  1. I disagree. I bought Go Flight Products. Expensive and have had issues with multiple items. Specifically the throttle and yoke. I’ve attempted contact with GO Flight. Finally got a response. They said they would send me what I needed to get my yoke running again in August. August came and went with reviving nothing. I replied back to the email twice with no response back. I don’t think they are going to fulfill their word. Anybody want to buy a nice paperweight from Go Flight? I’ve owned CH, Saitek, Go Flight and Honeycomb yokes. Each time was for upgrade only except for Go Flight. All but Go Flight have worked fine for me. Rudder pedals have been a different story. Got the original Saitek pedals, they worked fine but wanted to update to the Cessna pedals. Then updated to the combat pedals. Then updated to the Thrustmaster TPR that lasted 3 months before the right pedal electronics went bad. Thrustmaster is silent. Bought them from Dell and they say I need to go through Thrustmaster which they don’t answer emails or phone. Again most expensive failed over less expensive. Throttles, I use to have a Suncom fighter stick and throttle that worked great and cost something like $30 back in the day. The Saitek throttles came out. Used them from 2008 to 2016 with no problems. They got lost in a move and you couldn’t buy them anymore. I bought the Go Flight throttle, they lasted a year. I was able to get a tuneup kit to fix it but not worth the price. Luckily I was able to get Logitech throttles. They have worked great for 3 years now. I was able to get a preorder for the Bravo Throttle to go with my Alpha Yoke. I really wish Go Flight lived up to their word to have my GF yoke fixed. I think they are pretty much out of business with no responses anymore and no fixed yoke.
  2. Private sale on our neighborhood marketplace. There is also Saitek Cessna yoke, Cessna pedals, Cessna trim wheel. Cessna throttle. Regular saitek throttles. Every Saitek panel add on for $550. Barely even touched on that one.
  3. Yes, been using a 1070. I bought MSFS. I still really use fs9. I bought a 2080ti 11gb still in box last week for $200. Sold my 1070 for $150. MSFS GPU usage and memory usage dropped way down. My old 1070 was the bottleneck. I'm running ultra with no problem. So now I'm going back to FS9 until MSFS gets the bugs worked out and start seeing good 3rd party ATC, AI traffic with realistic aircraft and liveries, Add on aircraft and scenery. I don't play any other games than FS.
  4. I went from a 1070 8gb to a 2080ti 11gb this week. Got the 2080ti for $200 never used. 11GB is working just fine. Watched a review on the 3080 using MSFS. Only a 10 fps increase over the 2080ti. No image quality difference at same settings.
  5. What's sad is a 10 fps average increase in frames over the 2080Ti I upgraded from a 1070 this week and paid $200 for 2080Ti 11gb never used.
  6. I was able to preorder. Using Apple Pay all the info is preloaded. I click and I had confirmation. I’ll believe it once it arrives at my door.
  7. Banyan Pilot Shop in Ft. Lauderdale has Honeycomb Alpha Yokes in stock for now.
  8. I had ordered the same thing a few years back. No issues. Cheap plastic with no mounting but did receive from Asia with no issues a few years ago.
  9. Just got this email from Banyan Pilot Shop. https://www.banyanpilotshop.com/product/honeycomb-alpha-flight-controls-yoke-and-switch-panel/?utm_source=Mailchimp&utm_medium=Email Blast&utm_campaign=Honeycomb Yoke&mc_cid=6e1d4ac98c&mc_eid=2c4a56bde9
  10. A number of manufacturers are having problems sourcing parts or raw materials right now with Covid. Labor is an issue, Covid has shut down factories. Logistics has be overwhelmed causing shipping delays. Then we all want the stuff when supply chains are taxed.
  11. Really, This debate again..... I've been on Avsim since it started in 1996. I have seen this same dumb argument over and over for over 2 decades. Who cares what somebody calls it? It doesn't matter. Relax and enjoy it.
  12. Got it working late last night. Tried everything in the MS FAQ. They left out one thing, the X Box app. I'm not a gamer, I deleted the app a few years back. I installed it and everything went smooth. MSFS is running pretty good on ultra but have only done one quick flight. My GPU is maxed out though running in the 90+% range. I'm running a Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti Founder's Edition. I'm waiting until the 3000 cards come out before deciding on upgrading. Overall, I like the sim. Performance wise and display wise its much better than FSX and P3d. I still can't get smooth operation in fsx. MSFS, I can. I think like FS2004, this version will be really great in a couple years with hardware, updates and 3rd party products.
  13. There was a short period 3 days and 17 hours ago Avsim was down. https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/avsim.net.html
  14. UPS fly's the youngest fleet at the moment at under 19 years. All the A300's were new builds and have low fleet utilization with domestic hub turns. UPS was the launch customer for the 757PF and all new build 757's again with low utilization. UPS was also the launch customer for the 767PF. This is the workhorse of the fleet used around the world. I believe all but 3 are new builds. the 3 that were bought are primarily used in Europe and were to fill in for flight deck enhancements being done on the 767 and A300 fleets. The 744 fleet was mostly new builds. There were converted big tops that were bought, I believe 2 and I believe a couple from Cargolux. The 74-8 all new builds and still coming. The MD-11's were supposed to be taken off Intl and moved to domestic. Volume has exploded internationally so the MD is still all over the globe. Recently UPS bought some MD's from Lufthansa that are entering service. Right now UPS is filling holes for the excessive business they have faced the past couple years. I believe UPS is now the largest 74 operator. Forgot to add that UPS fleet plans include MD-11 replacement. These include the 777, A330 and even talk of launch customer for the A350 freighter. Main issues is wingspan and capacity. Ramp space at SDF is at a minimum and having an MD replacement with a larger wingspan will be a concern. Capacity needs to meet or exceed current MD lift.

  16. Try Uninstalling the 9.1 patch. It is in your FS9 folder. Then reinstall the patch.

  18. Figured since I'm 50 now, I'd bring this thread from the dead. I've been at this since 1985. I've been on Avsim and other sites since inception under some different names. It was mentioned about arguments or flaming from younger members. I had seen disagreements in these forums for a number of years. Not sure why since we all have the same hobby. It seems that has died down considerably, which is nice to see. I mostly lurk since I dont use FSX or P3d. I own both but cant get the fluidity like I do with FS9. I'll monitor how MSFS2020 performs before I purchase. Looking forward to it and it should interject new blood into the sim. I do miss the days when we had Project Freeware Group, SGA, IFDG, Posky and many others. Thankful we have groups like TDS and HJG along with multiple freeware scenery developers giving us great addons for free. Guys like Opa and others who were always willing to help others here. It's great we still have Avsim and FlightSim.com. It appears to me that the forum participation and freeware addons are slowing. More people are going to facebook groups. Those of us who remember the IUP fs servers where the freeware use to be kept remember the transitions to the Avsims of the world. With Facebook, people upload to drop box and then eventually the file isn't available anymore. Its great coming here to Avsim or Flightsim to download a file you might have lost from 10 years ago. Sorry to bring the thread from the dead. look forward to see what the future brings but hope we still have access to the past.
  19. Hi Rana, Loved your software!!!! would love to be able to us FSM again. I'm still using FS9 even after owning FSX for 15 years and P3D for a year. I have a high end system but could never get them to run with the same fluidity as I have with FS9. If you have any way to use FSM on fs9 with Windows 10, it would be very appreciated. Welcome back!!! Jeff
  20. Just want to say thank you for such a great job and sticking with fs9. Much appreciated.
  21. Yes they do. I ordered a tuneup kit for go flight throttles a couple years ago. it was sent UPS Express.
  22. I have the Thrustmaster TPR’s. I’ve been enjoying this hobby since the 1980’s. I’ve had a number of different controllers over the years. The TPR’s cost around $530-$550 usd. Probably one of the best set of pedals out there. Highly adjustable. Very large and heavy with a high quality feel. I did have an issue a week or so ago with a toe brake Sensor that I think I got fixed. Note that Thrustmaster is completely shut down due to COVID. They come with a 2 year warranty but I couldn’t get anybody to help. They were purchased from Dell. I strongly suggest not purchasing from Dell or any other product from them. They wouldn’t help with the defective pedals and said I have to go thru the manufacturer who is closed for Covid. Other than the minor issue, a great product.
  23. I posted below about my dead Go Flight Yoke. It took multiple times to get them to respond. Finally got a response on FB messenger telling me to email their tech dept. I did. No response. Messaged on FB messenger again and finally today got a response back. They say they have circuit boards but no resistors or chips available to install on the boards do to Covid. I asked for the board and schematic and I would source the resistors and chips to install. Crickets, yet they are taking orders still..... Before Covid they looked like they were on life support. Nobody has any inventory, their social media pages are crickets. Their forums are silent. I spent $750 for a paperweight that doesn’t work. I hoped they could help but didn’t. I would strongly suggest avoiding Go Flight. They are not the company they use to be.
