  1. I am not a programmer, but I would like to see someone develop an Ipad application that can be connected to control the drone camera in Microsoft Flight Simulator. I am imagining individual controls for position, zoom, rotation and speed, but also a combo control to control all three if the user would like. This kind of app would be much appreciated for content creators. Especially with the new flight control replay coming soon, you could really fine-tune the camera sequences to your liking.
  2. Hi folks, Are there any software that helps me calculate the landing speed & distance for my flights? Thanks!
  3. Dauntless Software has a pretty good pay-ware app which you can use to download Plates from any airport in the world, which will "up" that level of realism. https://www.dauntless-soft.com/
  4. 2 requests 1) offline terrain vs online terrain 2) How multi screen setup will work
  5. Glass cockpits with different types of Garmin hardware in civil airplanes, a 787 in the ultimate edition, also updated IFR charts. I really love the new world map compared to fsx when it comes to flight planning. The aircraft range feature is innovative that helps me decide which aircraft to fly. Also real-time weather changing. It’s the little things that come stock that you had to work really hard for in FSX and X-plane, also that you would have to pay extra money for.
  6. The last dev-log posted by Microsoft a couple days ago mentioned the game would launch on the 18th. It would be very surprising to see Microsoft delay the release now. Also Windows store now says I can open it up on the 17th...
  7. I do believe the real-world traffic feature in Flight simulator could be used to help with real-world disappearing aircraft, could it not? If Ai planes are located in game as they are in real-life and ai planes fall to the ground like what would happen in a real airplane, like due to an engine failure that could not have been recover, Flight Simulator could be used to help find the location(or at least an estimate) of the downed plane, especially if the emergency happened in real life. This is assuming that AI traffic will follow real-world planes into the ground, but if the air traffic simply lands at the arrival airport that it was supposed to, then it probably won’t work.
  8. Thanks for the response, I did not realize I didn’t need to do anything else.
  9. Pretty awesome stuff. How does one apply for the beta? I can't find anywhere a place to, and it is very hard for me to login to flightsimulator.com. The website has been incredibly slow and will timeout when trying to login. Edit: Invitations are closed now. That sucks. Applied for the alpha when it opened on day 1 but never got an invitation. Looked all over the website on how to apply for the beta(website was super slow), and now no more inivitations. Oh well, what's another 3 weeks?
  10. Hi folks, Flight Simulator is the best video game series to make video content on, in my opinion. In the past, you have several different types of cameras to work with, you could rewind time to an extent, and many different types of views. One feature I enjoy in X-plane that I don't believe FSX had, is the amount of time it gave you to rewind your flight and record your best moments, letting you focus on your flight while also recording live if you wanted to. It would be really cool to have this feature in Flight Simulator, along with cinematic cameras. Can anyone in the know(if NDA is lifted) explain what types of features allow content creators to make videos with? Types of cameras, views, etc Thanks!
  11. I thought about the Standard tier as it's the cheapest version, and I felt like what the odds would have been that I would visit the deluxe tiered- airport very often, but in my opinion, the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner alone makes the premium upgrade worth it, as well as the other planes you get. I think I'll get more value out of the planes being included than the scenery, although the upgraded scenery WILL be nice. I had no idea the 787 would be included, as I recall not very many mentions by Microsoft. Pretty good idea, to have another "updated" product line to replace the soon-to--be-retiring 747-8. Also something stands out while looking at the aircraft comparison chart(Sorry if it's been brought up before): Cessna 172 skyhawk G1000 is included in the standard version, but the default 172 Skyhawk is only available in the deluxe version. Shouldn't it be the other way around, since most people learn the default plane before learning G1000? Unless Microsoft really wants you to learn the aircraft with the newest hardware, etc
  12. Sorry, I must be getting old. I need common sense in my head. Sim, not Game! If you ain't simming, you ain't winning! 🙂
  13. Do we know if the 747-8 and the A320 will be the only jets in the game? At the moment they have been the only ones advertised. I have been looking around for this information. I would love to see a stock Embraer regional jet in this game.
  14. I remember watching one of my Ultimate Traffic 2 AI planes almost at a 180 angle trying to descend to the runway. Did pretty much the same thing as you. Pretty hilarious to watch actually. I took off From KSEA and watched Alaska's MD-80 plane pitch down to about a 160 degree angle. I'm surprised it still landed. Either ATC gave it a high descent or the pilot was a new guy :-)
  15. Contacted my local airport administration and they sent me a few examples of their agreement with Southwest Airlines, very helpful. They said that since the airport is a public use airport, public records are made upon request, Got some great starting information, so if anyone else has any information I'll definitely write them down.
  16. Because the project is not really "there" yet. I can't just tell them I need information because I'm working on a project. I just want to research so I know how to base the project on. Just trying to look for ideas, that's all...
  17. Still searching on google, but not anything that I want to spend a huge amount of time on.. Anyone else have ideas? Sorry to bring this back up, but would love to find information about this. Any kind of information would be great. Specifically I would like to know a few things: What types of fees are covered in Airport - Airline agreements? How long are typical contracts? Does anyone get any kind of benefits from these contracts? How do these agreements effect airport growth? Right now a few of these Q's I don't need now but it'd great to know so I can plan out when the time comes.
  18. I guess I was asking for too much. At this point what I need is what kind of things Airports charge Airlines. I not tried it yet - I have tried other searches but nothing that interests me - guess I'll have to scale back on my requirements. I'm willing to look anywhere that can provide useful information. Those PDF's are definitely interesting - I will have a look at them. Thank you. Anyone else who has any kind of useful information that could help me, do share! Much appreciated.
  19. Hey guys it's been a while since I've posted here, so sorry if this is the wrong forum. Anyway I've been trying to research for a pretty big project of my own. Is there a website that, well describes contract negotiations between Airports and Airlines? I need to know what type of prices they negotiate(gate fees, etc), however I'm having trouble coming up with what goes on. If you guys really want to know I'm starting work on the framework of a potential Airport Management Simulator, text-sim, PC game-based. Airport Tycoon is my main inspiration. I have the story-board all planned out. I have some basic stuff in, however I just want to know what kind of things Airports and Airlines negotiate in, and if there's a website dedicated to this type of stuff - it could really help me out a lot. I really have nothing to show right now however once I understand a little more about airport management and get the basic framework down I'll show later what I have done soon. I may use this a blog - I have an old word-press website that I've never really been interested in so I'll probably use this if people are interested in following. Thanks, help is much appreciated!
  20. I would definitely consider P3D if there was a personal consumer version available, but for now, alas, I have to stick with FSX. I would go PMDG if their planes weren't so expensive! I'll definitely look at the other planes suggested. Is Ariane any good?
  21. Sup all. I've taken some time off but now I want to get back to flight simulation. I'm looking for a payware 737/700/800/900 as the title suggests. I've searched google but I'm not sure I have found what I want. I am interested in hearing your thoughts about which 737 700 addon I should buy. Not looking for freeware, but payware 737/700s. Thank you for your input!
  22. I have FSX Gold but when I copied the files of both cds it would take a long time so I thought I'd try to see if I could activate the demo product into the full version.
  23. Or, I could just look for the dvds I already own... for free.
  24. I just recently installed the FSX Demo on my laptop to see if I can get FSX working again. Is it possible to activate FSX into the full version from the demo? Or do I have to have the DVD to fully install FSX? If I can activate the demo, how do I do it?
  25. Apparently I'm not permitted to upload BMP's. So I guess I'm done with screenshots.
