1. I only use a normal joystick with FSX and I was wondering if there is anyway to get an axis to contort the breaks? I've managed to get it controlling one side with differential breaks so is there anyway to get both side breaking on one axis? Thanks
2. Yes ofc it's easily hand flown but I like to get the autopilot back on personally and start getting through my check lists. My personal way of flying an approach depends on different things. First if I know the weather is bad ill start looking at a CAT 3. Second if its busy traffic wise ill also fly it CAT 3 so that if a go around is needed I simply press the TOGA button and the autopilot stays on the whole time. Very good for high work load situations. Even thought I am performing a CAT3 approach I still have full intention of disengaging the autopilot and throttle at about 100 above DA and fly it in manually. I never actually fly the CAT3 to the deck in good weather as from what I understand it can't be dove in real life as planes on the ground will be using the wrong holding points.
3. You normally get out back to the que but its a little different on FSX depending on what atc your using. On the ground when you push TOGA it will command take off thrust that you have set on the FMC. Depending in your throttle settings in the FMC options you might have to advance the throttles or it'll presume your are aborting the take off you can turn it off so it ignores your throttle position. For Go around it ignores your throttles when on auto throttle.
4. Remember the plane is already flying so you dont need large amounts of power for a go around as Spin737 says And also as soon as your press the TOGA button and the flaps and gear come up you will be climbing away pretty well. If the go around altitude is say 3000feet it wont take long to level out at 3000 and you want the autopilot back on and in control as soon as possible
5. Control your speed with your pitch as you climb out of the Go around but remember generally your plane will be light on fuel compared to a take off so it's going to climb like mad. When I'm doing a manual go around I disconnect the auto throttle and use it manually so that I can slow my climb and keep it under control until I have the auto pilot on and the plane is getting cleaned up to 0 flaps and gear up. Also if you know you will be performing a visual approach just stick to a cat1/2 ILS to save you some work
6. No you don't need to set it to App or nav I often leave it on map at all times during the flight. Hope this helps
7. How does saving with the NGX go when you reload it? Does it reload in the exact panel state after the 20s of hand flying I guess?

An I right that there is a programme that can save at different time intervals? To save me some annoyance when my machine throws a wobbly?

Thanks
8. FMC

I feel pretty at home around the FMC now but one think I want to be able to do if it is possible is to make a waypoint a certain distance and direction from the last is this possible?
Thanks
9. Would anyone be willing to download for me and email/send through Skype to me as this download just doesn't seen to want to let me get it
Thanks
10. when i try to download either of these i just get a message saying i don't have permission does it work for you guys? i have registered
11. Thanks guys havnt been near my sim machine for a couple of days but ill give both a try later thanks.
12. Hi guys I primarily fly the 800WL in British airways paint. Is there a non-winglet version anywhere or can anyone help me convert it to a non-winglet version thanks
13. Ok so when I plan a flight currently I use FSX flight planned make a vfr flight plan and use high airways. Is there a better programme for this maybe where I can incorporate STARs and SIDs? And also how about weather is there a better way of using real world weather then just letting FSX download it? And how can I plan what sort of head winds or tail winds ill be getting at cruise?

Thanks
14. It changes how fast the plane will complete the trip but also how much fuel will be used so I presume airlines are using lower and lower index ratings to save money in fuel. If a plane is running late it can increase the index rating to arrive more on time. (With the side effect of using more fuel)
15. Yes just the FMC
16. V1

So during flight planning I'm inserting all the info that can effect takeoff run such as wind, weight, engine de-rate and flaps yet I always pass V1 at a point where I just won't be able to stop on the runway anyone else have this problem?
17. I had to put my own one together I found the ones in the manuals pretty crap haha
18. I'm going to fly the NGX straight down an ILS later with a single A/P see what happens
19. Just thought I would share a funny flight I had today as a test after reinstalling FSX So my first flight after purchasing GSX ground crew and trying it out started from Gatwick and was going to fly a short hope down to St Mary's (very short runway for a laugh) I was in a rush as only had about an hour till I had to leave my house. Not much planning and just got the rout in the FMC pushed back started up flying through the check lists. Taxied out and got her into the air. Up to FL350 and into cruise for a short while. During the cruise and bugging of decent I was running around getting ready. Bad flight planning and not checking lead to a planned arrival fuel load of .5t of fuel. As I didn't have time for anything I jut continued on. Was cleared for a visual approach and fly a manual approach from about 2000ft down to 50 before I noticed a bravo crossing the rubbing was so TOGA armed and up I go. As soon as I raise the gear I get an engine failure in no1 engine due to no fuel flow. Instantly armed opened the cross flow valve and the engine started to relight and had two engines again. Climbed out to 1500 and performed a tight right hand pattern back to the field. On the base leg I had twin engine failure due to no fuel and instantly vs started to increase. I quickly raised flaps to F15 and just scrapped it into to the field and touched down for a perfect emergent landing on he field. How brilliant is the NGX and this has to have been one of my most interesting flights in it so far. Happy flying
20. I've experienced this and couldn't resolve it. I just had to restart flight
21. I'm kit trolling or trying to annoy just you seem to have a lot of hatred for time acceleration and just trying to understand why there are many many things unrealistic with simming and IMO it's a brilliant feature for getting more interesting flying into your available time. Nothing I said was to provoke or annoy apologies if I did. Happy flying
22. In the thread you said if you can't do it in a Cessna you don't do it in a sim so why do you leave the sim in not monitored?
23. So what's the difference between leaving your sim and speeding it up a bit?
24. Also when I fly the NGX I do all the planning startup takeoff and climb and during cruise just fool around on my mac but any cruise over an hour in length ill be x2 or x4 as I just don't want to sit there watching the blue era go past haha Happy flying
25. My mistake about the -800 i just wanted to get some sort of rules as regards when AP is turned on or off on landing/departure for example> Thanks sinchars68 ill start making sure that is where i park Thanks
