  1. I think I've caught the issue red-handed. I was flying with same route and same plane setting as before. The only difference was the panel state (as scandinavian13 suggested). Instead of C&D I used the default state I get when the sim is loading. But that was still not the case. Time/Fuel from the FMC: Taxi Out - 1639Z-> 33.0 Climb - 1639Z-> 1212Z/32.0 T/C - 1651Z-> 1212Z/31.6 1741Z-> 1212Z/31.5 1834Z-> 1212Z/24.8 1957Z-> 1212Z/24.4 2021Z-> 1212Z/24.2 Just before S/C - 2059Z-> 1213Z/24.1 After S/C - 2105Z-> 1213Z/24.0 An then it happened. I had my view set on the FMC, when the sim froze. It does happen to me every once in a while (several times during every flight). It is a known issue, listed in the PMDG 777 issue tracking thread ("Long pauses where the sim recovers after 30 seconds to a few minutes."). Anyway the sim was frozen at 2115Z, and the FMC said 1213Z/24.0. Then the sim recovers, 2116Z at the clock. I look at the FMC, and it says 1213Z/17.7!!! So it seems like during those pauses, the sim, the time and everything is frozen but for a fuel flow! Nothing changed in the conditions, there was no weather at all, I haven't changed any settings. I haven't checked the fuel qty before and after the freeze, but I think I would see 6300 lbs less fuel. It would be very weird if the freeze changed just the prediction. That also explains why the predicted fuel amount sometimes decreased by few hundred lbs in an hour, and sometimes by several thousand. So I think I have found an issue. Most likely the issue will be gone with resolving the 'freezing issue'. Can someone re-track my thinking and see if my conclusion is correct?
  2. I always use the PMDG Cold and Dark, and follow the complete procedure from FCOM. I don't use any external software that has something to do with fuel. All I have installed with FSX is acceleration, PMDG 747x, NGX, and 777x, and Aerosoft EGLL & EDDF (everything genuine). I've only edited what was described in 777 introduction.
  3. I am still flying, but I can already say it's neither the weather, nor the AutoCruise. Here's how it goes. FAOR-PANC, Cost Index: 25, Step size: RVSM, no weather at all. Units are lbs x1000 this time. Here's what the FMC said, and what I had done. Before Taxi: Fuel at PANC - 34.4 During Climb: Fuel at PNAC - 32.7 (Probably the difference is the Taxi fuel) At T/C (about 1700Z): Time/Fuel at PANC - 1228Z/32.7 Shortly after T/C I engaged Autocruise (up to x4) 1749Z: Time/Fuel at PANC - 1228Z/29.3 1952Z: Time/Fuel at PANC - 1232Z/10.5 1952Z - Autocruise OFF 2136Z: Time/Fuel at PANC - 1232Z/5.7 2141Z - Cost Index ->0, Step size ->1000 Autocruise ON 2141Z: Time/Fuel at PANC - 1234Z/6.1 0004Z: Time/Fuel at PANC - 1234Z/0.0; Insufficient Fuel on EICAS So without the weather the problem still exists. As well as w/o Autocruise. Any ideas?
  4. I don't think that's the case. It seems like it, but I don't compare fuel at dest before takeoff and at T/D, but at T/C and at T/D, so the FMC already knows about the wind aloft. Plus when I make the tailwind stronger, the fuel amount at dest should increase. In fact it does, but not enough. On my last flight it went like this: 4.4 tons at T/C, decreasing to 1.9 (over something like 1000nm), then I increase tailwind by 20kts (jetstream ), no x-wind, it goes up to 2.0 then slowly down to 0.0. If I don't change the wind, the amount at T/C and T/D should be roughly the same, but I am sure it shouldn't decrease when the tailwind increases! I will try tomorrow with no weather at all, and see is it still happening.
  5. Thanks, but that's not quite it. I'm not using PFPX, and the difference is between fuel amount at dest on CDU at T/C and later on, still on CDU. And I have less fuel than planned, rather than more fuel as in the topic you mentioned.
  6. Hi. I'm flying some ultra-long-haul flights recently with my 772 and I always notice one thing. The fuel amount at destination on the CDU keeps decreasing. For example I've flown from OTBD to NZAA yesterday and after T/C my CDU said something about 16 tons of fuel at NZAA. The number kept decreasing and reached 9 tons before T/D. I haven't changed anything and I was doing step climbs without any delay. Right now I'am flying from NZAA to LEMG (two most separated major cities?). After T/C, CDU said 4.4 tons at LEMG, but soon I've got an 'Insufficient Fuel' message on the EICAS, and 0.0 fuel at LEMG on the CDU. This time I've decided to do something about it and I've reduced cost index, then reduced step size, and finally increased the tailwind. It helped, but just a little, and now I've still got the 'Insufficient Fuel' message. Do you know why the fuel amount at dest is always decreasing, even when I make an airplane more fuel efficient and make the weather conditions better? Am I doing something wrong (except taking more fuel on-board or perhaps not flying longest routes possible )? Or maybe the autocruise increase fuel consumption (I do not fly 23-hour long flight in real time)? Michał Trześniowski
  7. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/353081-short-normal-procedures/Done by myselfM.
  8. I've done few flights using this checklist and it's working quite well. There are some things that should be corrected, but I think it's only minor stuff.M.
  9. When I fly 744x I use the Normal Procedures checklist from AOM. It is short (15 pages) and there is everything needed to do and to check, to have a flight with all systems working as they should. Now I bought NGX and there was no such checklist. The normal procedures from FCOM is like 80 pages or more and you have to choose from different options, configurations etc. It's a little bit unpractical for Fsim. I wanted to have something like the one for 744x So I've done a short normal procedures checklist for NGX. I was using the FCOM, as well as Tutorial V1. I've omitted some things and made a choice, when choice was needed. What I've got is a checklist of things to do to have a fully operational flight (I hope). There are only things to be done, almost no tests, no checks etc. But it works and it's only like 6 pages so it's easy to print and use. I'd like to share it, because maybe someone will find it useful. Plus maybe someone will tell me what to add/change/remove.The file is in .txt, because 'I am not permitted to upload' .doc or .odt file. Just copy it to Open Office or Word, make necessary corrections and should be fine.I've made it in Open Office Writer 3.3, so copying to OO Writer 3.3 shouldn't require any correctionsGreetings Michal
  10. I have followed Your instructions and it seems to have worked! I did not change sound card or drivers while NGX was installed, as You speculated, but it worked.Just reinstalling NGX did not work.So I've uninstalled NGX, then reinstalled sound card driver, then updated DirectX, then reinstalled NGX.Now I have all sounds in cockpit and in FMC I have my sound devices. In a minute I'm gonna make a test flight to be 100% sure everything is fine. Thanks a lot! Great advice.Greetings Michal
  11. Nothing seem to help. I've read the other topic Call outs and sound, but that's not the case in my problem. I've tried all options in FSX sound options page and the problem still exist... Any other suggestions? Anyone?
  12. Nope. Unfortunately. I checked that before, now I've checked it again. If I pick in FSX sound options page 'Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)' instead of default, nothing changes. The other 2 options (digital output) kill the sound at all (as they should).
  13. I have a problem with my NGX (v1.00.3057). I do not have any cockpit sounds (EGPWS, TCAS, Fire bells, Cautions, switches clicks etc). Other sounds (engines, wind etc) are OK. And its only with NGX. There is no such issue with any other aircraft (including PMDG 744X). My Windows playback device is set to stereo, as it is stereo. In FSX sound device is default (and switching to other options does not help). And when I go to sound options on aircraft's FMC/CDU it says 'device: none' and when I click it, there are no sound devices. I can't think of anything else to fix it. Clicking 'Q' twice does not help either. I have an onboard sound card(Realtek ALC 892).My PC:Asus M5A97 ProAMD FX-4100MSI R6850 Power EditionCorsair 8GB DDR3 1600Win 7 Pro x64
