Then make some since you're on the "board of directors" instead of worrying about Flightsim.com... Start off with the file search engine. Then provide updates to the front page and file updates....

I agree, AVSIM's search engine is really bad. I just looked for National Airlines AI Repaint. It produced 85 pages and 849 files in the FSX AI Aircraft category. It pulled up files like "GX Airlines A320"...

Avsim seems to be on life support too. Front page use to have daily news about FS. The only thing showing is from 2024. File library use to be updated multiple times a day. Now it seems not to be updated for days. Charlie, your comment wasn't necessary. Tom did a great job with AVSIM. Nels did a great job with Flightsim.com. Hopefully, both sites can get back to the level they once held.

There is a value declaration when its shipped internationally. It's not UPS... All shippers do it. UPS has done customs brokerage for years. Most times with UPS, your package has already cleared customs before landing in the country you live in. Not sure why the OP is bashing UPS for it?

The landing page hasn't been updated since April 19th and the library hasn't been updated in 4 days. It everything OK?

I'm not using P3d. My saitek throttle Quads work but the buttons on them are not. I have the paid version of FSUIPC.

I've built all of my systems since 1994. I respect the points made about building your own system. Jetline has been around the sim community for quite a while. There is a HUGE difference between an Alienware box and Jetline. Jetline tweaks to flightsim. Think of the countless hours we have all tweaked in out hobby. Most of it has been a waste of time placebo. These guys know how to build a sim specific box that works from the beginning. Key word is sim specific!!! Alienware is not. Like I said I have built my own boxes but Jetline will be doing my next one. I live very close to them so maybe they will let me pick it up and save on shipping.

Jim has been attacking personally for years. I couldn't agree with you more Robin about how this hobby is supposed to be fun and how so many get wrapped around the propeller if somebody has a difference of opinion. In regards to banning if a negative critique is made of a payware product that a mod is involved with not being true as Jim said, Jim is wrong. I have been on Avsim pretty much from the beginning. I have had a few user names on here over the years. I contributed with freeware and use to be regularly involved in the forums. Since about 2005 I stopped. Remember Robert Kirkland who was the associate publisher of AVSIM? Wasn't he the Same Robert Kirkland of PSS (Phoenix Simulation Software)? I posted in the PSS forum regarding the 757 elevator not working properly. Only one side moved. This was a product I paid for. I just wanted to inform PSS and ask when it was going to be corrected. The post was deleted and I questioned why? I was told that negative comments would not be tolerated and I would be banned next time.... How many people have left this hobby because of similar antics... Again agreeing with Robin, its supposed to be fun. I use FS9 as my only sim. I purchased FSX and its been off my system for some time. Every sim I have used going back to the Sub Logic days has been ahead of the hardware when released. Remember when FS9 was released and all the comments regarding stutters and frame rates? Hardware caught up and for the most part its stable and has good visuals. 10 years after FSX was released and we still have the same discussions of frame rates and stutters. I have upgraded 4 times over those 10 years and still do not have a fluid sim like FS9. My version of fluid may be different from others so those of you who may disagree please don't get wrapped around the propeller. Payware vendors who stopped producing for FS9 or pulled FS9 products, I get that you may be tapped out on how far you can go for FS9. Why pull the products you already produced? (PMDG) For me, I had thought about buying the PMDG MD-11 and 747 but you pulled them off the market. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was going to purchase. I held off purchasing before in hopes of migrating to FSX and not having to purchase for both sims. I probably never will migrate to FSX because a lot of free and pay ware I have isn't compatible and I'm disappointed in the fluidity of the sim. I do feel this hobby is contracting. I've been involved in aviation most of my life and personally it doesn't have the same persona as it did. I was in Miami this past week. I use to see spotters all over the place 10 years ago. Now there was very few. The variety of aircraft that we use to see was great. Now for the most part all you see are twin engine bland aircraft. We only have 2 major players in heavy jets with Boeing and Airbus. In Flight Sim, you have very little innovation anymore. No new platforms other than updates on P3 or Xplane. Not much new in the way of aircraft in both freeware or payware. Heck not much new period like we use to have. The groups like Project Freeware, POSKY and HFG have either folded or just issue small updates and support now. I miss the days of a new sim being released every couple of years. I miss the excitement over new freeware being released regularly. The anticipation of new payware.

We take so much for granted until news like this puts things in perspective. Enjoy your family and friends. Just know no matter how this turns out, you have left a mark on many people. You have a legacy with AVSIM. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Thanks Bert I'm asking will FSX-SE give solid, fluid, consistent performance flying airliners into complex sceneries with add on weather, 100% traffic, radar contact and complex add on aircraft or is it another hack, tweak or what ever that works for some and not for others?

I appreciate the replies everybody. We all have our own version of smooth. Running at 30fps and having the sim bog down in metro areas isn't my definition of smooth. I don't play game console systems but watch my son. The play is very fluid all the way thru and consistent. I keep wanting to give FSX a chance. FSX-SE still seems to have people with divided results. How dumbed down is individual settings to make things fluid?

I've been swimming since the 80's. I've lurked around here for years under different user names. I've contributed freeware but quit doing that. I received my copy of FSX before the release date. Bottom line it was a pig. I've reinstalled once in a while when snake oil hacks would get the community jumping with similar results. I have a modern machine I-7 with 16gb of ram and an nvidia 7 series card with Nick's tweaks Along with others. Guess what, FSX is still a pig. I keep going back to FS2004 that has ran flawless for years with max settings and a ton of add ons. I remember the days of every driver upgrade people would come on here raving about the FPS increase. I remember every time Pete released a new FSUIPC, people would come on here raving about the huge FPS increase. With every tweak I've got the same results. I bogged down flight sim that isn't enjoyable. Why should I spend the money for FSX:SE? I paid $60. 8 years ago for FSX that is worthless. I don't like being negative but this has been fact for me. I've thought about P3D but people still have in consistent flying just like we still do years after FSX.

Could someone please post the link or direct me where to download FS9 Evo? I've looked all around and im sure its probably right under my nose Thank you.
