  1. Thanks Olli, yes I plan on picking up Elstree at least! J
  2. I personally wasn't impressed with the housing estate on Regents Park with FTX ENG but the rest is pretty good. I'm happy with the cost and will probably pick up a couple of the smaller airports. JJ
  3. I think he's been incredibly helpful considering some of the responses he's been getting....
  4. .....and an excellent job youve done Rich. I've been flying her tonight between NZDN and NZAA. Just a short hop!
  5. Hi Rich No problem at all. Thought I was doing something wrong! Looking forward to giving it a try and many thanks again for your hard work. Looks stunning! J
  6. I'm really sorry but I'm a bit of a newbie at this. To find it I need to do a search under FSX Aircraft Repaints and then I search for what exactly? I am trying combinations of pmdg 777 black air new zealand, etc, etc.... Many thanks J
  7. Wow. Well done. That looks absolutely superb! Jay
  8. That's great Mark! As an expat kiwi, thanks for sharing, good to see someone from the land of the long white cloud on the beta team. Jay
  9. Thanks mate. To be honest I was thinking of the benefits in terms of offloading the processing rather than sounds quality as such. For example, with Pro ATCx sounds, I can sometimes perceive a bit of a stutter in frame rate. I'm running the latest sound drivers. JJ
  10. Hi all Currently running with the Realtek audio off the back of my Asus P8Z77-V motherboard. Would I see much benefit going to a dedicated soundcard like the Asus Xonar in FSX? Many thanks JJ
  11. That's funny. I've had to buy it on Amazon to see just how bizarre it is for myself!
  12. Hi Ron Many thanks for the link to the video. It explained the exact issue in that I had set up Ezdok cameras at 50% zoom. Once they've all been adjusted to 100% the screens on each side are much much better. The PMDG737NGX in fullscreen is excellent but I think I have a problem with the Aerosoft Airbus Extended in fullscreen. Windowed it runs well but in fullscreen I get the same effect I have when I open the 2d panel in the PDMG. Frame rate drops and I have the spinning mouse/windows pointer. Oh well, one thing fixed and another to fix. The story of FSX! Many thanks again. JJ
  13. Many thanks all for your replies. I understand now. It's not an absolutely terrible effect but I wondering whether there was something fundamentally wrong. JJ
  14. Hi Ron Many thanks for your comment and the link, I will do some reading. I suppose what I find strange is that the screen in the middle is picture perfect but the screens on each side look like some perspective had been added into the mix (hence blurring the overall those images). I intentionally run FSX very conservatively after fiddling with settings for months. It's a i5 over-clocked to 4.5mhz with the GTX670 and an SSD for operating system and FSX install. I get close to 20fps at Aerosoft's EHAM and regularly over 40+ fps in flight with UTX and REX running in Europe. JJ
  15. Surely must be a few folks with nVidia surround set ups can comment. I just really need to know if this is normal. Thanks JJ
  16. If you can find a copy of the most recent Custom PC magazine they do a budget case test which could be suitable. If you're using a 3 screen set up and want to move to nVidia the minimum really is a GTX670. JJ
  17. I run a FSX rig with a GTX670 in surround with 3 monitors. Now, this may be normal, but the views in the "surround" monitors are blurry. It's like a perspective has been applied. Is this normal or can I do something about it? Many thx JJ
  18. Hi Mark Many thanks. Yes I'd just figured it out before coming back to check here. I've recently purchased ezdok and mapped control-1 and control-2 to specific views, which as you point out put the VOR ident on/off. Operator error! Thanks again. JJ
  19. Ok. I'm going to look like a complete noob here but I have a very annoying beeping in the cockpit. Sounds like morse code and repeats every 10 seconds or so. It's just started, which is weird, and I guess it's a signal from something. What have I pressed by accident and how do I get rid of it! Many thanks! JJ
  20. Ah, that'll be it! Many thanks Shaun, I could've spent quite some time trying to track that down.
  21. Hopefully someone can assist. I run FSX in both windowed and full screen (across 3 monitors). When I run full screen runway and aircraft lights seem to be "over-bloomed", over-bright. I have REX Ess+ but have re-set the textures to the default and the issue still appears. Any ideas what it could be? Many thanks in advance. JJ
  22. My Saitek X52 Pro was unstable under USB3.0 which was obviously fixed by moving it to a USB2.0 port. This was under Win7 but it might be worth looking at if you've decided to use Win8. J
  23. Hi MichaelI've recently got into FSX and am now learning about the 737NGX. I run it on my iMac, not dis-similar to Marc's but the i5 version. So that's iMac 27", i5, 1GB radeon card and 12GB of ram.I've spent quite a bit of time tweaking the set-up and have found a pretty good balance overall. The 737NGX is quite intensive, as you would expect, and I get around a 5-7 fps impact off my usual 35fps. That's with pretty much most of the bells and whistles going but little traffic. The early iMac's could run a second display off the display port but the later iMac's have Thunderbolt, which I am not sure you can (at the moment). I believe it's possible but you need a special cable? Someone can probably correct me. Hope that helps.regardsJasonJason Jackett
