  1. I remember Roy going back to the FS98 days. He made some great panels. Prayers for a speedy recovery Roy.
  2. I fly every week and have for years. It use to be dogs we're kept in the hold and needed papers from a vet prior to flying. In the last 5 years I've seen a massive amount of people flying with dogs. Southwest was wrong period. Why? They do not make people prove by a doctor that they have a condition for preboard. I fly many airlines including Southwest. Southwest by far has the most preboards with supposedly medical condition than anybody out there. How I know they don't check? I'm A list Preferred on Southwest. A month ago they had a computer glitch. I'm supposed to be checked in automatically in A section. When I got my boarding pass I was last in C. When I called Southwest told me to go to ticketing and tell them I need preboard. I did. Never asked for proof. I really despise Southwest. They use to be a great airline but ended up like all the others and to some point worse. I've been on flights where dogs have urinated and defecated on Southwest flights. I've seen two dogs get into fights on a flight.
  3. Regarding cabin temp, that isn't aircraft specific. It's controlled on the flight deck. The 767 can be as hot or cold as the flight crew wants it to be.
  4. I fly every week for work. I flew on a United 787 in First class this past Feb. The ride was quieter and smoother than the 777. The first class cabin was very comfortable. The air filtration system is incredible. You feel refreshed and not like you've been in a beer can for hours. The large Windows with electronic shade is awesome. The Captain allowed my wife and I on the flight deck prior to departure. With as many flights I've been on, the 787 was hand down the best for a twin.
  5. I'm 47 and fly every week for work. I've only been placed in a holding pattern twice. Both due to weather. The second time came just a couple months ago when KTPA was having storms right over the airport. You will find most holding situations due to weather than congestion. I would say set the percentage depending on the weather and where you are flying too. Florida on Summer afternoons, raise. Florida in the winter, lower
  6. I fly weekly for work. Typically get first class window unless I fly no class Southwest. If you want a great experience, fly the 787 first class. Its incredible. I love it over the 777 first class cabin. Back to window vs aisle, I'm 6'4" the aisle allows you to stretch out a leg better. The downfall is that I seem to get someone with the bladder the size of a grape in the middle or on the window getting up all the time. The window you can put on your headphones and put your head against the side and go to sleep.
  7. I've been using it since it launched exclusively for FS9. Overall, I like the program over using Rex Weather. I use Rex clouds with ASE. There is a lot of customization you can do with ASE to have it to your liking. My issues with ASE are you can be on takeoff roll in rain. Halfway down the runway the rain stops. Then its starts raining again at rotation. This only happens sporadically. Another issue I have is you can be climbing out and have no clouds above you with sun but still have rain. The last issue is I live not far from our airport. The weather will be different from what we are experiencing. The runways will also be different for traffic than what is happening in real time.
  8. I haven't seen one of these posts in a while. Look if your going to leave, then just leave. What are you looking for when you say I'm leaving? Attention? Wanting people to say "Please don't leave us"? I remember back in the day a certain panel designer was leaving almost every week because they got butt hurt with some criticism. He would announce that he's leaving. Then he'd be back. Who cares what people say. So what if somebody doesn't like something you produced. Did you do it for them or you did it for yourself? The only person that matters is you. If you did it for others then you will always end up where you are now. So I suggest to suck it up. Don't worry what people say and enjoy the hobby or what ever you like to do.
  9. Maybe ask on their facebook page. I found pics and a download link to a drop box. Unfortunately the link was broken. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10205111055489830&set=g.1613935175492260&type=1&theater
  10. I remember being on the 727-100's in 1982. UPS bought the planes but had Orion, Ryan and Evergreen pilots flying them. The DC-8s came along with the 747 classics. SDF was a small airport then. Seeing the growth was amazing. UPS and DHL bought the IPX certificate from IPX then UPS bought it completely in 1987. That's how they got the 5X designation. UPS was the fastest formed Airline. At one point they considered training existing employees to be pilots rather than hiring from outside the company. People think Fed Ex was the first overnight air company. UPS was doing it before the great depression. They stopped during the depression but then started back up long before Fed Ex with Red Label and Blue Label Air. They used existing belly space of other carriers to deliver the packages. Seems like yesterday I was there for the first new build 757 PF in 1987.
  11. It's not "vs." thread. I enjoy aviation. Any Aviation is good. Seen the posted video, asked a question? That's all it was. Thank too for the add on guidance for fsx/p3d
  12. Off Topic: I never tried Xplane after simming since 1986. The traffic and the airport in your video, is that typical of X plane? Is there plenty of freeware available like with MSFS? If so I may have to give it a whirl. Thanks
  13. Johan, maybe its a placebo like back in the day when a new version of FSUIPC was released. As soon as a new version was out the forums had posts of increased frame rates :) Maybe because my fs9 was so corrupted over the years that it looks way better. Who knows. I did fire up fsx and my fs9 looks like it has more autogen. MY FSX has zero addons or tweaks. everything is maxed in settings. I took screenshots but for some reason I cannot upload them here. https://www.flickr.com/photos/153551788@N08/shares/559123 https://www.flickr.com/photos/153551788@N08/shares/w36556
  14. In the FS9.cfg file I changed this setting. TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=10 I have to dig thru my Terrain.cfg and Autogen to see what I changed there. I
  15. Hi Sascha, I'll look for it. I travel every week for business so not on my sim computer at the moment. It was a combination of things in the autogen file, terrain.cfg and FS.cfg file. I'll be home Thursday and send them to you. Thanks for EVO
  16. Ian and Johan, Both of you have been around for a long time. Johan, You had a website that had some great files I had used. Ian, I understand what your saying. I've probably devoted over 40 hours reinstalling fs9. I know I don't have nearly as many add-ons as you have. I may have to take both of your advice and make the jump to FSX or p3d. The panel thing is the only thing really holding me back. I have three panels, one for the DC-8 71/73, one for the 727 which have custom gauges and the RFP 747 classic that I've added on too. These panels I cant migrate to FSX or P3D. Maybe I startrt playing with them to get them to work. Jeff
  17. Good Morning All, I had a failure of my hard drive a couple weeks ago. I had backups but when moving that drive disappeared. It may have been a godsend. My backup of fs9 was loaded with 13 years worth of tweaks, textures and programs. I thought I had the best I could get out of it. I had bought an I6700K, Corsair 16mb ram, Z170 MB, two Samsung 850 SDD's and Nvidia GTX1070 Video card in September 2016. I added a Samsung 55" 4 k led tv as display. Since my backups were gone, I upgraded to a clean install of Windows 10. I reinstalled FS9 from scratch with add-ons over the last 2 weeks. I converted ORBX textures to work in FS9. I like it better than GE Pro. I used an Autogen tweak. I have Autogen that rivals FSX. Rex Over drive and ASE. UT USA, Canada Alaska and Europe. Custom AI traffic I spent some time on. FS Global Mesh. Then reinstalled all my sceneries and Textures. I think my old install had a corrupt Terrain CFG along with a lot of other things. The blurries were horrible even after tweaking till the cows came home. The Autogen wasn't great and not much of it even though the settings ere turned up. Frames were good but had periods of stutters like something was taking long to load. The new install is awesome. Everything runs smooth as butter. Virtually zero blurries. I think that was a fs9 limitation. Everything loads incredibly fast. The Autogen is something else. Its like a whole new sim. Point to this is if you have an old install like I had and tweaked so much you forgot what you did. If you added textures that were great 12 years ago and forgot even what you added, it may be time to rebuild from scratch. I had a Windows 7 Pro that too was tweaked and tweaked again. I'm very happy with my outcome. I have frames 60 with no drops anywhere in full screen (60hz limitation) in windowed I'm in the 200 FPS with zero stutters. I know we have FSX and P3D. Even with my system, I could never get where I wanted with either game. Mostly because of panels I love in FS9 that wont work in FSX or P3D. Right now, I'm very happy with my FS9 install with Windows 10.
  18. Happy for you. I can't say the same.
  19. I have followed all procedures and even went well above and beyond providing information. My goal In this post is maybe someone higher up at Aerosoft doesn't know the poor service is happening and hopefully help me get the orders I've purchased. Those who mentioned having backups, yes I had them. I also moved into a new house. During the move my Saitek yoke, throttles and rudders went missing. My backup drive was also in that box. Then I upgraded to Windows 10 which bricked my computer. I had to reinstall everything. The only company that I've dealt with is a Aerosoft that I've had issues with.
  20. So poor service to you is ok. Thanks Jimm...
  21. It's been over 2 weeks now that I've been trying to access my previous orders off Aerosoft. They changed their store in February. I've had an account there since 2005. I couldn't log in because they changed the store. I followed directions to retrieve account information and got no response multiple times. Checked spam and junk with no response. Then I emailed them. 4 days later they respond with a request for more information. I responded immediately and they took another day to respond. So they found my information. I was able to log in. Now it shows I have no orders.... I follow the directions there to find old orders. Guess what no old orders. I mail again within 15 minutes of their previous email. They take another day to respond asking for more information. I respond immediately giving them every email address I had, phone number I had and street address I had. Yep over another day later they respond with the directions to retrieve old orders off their site.... I told them I already did that..... i just sent them another email 20 minutes after they responded to my last one. How much you want to bet I don't hear from them until next week with another BS email? Word of advice stay away from purchasing from Aerosoft. Companies like Flight1, Rex, Simmarket and others respond right away with no issues. Aerosoft service really is terrible!!!
  22. Apples to Apples all the aircraft I mentioned are certified to be flown with two crew members. This is a video game. The reality factor is up to each individual. You left out the engineer being responsible for making coffee and heating the food on cargo flights too 😂 I'm for a 747 classic with engineers panel. A DC-8 and 727 panel with engineers panel too.
  23. an update of the RFP 747 classic would solve this. As far as 3 man cockpits lacking reality, if you go that far then our current 2 man cockpits fit that same scenario. I don't ever recall seeing 1 pilot on the flight deck on a 78,77,76,75,73 or an A3. I fly twice a week too. I think the hobby has retracted with great panel designers we once had. Especially gauge designers. So many panels don't go beyond FS9 because of gauge issues in FSX and P3d.
  24. Hello Ray, Thank you for Doug's email. I just sent one and CC'd John. Hopefully that will get me flying again. I appreciate you and Ronzie providing support!!! jeff
