  1. Edit: Sorry issue where my speakers. Works now, thank you!
  2. I'm also planning on streaming! I tried to do it on ustream and I think that works out other than trying to stream a specific window with the Desktop Presenter! Is twitch.tv easier to set up!?
  3. I usually do the flight in one shut, in real time! So I won't do a long haul flight unless I know I will be near my house for longer periods of time! But then I guess I enjoy more shorter flights! They are more fun to me!
  4. Does anybody know what I can do with this link? http://rw.liveatc.net:18009/?opts=-R-D Can I listen to VATSIM ATC on Teamspeak with this or something? What's a .rwc file?
  5. I believe the default ATC in FSX isn't really capable or smart enough to handle large amounts of traffic, hence the frequent go arounds. There are add-ons available that will smooth out the distances of the airplanes etc. so that go arounds don't happen as often, I'm not sure what the names are though.
  6. Congratulations! Its an amazing product!! Never really had a chance yet to try the Live Camera or Effects, but I use it for the Weather Engine all the time!
  7. Why don't you just add 8 hours to the local time of the departure airport..and then do the conversions to the arrival airport? (you just did it yourself when you wrote the thread)
  8. Ok, thank you! I will try that later today!
  9. I purchased FSUIPC on simarket. Once I download and install FSUIPC it tells me in order to register it I need to re-run the installer. So I did that and I guess it re-installs it again and at the end it asks you to register it. I did that as well and when I go back to the sim and go to FSUIPC settings in the add-on menu, it still says its unregistered!! How do I properly register it? Do I need to uninstall it first? (I have no idea how to uninstall it either because there is no uninstaller in the Windows software list in the Control Panel!)! Thank you!
  10. Hey, so when I do a flight (I fly jets so I don't use the joystick unless I'm on the ground, taking off or landing) my joystick and throttle (Saitek Pro-52) stops working! I notice that when I want to land and I can't use it! I did some tests and I noticed that my pc still recognizes the joystick no problem, but when I go to prepar3d controller setting the joystick just disappeared! It seems like prepar3d just randomly ignores it after a while! The strange thing is that at the beginning everything is always fine! Only after a certain amount of time the joystick does not get recognized! I also tried using a different plane once I noticed it doesn't work and its the same thing, so it's not plane specific! Any ideas? Should I ask this on the fsx forum as well?
  11. Do I need to have FSX installed to use the migrator tool?
  12. I hear of that one as well! How about when flying in Europe? Or is it only North America?
  13. Ha, Sorry! Maybe I just need to give it another try to see if it can work! The app "AirTrack" is a perfect example on how fsx to iPad integration should be done!
  14. The problem is that AirDisplay sucks! It doesn't even work full screen on the iPad that got released a year ago, that's why I try to avoid using the iPad as a second monitor! Wish there just was a native iPad app as an EFB!
  15. How does the Aivlasoft EFB work? Do you need to install a plugin into FSX and then get the iPad app for it!? Also could it work on Prepar3D?

I got SB4 working Prepar3D without any problems either, but I didn't use the migrator tool, i probably did it in a more complicated way! lol I read somewhere that there is some work being done to make a VATSIM client for Prepar3D!

That's exactly what I was always saying! Maybe PMDG has some kind of thing with Boeing so naturally they may have some "beef" with LH. But that's beside the point. The point is that big add-on companies are slowly making great add-ons for Prepar3D, such as Aerosoft, Orbx and potentially even FSLabs (they planned to do a version of their upcoming A320 for training purposes on a different platform other than FSX, most likely on Prepar3D). Now if we only could get a supported VATSIM client, that would be even more amazing
  18. Wow, thanks everybody! Lots of great replies.
  19. I just wanted to do a follow up in terms of connecting to VATSIM using Squawkbox on Prepar3D! Everything worked fine using the installation method I mentioned at the beginning of the thread, the only problem I found was that when you connect using Squawkbox I couldn't see other airplanes! Here is why: When you install Squawkbox it tries to find MicrosoftFlight Simulator. I didn't have it installed so when I just told it to install Squawkbox itself. That didn't install the textures airplanes that came with it (simobjects/airplanes). What I did installed FSX then re-installed Squawkbox, found the texture airplanes (folders Squawkbox and VIP inside sim objects/airplanes) and copied them from fsx into Prepar3D. Then I noticed when loading Prepar3D and afterwards connecting to vatsim with Squawkbox, Prepar3D constantly froze. What I did was made a copy of prepar3d.exe and renamed it to fsx.exe on the root folder and then use fsx.exe to startup prepar3d and that solved every issue I had! Now I can fly online and also see all the other airplanes flying on Vatsim inside Prepar3D! I actually uninstalled FSX and made a backup copy of the airplane texture folders so that in the future I can install Prepar3D and fly online without installing Fsx! Hope that helps anybody trying to get it to work
  20. yeah, but I meant when flying online like on VATSIM. If its really that easy then I have nothing to worry about then! Thank you!
  21. You know when you listen to real ATC and the pilot contacts the approach controller and the controller gives him the runway to land, altimeter and the latest ATIS identifier, how does the pilot know what STAR to use for that runway? Will the ATIS message tell them? Will the previous controller told him? Or will the pilots have that all prepared ahead of time? I'm asking this because when I fly into airport and I get the runway information for landing, I have no clue what STAR to use because I don't know which one the right one is. It only helps using software like FS Commander because you can visually see the STAR approaches that us relevant to your position, but in a real aircraft I doubt they have that luxury! Thanks!

    +1
  23. Hi, I'm planning on downloading the demo for X-Plane again (the first time I haven't had much success but that was before I got my joystick), to see how it feels like! Are there any good Airbus Add-ons (perhaps very similar to Airbus X Extended) for X-Plane? Thank you!
