again I'm wondering if it was falling back on the sound.cfg which points to e.g. JFAI-AllAircraftsound.jet.Anyway, why not give it a go and see if that helps your problem, you can always rename the folder back again.
  6. They do different things.UTX defines Landclass, especially for urban areas. Also things like roads, railroads, bridges.GEX improves on default textures and autogen. They complement one another. Together IMHO they vastly improve on the visual appearance of the default FSX world.
  7. Ok. I had a problem with TrafficX sound on my old system - when I switched to an outside view, or to a menu, then back to cockpit view, sound would often become very muted. I'd have to switch back and forth between cockpit and outside views a few times before normal volume was resumed. But that doesn't sound the same as your problem does it?(I got so fed up with that I ended up removing TrafficX sounds and reverting to the default AI sounds. Have only just loaded Traffic X onto my new system today, am yet to see if the problem re-surfaces).
  8. The first thing to check is do you have SP1 installed for Traffic X? Just Flight's website refers to SP1 fixing some sound issues.
  9. Do you by any chance have the Traffic X add-on installed? And is the problem that you see ILS frequencies when you look at the airport in the Map, but they're missing from the GPS unit?If that's the case, I may have some suggestions ...
  10. The Wilco 737 "Pilot in Command" seems to be a well regarded model of the -300/-400/-500 series.Peedge
