The End of Flight?
Yes, that is another way of looking at this and respect an think your argument is a valid one, and even might be successfully used in their defense. I still think that when they said that they would release a new scenery every 3 months, nobody in Microsoft meant or any of the costumers understood "we maybe do that, or just shut down in the next 4 months". The result is right here, with hundreds of people caught off guard. I think that a huge amount of people would never have bought the game if MS said that they might just release 1 or 2 dlcs and than shut down. Sorry J van E, i meant no harm, and i´m not a anti-microsoft guy...really! I just think that this particular decision was wrong and created a lot of false expectations...but again, sorry...i´m out! Edited again! It is not a "sue you" campaign. It is not a threat, that will happen... I like your posts and opinions, i just think that people and companies both have rights. And I´m really really done in this thread! See ya guys!

The End of Flight?
FALSE EXPECTATIONS AND MONEY BACK .................................. Hello Folks! Please, just let me get one thing out of the way. Some of the simmers know that i am a lawyer here in Brazil, and i'm first obligated to say that i´m not writing this to gather clients or anything (the "Flight Sim" community here is huge). My Office only works on criminal cases, and nothing else! I always tried to be as optimistic as possible about the game...i really like it, although i did not agree with some decisions they made. A lot of people spent a lot of money not only buying the game, but buying new hardware, upgrading their flight controls, buying TrackIR, and so on, living the expectation of having 1 new airplane per month, and 1 new dlc scenery every 3 months. That was what Microsoft announced... I really respect other peoples preferences, but i really don't like the other Flight Simulators available right now...don´t know how the law works in all of your countries, but here in Brazil, you can´t create expectations, make people buy software and new expensive hardware to enjoy what was officially promised to them(see Mr. Howard's interview). Some will say: "people still have their new graphics card, TrackIR, or cpu for other games", nobody told them to buy it. That is right, but a lot of them would never have bought them to play other games! My message to all you friends is, "don´t let people step on your expectations and rights...fight for them". As for me, if those guys don´t rethink the whole "shutting down" thing...well.. SEE YOU IN COURT MICROSOFT!

Hello Jim! I was really looking for a software that would allow me to do this. Did u noticed issues or conflicts? Is it stable?

The big Carbon Cub topic
Agree with you guys! Come on! What is so hard to understand that prices go up when the demand is high? That is it...the entire world economy works like that! Maybe someone should create a post "World Economy and Market Principles for MS Flight"! :Monkey: Just kidding.......ppleeaasseee don´t! -------------- Keep on Flying...and reading books! lol

Carbon Cub's new features help!
Humm...unfortunately i guess that is how some technology advances... I was never really sure if temperature was simulated in MS Flight...i have read in a post that we could measure it looking at the oil or engine temp. gauges with the airplane parked before a mission...i don´t know if it has any real effect during flight... Did you notice any effect using the carb. heat in the Cub? (at least close to the real effect)

Carbon Cub's new features help!
That would be great RoboRay! That would make the game even more interesting to a lot of simmers! Thanks Really cool idea! Wow! Quick and precise! That will help me toy around the plane, and make it fly well, until i understand why i have to do that...maybe on RoboRay´s tutorial! THANKS A LOT GUYS! --------------------- Keep on Flying!

The big Carbon Cub topic
When they released MS Flight, i was quite mad because they did´t add a jet to the game...but, you know...what´s the point of making a great scenery for us to fly by a beautiful waterfall at mach 1, using autopilot? Maybe later it will be nice to fly from Alaska to Hawaii in a jet...but i still have to complete my "all airport journey"! By the way, i just tried the new Carbon Cub using a 3D software and glasses!! ahhnnnn...just...wowww! :Hypnotized: PS: If this turns to be a "should have had" post...there goes my idea: "Next plane should come with a coupon for us to buy a fan to place strait at your faces"...you know...it would make it more realistic! :P

Carbon Cub's new features help!
Hello Folks! I´m wondering if somebody has any tips on how to use the new Carbon Cub radio, gps, the "rpm panel sticker" :P, mixture control and specially (in my case) the proper use of the "carb. heat"! Do all of the knobs in the digital gps/radio work? Oh, and i know that there are lots of tutorials in the web, and even in the "avsim" forum. But i´m looking for specific details and tips on how to make the most out of the new Carbon Cub! ------------------------- Keep on flying!

The big Carbon Cub topic
Oh yeah! I'm no real life pilot, but i think it is the first dlc plane where the fuel mixture that have a really noticeable effect...not to mention that now i have something new to figure out, like the carb heat and how to make a full use of the digital gps/radio! I really don´t use those instruments in real life, apart from a simple gps! Well, it is always good to learn! ----------------------- Keep on Flying!

Extremely persistent law
Hello FatIgor! Well, i know that with the mountains and all, those clandestine jobs get harder...what i always do is, first of all, only fly during the night...i never ever turn any lights (not even the panel) or radio on on NEVER pass 100 ft from the ground! If i have an obstacle that i have no idea how high it gets (and of course i can go around it) i fly as close as possible to the ground...literally almost hitting the trees! It´s been a while since i saw a "law enforcement" plane! Well, worked for me! Good luck and keep on flying!

The big Carbon Cub topic
Hello Mike! I sincerely respect and understand your opinion. We as costumers, really don´t like to wait a month for a virtual cockpit, or buy something that we know will be half price 2 days later! I is almost frustrating...almost! In the other hand, technically speaking, their marketing strategy, from MS point of view, is really really good. I wish i had a company that days before i release a little tiny product (compared to everything that MS does), my costumers end up speculating in forums, communities, etc. And it is not just that...their marketing strategy was so good that almost every simmer, that regularly play the game of course, bought their product almost instantaneously! If you look at the posts there were people desperate looking at the marketplace minutes before the release...and i bet most of them bought the dlc without even thinking about the price, even though it is true that a lot of people really can´t afford to buy them without thinking. Anyways...from the marketing point of view that is genius...sadly for us! --------- Keep on Flying!

Adding missing airports to the "Plan G" flight-planner
Hello folks! I finally cleared the "main" Anchorage cluster (128 airfields in total, from 7AK9 to PAWD)...i noticed that AA30, 08AK, AA33, AK86, 36AK were missing in Plan-G too. ------- Keep on Flying!

Alaska - All Airports Journey
OMG! I just did it folks! The main cluster in Anchorage is cleared! I´ll never, ever, ever do a cluster of 128 airfields, with less than 02 nm close to each other, again! And i really hope to not have missed 1 or two! Well, the good side is after clearing the worst part (not in beauty), things can only go uphill from here! I got tons of pictures, but for today i´ll just post the area covered (photo 1), the north main cluster (photo 2), the south cluster (photo 3)...those "zoom in" pictures don´t show all of the airports (quite a few are isolated) and a picture of the last landing in Seward (PAWD): ANCHORAGE ZOOM CLUSTER 1 ZOOM CLUSTER 2 LAST LANDING ---------- Keep on flying!

Alaska - All Airports Journey
Hi Mr_Duessel! Thanks for the tip about the spb.-file! I really had no idea where that information was stored! Every time i land in a airfield i check my "pilot stats" to see if the landing counted in the "unique airport" count. This spb file will be a great tool for me, because before i began "the journey" i had flown jobs, free exploring flights, all sort of things, and because of this, sometimes, when i land at an airport, it actually doesn't count as "unique". That always makes me wonder if i had already landed there before the journey. For now, i landed at 345 unique airports (308 - Alaska, and 37 - Hawaii). In other cases, if i´m landing at an airstrip that i really never landed before, and i mess up my landing and end up a little outside the runway (end or sides), the landing counts in your "general landing" stats, but not at your "unique airport" stats, as the first counts every time you stop at the ground or water (anywhere without crashing), and the second counts the exact point that the plain stops (or reaches 10kts or below...sometimes a 30 kts head wind can make the system not register the landing). So, when it doesn't count, i just takeoff and try one more approach. Yes, i think that should be around 740 airports. I never seen anybody confirm that information, but sounds about right. I have been using the G-map iPad software, the Plan-G that is a great free app (check this thread), and the MS FLIGHT map to plan my flights. We have been noticing that a lot of airports that are in the real chart, are not in MS Flight (sometimes with different ID codes), and sometimes they are in MSFlight but not in the chart! So due to the problem that in MS Flight, some airstrips only shows up if you zoom all the way in, it´s really hard nobody (that i know) have the exact number. As you pointed, i had the same problems with the water landings, but i found a 80% accuracy method. First you have to have that head display on (shows compass, fuel, throttle, etc). The second thing is that the only way to be sure that you landed at the water runway, as far as i know, is when you stop the aircraft and the little FUEL icon shows up at the top right corner. And the third and most important thing is to check the airport map for the runway heading. So, head to the seaport and check the map...land anywhere on the seaport spot but heading the same direction as the runway...just think of the runway as a circle, and all you have to do is land from the correct heading. When the airplane stops, look for the fuel icon to confirm...it works most of the time! Oh, during the winter a lot of the lakes freeze, so you can try with other airplanes! I really, really wanted to keep track of them, but the journey alone has been quite overwhelming. The only thing i do is, when i notice a difference between the Plan-G chart and the MS Flight map, i take notes and post them at the Plan-G thread to help RoboRay change the database. Besides that, i only write down all the airport IDs that i plan to land in the day, and cross them out after landing! ---- Again, thank you so much for the "spd" file tip! ---- Keep on Flying!

Adding missing airports to the "Plan G" flight-planner
Hi Folks! Today in my "Alaska: all airports journey" i began tackling the Anchorage main airfield "cluster"...a region with about 120 airfields, more or less. I was able to fly the first 73 airfields in my plan until now and i noticed that some airfields missing. I´m really sorry not to post more detailed information about the airfields today...kind of tired after all those flights...but i promise to double check the info tomorrow. Most of the area i´m flying is between and a little south of the BGQ-Big Lake-VOR and AK53 airport , and I used the latest database (posted above): NOT IN PLAN-G DATABASE, but in MS FLIGHT MAP: Airfields : AK92, AA05, 97AK, AA85, AA06 (is on database - just missing info), 79AK (i guess it is a seaport, but the database say "grass" rw), AK85, AK99. Seaports: 66AK, AA85, 29A (island lake), AA11 (Misty Lake), AA01 (west beaver), 91AK (kucera), AA02 (horseshoe lake), 86AK (HOPPE'S), L95 (JONES LANDING), 85AK (MARION), 6A7 (BROCKER LAKE) NOT IN MS FLIGHT but in PLAN-G DATABASE AK79, 7AK4 Difference in ID CODE: one airfield were Plan-G is A89/ MsFlt is 41AK; I hope it helps...sorry again for not searching for all info today...no time left...but if you guys need any specific ones i can post it tomorrow. ------ Keep on Flying!

Alaska - All Airports Journey
Hi folks! Just a brief update: Today i have been able to clear 73 "Anchorage" airfields...about 60 more to go in my Anchorage flight plan (main cluster)! I´ll list them later...too much for today! Things i´ve learned: don´t try to fly these "cluster" using the RV-6...i had to use the Cub because there are tons of really short runways with huge trees around it; if you are flying in the winter is easier because most lakes are frozen, so you don´t need to switch airplanes...the cub gets the job done; it is really hard to keep taking off and landing 30 seconds later, don´t loose sight of the next runway, or else you have to spin a little to find the airfield again...it really can make you dizzy...after the first 10 takeoffs i decided to change from winter to summer because besides having to fly the up/search/down pattern, the runways are quite harder to find during winter...so...with that many problems already, there was no point making this part of the trip harder! After that, i rreeeaalllyyy beg the DEV team to make a Carbon Cub - Ultra Anchorage Deluxe, that includes a sick bag (sent by mail) :bad: ! Keep on flying!

Alaska - All Airports Journey
Hello Folks! Well, yesterday i planned to begin to tackle Anchorage, what i consider one of the most exhausting regions to "clear", just because there are too many airfields and seaports very close to each other. And so i started...the first problem was that i was "parked" at "Togiak" (PATG), 400 NM from "Stephan Lake Lodge" (AK61), from where i planned to begin the "clearing"...well...after a 2:20 hrs flight over a huge chain of mountains with not much new to see, i finally got to "Stephan Lake Lodge" where i had to land very carefully because the runway was simply too short. Due to the length of most of the runways, as well as the obstacles blocking the runway's optimum glide slope, i had to change the airplane to the Super Cub, for a while. So yesterday i was able to clear 19 more airfields: AK61, 49AK, 02AK, AK34, AK72, 78AK, 3AK7, 3AK1, AK08, PAUO, AK90, AK69, AK57, 2X2, AK67, AK68, AK59, 48AK and the abandoned "Jonesville Mine" (PAJV). For the first long stretch i chose the "clear weather" setting, simulating those beautiful "blue and white" dry winter days that i enjoyed so much when i lived in Massillon-OH, as well as Washington D.C.
