Anyone else having problems with mega slow downloading from FSS (Flight Sim Store?)
Those poor servers are probably getting hit hard... Of course, it doesn't help that we're all trying to download entire regions like the 3,6 gig download of Norway I'm waiting on. It's a good thing it's a month long sale. Maybe that will spread the heavy loads a bit.

Man, that's a tough read to start the week. Wishing you the best of luck and hopefully a few more good days to come yet.

Navigraph Extension Pack for the S550 Citation II released!
I've done some short flights yesterday like EHAM-EDDL, and didn't really notice any added drop after installing the expansion. Stayed nicely around 35 where I expected it. But then, no two systems are alike (I'm using an iMac) and no two FSX installs are the same either. I haven't even read the manual yet, thanks to that excellent video that was posted here earlier. It seems to be working as I expect it to.

Navigraph Extension Pack for the S550 Citation II released!
Just a quick update, the pack is now also available at Just Flight. Might be handy for others who prefer to use PayPal or have rewards points to trade in. Like I did, whoo, 80 percent discount

Navigraph Extension Pack for the S550 Citation II released!
Has it popped up on any other sellers' pages yet? Carenado still hasn't seen the light with regards to PayPal payments. Even with the bugs, I might just purchase it now at the reduced price and use it later.

S550 Citation II Full review and systems tutorial
Yeah, that was a bit of a surprise to me as well, mainly because standalone avionics isn't their thing... plus, it's already their most expensive aircraft. Still, I might very well buy that upgrade. Did another flight this afternoon from KSEA (Seattle) to KSFO (San Francisco) and it was a very fun flight. Great to be back in the cockpit of the CII.

S550 Citation II Full review and systems tutorial
Excellent review. I got mine yesterday after being rather on the fence. I'm glad I got it - it's awesome! I've been a Citation II fan ever since the old one from Eaglesoft under FS9, which was one of my most flown planes. Obviously, that one just won't cut it these days. I got it from JF and did a few longer flights like on New Zealand NZNS-NSNV, in the US, Bozeman, Montana to Denver, Colorado, (all excellent ORBX scenery), also a nice ride from San Fransisco - LA, some flying around the Netherlands... A saturday well spent :-) A combination of day and night flights in real world weather. My first impressions are very good. a sleek looking, nicely detailed jet up to the usual standard of eye candy we expect form Carenado. Nice modelling and texturing in the cabin and VC. A joy to sit in, thanks to the excellent visibility through the large windows. It's a fast aircraft with very nice handling. It'll get you to your destination quick and you can fly into and out of smaller airports which gives great flexibility. She handles very docile with no unexpected issues. The avionics seem to work well together with planning and executing a variety of GPS and NAV routes. The FMS helps with approaches and gives good insights into the fuel burn, weights, etc. I don't really worry about those much anyway. One thing that pleasantly surprised me is how nicely it plays with my FSX FPS. I didn't really have any noticeable drops, even with some decent weather like the REX clouds. YMMV of course. I REALLY hope there'll be some other repaints in the near future, as I expect this to be my favourite aircraft for a while to come. All in all, it's a fun to fly aircraft with enough depth for my personal needs and wants. About the only issue I have is the lacking documentation, which means you'll need to fiddle with the knobs and menus a bit to figure out what works how. Carenado could and should do a bit better job at documentation for people new to the aircraft given this price point, but I doubt us old timers will encounter many problems.

FSX Steam Released! (80% off sale?)
I also got a copy. Might as well at that price. Hey, if nothing else, it might encourage them to tinker a little more with it.

Lost Sale
Carenado's utterly annoying payment 'system' is a great source of irritation for me as well. Just about every other flightsim store uses PayPal, yet Carenado refuses to use it. It's easy, it's efficient - and as a result I've bought hundreds of euros worth of FS add-ons. I don't have nor want a credit card. It's PayPal or no sale for me. I wouldn't mind this so much if Carenado released it to other resellers at the same time. But no, Carenado wants to have their cake and eat it too, it seems. But they definitely lose my sales if I find other addons that I can actually *buy*!
