  1. I fly a King Air variant with the -67 engines. Though ITT (We call it TGT but it's the same thing) does rise slightly, its not very much. Typically we worry about maxing the ITT in the climb in the summer and the N1, not ITT/TGT will be the limiting factor in the winter. The same could be said when I flew a KA with the -42. In my experience, about 1500 hours in the King Air, TGT/ITT does not climb very much at all. In fact I can't remember a time when in the climb where I had to reduce power due to temps.
  2. Check out www.windy.com. Best aviation weather site I have seen yet. They also have a free app.
  3. Seems about right. V1 and Vr can be the same speed in certain aircraft under certain conditions. You are very light, 1/3 cargo and fuel is not a lot, so those speeds would be attained relatively quickly. What are the takeoff distances you are seeing?
  4. P3d was not running at the time the screenshots were taken. It is running when I am attempting to use Maddog X and that is when I am having the problems.
  5. Thank you. P3D was not running at the time so it was not highlighted. It usually is. Any possible ideas what might be causing this?
  6. Sorry for the late reply. I just noticed you had replied. I have made no changes to the MCP Combo assignments. I just checked and teh PMDG 777 profile works with no issues at all. I am still having issues with the MADDOG X for some reason though. I have updated to the latest version of LINDA (3.0.6) and still have the same problem. Here are my assignments. https://drive.google.com/file/d/165nUusIS2QAP-8sMcmJ1HJpi2dUYMZ2z/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PXjHyIF74xHspq2KlnYkXYlgHhlUEMy4/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1reiDdDdnsaYFWIBXICjcV7pWsy3tG_YO/view?usp=sharing
  7. So here is something, I have over 1500 hours (all but 300 hours in various King Airs), an ATP, MEII, and a rotorcraft endorsement and have never solo'd. Beauty of military flying I guess.
  8. Thank you for your service. I am currently stationed over here now.
  9. Using 2 graphics cards gives lower than expected performance gains, using 4 is overkill. I also thought Nvidia officially disabled support for anything over 2 except for heavy duty work stations? It doesnt help that P3d is still primarily a CPU driven program.
  10. I am curious if anyone else has found a solution to the terrain.dll CTD other than reducing mesh, disabling addons, or deleting the prepar3d.cfg and reducing the mesh setting. My computer specs and addons are exactly the same as they are before I did a clean windows install and a clean P3d install with V4.2, but now about 20 minutes into a flight, doesn't matter the aircraft, I get the terrain.dll CTD. I have attempted to research this but haven't really found a set solution. I have heard that the mesh might be too much for my computer hardware, but honestly if mine won't run it, no ones will. It just seems really odd that it would run just fine before I reinstalled everything. Any ideas? Possibly a drivers error?
  11. Any increase in speed over what Intel ships the chip with is considered an overclock. Stock, as in without modifying anything in the bios, the 8086k will be a bit faster than a stock 8700k. 8086k: Core 1: 5.0 Ghz Core 2: 4.6 Ghz Core 3: 4.5 Ghz Core 4: 4.4 Ghz Core 5: 4.4 Ghz Core 6: 4.3 Ghz 8700k: Core 1: 4.7 Ghz Core 2: 4.6 Ghz Core 3: 4.5 Ghz Core 4: 4.4 Ghz Core 5: 4.4 Ghz Core 6: 4.3 Ghz As you can see the chip speeds are almost identical. You are better off buying an 8700k, getting is delidded from someplace like siolicon lottery, and overclocking the chip to run on 5.0-5.2 Ghz on all cores. It would cost the same. Especially considering the 8086k does not come delidded from the factory and is still a heat machine. The extra 300 mhz is not really worth the extra $75, especially since you can get that performance out of most 8700k's. The 8086k is all about marketing. I would take an 8700k over a 7700k any day of the week if your budget can afford it. Hell the 8600k is better than the 7700k and is cheaper. Look elsewhere for the money and stay away from buying a new 7700k.
  12. A stock 8700k can hit 5.0Ghz on all cores with little to no issues. By setting the 8086k to run at 5.0 Ghz on all cores, you are in fact overclocking it. It does not come stock to run all cores at 5.0 Ghz. Other than for the nostalgia of the Intel chip, a normal 8700k is a way better deal. https://www.anandtech.com/show/12945/the-intel-core-i7-8086k-review As for the OP, look for an 8600k if you don't want to spend the money on the 8700k. The extra cores are going to be worth it. Honestly the price seems really high for what you are getting.
  13. I am having a problem using LINDA with the MaddogX and my MCP Combo Boeing II. The displays will received the information from the sim, but for some reason none of the buttons work. LINDA shows everything is hooked up correctly. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
  14. I am having the same issue with the Maddog. None of the buttons work, yet the displays will show on the MCP and will change if you change them in the sim. Its really weird.

RC-12X. King Air 200 body, Beech 1900 wings tail and landing gear, -67 engines, and a crap ton of antennas. It's definitely something else.

I am in the military and we don't fly with it at all. To be fair, the Army focuses on rotary wing flight, and even though I fly fixed wing, it is a lot harder to get people to start thinking like that. It doesn't help that our aircraft, at least the few that I have flown, are not equipped with them. I would love to have one in my aircraft, I am sure it could help the frankenstein of the aircraft I am currently flying.

Here is my take on it. Flying by AOA is a good thing, however, in the situation of the 200LR, AOA would not matter. The 200LR has varying REF speeds to handle VMCA in the event of an engine failure during the GA phase of flight. Boeing wants you to have the extra speed to give you a larger safety margin because of this. AOA would not matter in this case as AOA will not tell you when you have VMCA'd the aircraft. You are correct. It is one of the rare aircraft where that is the case. Due to the shorter fuselage of the 200LR compared to the 300ER, the additional speed is needed for control ability reasons. A higher PA will result in less air moving over the wings at a given time, requiring a higher speed to be able to handle the asymmetric thrust in the event of an engine failure during a GA situation.

VREF is based on weight of the aircraft and not on weather. It is usually 1.3 times the stall speed for the configuration. Weather does not play into when an aircraft will stall, so there is no need. The ref speeds the FMS will provide are the correct ones.
  19. Got it working! Thank you again for help!
  20. Ok thank you! I will experiments a little more.
  21. I apologize as I am sure this is posted elsewhere. I did a search but I could not find a solution to my problem. I recently purchased a Vrinsight MCP ii Boeing and I cannot get it to work with the Majestic Q400 Pro for P3D V4. PMDG aircraft work fine, but no matter what I try nothing comes up with the Q400. I am sure it is something simple. Does it have to do with the VriSim program? I have no idea what aircraft to select when I start this for the Q400. Any help, including directing me where I need to be looking would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
  22. Looks like the windshield is de-laminating. That's what it looks like. I believe it has been said before.
