I am trying to create my home airport - KVYS - in WED. So far so good. Tedious process but a lot of fun. Things are lining up nicely and I know the end is close at hand. However, my dilemma is AI traffic. KVYS is a non-towered airport and I know i need to create a "tower" which I have done. I have also placed all the required taxi routes and the validation was accepted. However, I get NO AI traffic. So my questions: 1. Does XP 11 always create AI traffic? 2. Does X-Life interfere with AI traffic coded in XP 11? 3. Do I need to be patient and wait more than 15 minutes for AI traffic to appear? I have followed two great series on You-Tube and learned a great deal. My thanks to both Jan Vogel & On the Glidescope. Great source of learning. So that's my problem. I know eventually I will have that "ah-ha" moment. Any help in the mean time will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the quick reply....I agree on the "upgrade"...I have built PC's before and still might, but, I am currently leaning towards a purchase of a new custom rig...thanks again for the input.

OK guys, I need some advice. I am seriously thinking of replacing my somewhat dated PC for a new one since I switched last year exclusively to X-Plane. Now, I could tell you a fib and say I don't care about the eye-candy in X-Plane, just the great physics of flying. Being a real world pilot - (entirely GA) - I really enjoy the feel of X-Plane and YES- I want the eye-candy! Here's my dilemma...I could buy all the parts and put it all together, but big-boy responsibilities (work) doesn't allow for that. So, I have be looking and learning, and I found a company (no endorsement here) that builds PC's based on the demands of X-Plane. XForce PC is based in SC and I spoke with the owner today and was impressed with the truthfulness of his comments. My questions: 1. Has anyone had any experience with this company? 2. Does anyone have any suggestions for custom builds or maybe a different brand? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Glad to see this post..I switched last year from FSX to XP11 exclusively. Never looked back. I am a RW pilot and while the physics are the best there is, I still enjoy some good "eye candy". I have been working with Ortho4XP for some time and while some areas are stunning: Tampa/St. Pete, Northern Illinois & Kansas City metro, the southern California area I made was less than suitable? I also would like to know how to "fix" some elevation issues. The Sunshine Skyview bridge for instance is part underwater? Finally, when I place my ortho file in the custom scenery.ini, I know they go last, but sometimes it completely covers the airport?? Any help for an old-timer would be appreciated.

X-Camera..works great....I used EZDOK when I flew with FSX..now pretty much exclusive to X-Plane since last fall. Been using the program for quite awhile..after latest update, I am unable to start: Windows cannot access the specified drive..etc. I am logged on as administrator..all permissions are allowed. So I tried to un-install: Installation Error: System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): Access is denied at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo) at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start() at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(ProcessStartInfo startInfo) at A.B.d() at VFXCentral.MainWindow.A(Object , DoWorkEventArgs ) at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.OnDoWork(DoWorkEventArgs e) at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.WorkerThreadStart(Object argument) I wanted to uninstall thru VFX Central and tried modify/uninstall and got the above message?? Anyone else having any similar issues?? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Kevin and everyone at Chaseplane.. just installed the latest version and I am very impressed. Everything works as promised along with Trackir. No more using joystick programs and scripts. Just start it and go flying....the was it's supposed to be. Outstanding job. Thank you for delivering what you promised. Can't wait to "play" again this evening.

Kevin and everyone, You guys continue to amaze me. I have been involved with technology for a long time (maybe too long!). What you have done in a relatively short time is to be applauded. If this product continues to final as proposed, and no reason it shouldn't, I believe you have created one of the best add-ons for flight sims ever produced. You took a concept and push it to and broke thru the envelope! Congratulations and much continued success. I for one appreciate all you have done for the hobby!

Kevin, the workaround is quite good. I understand that Alpha2 will hopefully have the fix built-in. The combo of TrackIr and Chaseplane is quite stunning! I do have a question and I ask this with all due respect. Short of downloading the fix each time, I assume I need to start the fix each time? I can not see a way to have it start automatically with FSX. Am I thinking correctly?

i tried to download Southern California tonight and the download speed was slow (home internet speed is 180 mbps ) I keep getting error and was asked to post in forum. Great tutorial, but no where can I find what kind of images (extensions) are allowed. I tried last to use a photo (screenshot) for a problem I am having with downloading Southern California and using FTX Central. I have it stored in Amazon photos. I get this error: You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community. Any help would be appreciated.

That you manually tune and use ATIS/AWOS is very admirable. If you ever fly "real world", please do not use FSX (MS or Steam) as a data base, or any of the other dozen data sites sites that instruct they are not for use in real world flight planning. A $100,000 simulator cannot compete with real world FSS (Flight Service Station). Sims don't give briefings, PIREPS, TFRs or NOTAMS. n99wb, I could agree more about the fact that a sim cannot compare to real world flying. Jason is a great CFI and I have followed him for a long time. I have been using a sim for many year (almost 20) and when I started real world training, I immediately noticed the differences - mainly the "feel" of the real world airplane. But, I will say that flying on a sim, my time of training (and cost) was greatly reduced! FSX with some special add-ons along with PilotEdge comes pretty close. Here in Illinois, weather this time of the year doesn't always allow for flying, so using the sim keeps me sharp and ready a great day in the sky!

Bert, thanks for the response and the great find! But...I am looking for a way to change the coded frequency for AWOS/ATIS in some local airports here in Illinois? For example: KVYS in the real world uses 120.025 as the ATIS but FSX uses 118.25?? I know I have a large wish list but I am hoping to find a way to update the frequencies in FSX? Any thoughts?

I have been using FSX for many years and recently starting flying in the real world with a Piper Archer. I have an iPad I use in the plane and also at home connected to my simulator using bluetooth. Real world frequencies are gotten thru Garmin Pilot which is updated frequently and compared to sectional charts quite accurate. So, here is the problem. I believe FSX "hard-coded" the frequencies for many airports and they are not accurate. I know I can just click on ATC and let FSX pick the frequency but since I use Saitek's Radio Panel it would be nice to be able to update the program. I hope I have explained what I am looking for and if anyone has any ideas, I thank you in advance.

Will our current camera setting be available to use once the finished version of Chase Plane is available in 2017? I enjoy the Alpha and believe CP will be the standard for the future. Will our current setting carry over or will we need to reconfigure our settings?

I have been watching and reading the forums and websites regarding Voxatc. I want to purchase but, regardless of price i have a few questions..... 1. I don't normally fly out of busy airports, i.e.: KORD, KMDW, etc. Can I use the program at smaller airports even if there is no tower? 2. Will i be able to use the program for flight following? 3. I think i will be able to "add" facilities. Is that correct? I appreciate any and all help in advance.....thanks!

I had to re-install FSX and all my addons. When i re-installed my Carenado products that were from retail boxes, I was unable to see the structure view: So, I made sure everything was updated, Win8, Nvidia drivers...and still no luck. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure if the problem is in FSX and one of the .cfg's or with Carenado. I tend to believe it might be FSX as I do have 1 downloaded Carenado product and it seems fine. The problem is with the 4 boxed retail versions I own. Very confiusing and very frustrating.
