  1. Feul selectors open, pump switch on LOW. start selector on #4, start by blade 3 a click on the prime. Blade 6 another click on the prime. nr 9 boost and prime, 12 magneto on. when engine catches, mixture from cut-off to auto rich. Works every time for me!
  2. When reaching the cruise FL, that should be the time to activate the ALT hold switch on the back of the pedestal!
  3. Dear captains I had simmular problems as discribed above. Problems with idle, engine kept running rought and lost of elec power. After take off I had a lost of power. So what did I do, like a real FE I started to read the meters. I notice that my fuel flow and pressure was very low, even with pumps at HIGH. Looking at the mixture handles, they where all on auto rich. Very strange! Than I looked at my hardware. I am using saitek throttle levers. 4 for engine throttles, 1 for RPM and 1 for....... Mixture. The saitek mixture lever, I don't use it because I use the one in the VC. When I moved my saitek mixture lever, al problems disappeard. After this I clicked enable auto mixture in FSX. I do not no if this is the right setting for the PMDG model, but it works! I tried using my Saitek mixture lever. this works fine in auto rich but not in auto lean. Hope this helps!! For Stingray. I really am an A2A flyer. especially the connie. Yes the A2A aircrafts works different. But this PMDG DC-6 is a beauty! Very! For your battery switch problem I say Read the manual! For the AFE from PMDG I say, if your use to fly A2A, this bird is a piece of cake, no need to use the AFE. Dimmable lights,.... are you kidding? Come on, the bird is for flying, not for playing with light knobs! Regards Ronald

  8. I did a flight today with the gps a/p flying my SID's and STAR's. I use the aivlasoft EFB which update my GPS with the SID or STAR I want to fly.
  9. The radial piston engine is of course a 4-stroke engine. To really avoid a hydraulic lock you need at least two compleet turns on the engines meaning six blades. If you check multiple movies clips on starting the R2800's it is mostly counting twelve blades before turning on the mags. regards Ronald

  11. How do you load cargo in the BCF? Offcourse the BCF painting is based on the 400 passenger model. Do I need to load passengers to get some weight in my BCF or can I do it with the 400F loader? My BCF (PH-MPS) is able to carry 113 ton of cargo, but when I put the passenger model full with passengers and cargo I only get arround 70 ton. Can I use the freighter loader to get Cargo in my BCF??? Regards Ronald

  14. Hello captains I'm flying the 777 for a couple of hours now. I am wondering if there is anybody who can tell me how the stop the A/P disengace warning. Mostly I fly on A/P untill about 1000ft before touche down. What I do is switching off the A/P bij clicking the A/P button or the A/P disengace bar and land by hand! The problem is that I cannot stop the sirene and most of the time I end landing after hitting Q key, the stop the sound. There must be a better way to do this. Can somebody help me? regards Ronald
  15. My MD11 teacher for the PMDG MD11 told me the way they use it in real life (He is a reallife MD11 pilot). To start the APU they use the APU PWR switch (ELEC). The APU starts it self en will provide power. After that they use the APU switch (AIR) to establish airco and bleed air. After starting the engines you just press the APU (AIR) switch again and the APU will shut down. You know this by the flickering start/stop light at the manual APU part of your overhead! I Hope this helps!
  16. Hello pilots I haven't flown the BLCF for several months. I wanted to fly it but seem to have some problems with the swing tail annimations. So I did a new install of the BLCF and evrything was okay. The annimation of the Hysther and loading proces was okay. But when I started flying I get the message that the aircraft was unflyable. I tried to depart and everything was okay untill CRZ. The plane was tail heavy and keep on climbing to FL440. I did the CONFIG tool before starting FSX. Can it be I have to re-install the config tool since i re-installed the BLCF and how do I do that. regards Ronald
  17. Hello pilots I'm flying the queen for several months now and I'm really enjoying it. Last weekend I connected my GoFlight GF-46 panel to try it with the 747. Is there somebody who uses it here? I cannot get it to work proberly! I can change my XPDR with it. I can change my ALTM! So that is working great! The problem is with the AP. I cannot get the HDG, ALT and V/S to work. Does somebody has a clu?
  18. Hello Lately I've been hearing engine sound after landing. If I go in outside view and then back into my cockpit (VC) I hear like if the engines are on full throttle. Even after parking and totally shut down, I hear the engines still roar like on full throttle. sometimes after parking I go to outside view and then back in my cockpit the engines sounds like full throttle, but they are not. I putt the parking break on and then i do a full throttle. When reaching a certain engine sound, I reduce throttle and everthing is like normal. But when I shut down everything it is still normail, going into outside view also everything is as it should be. But going back into the cockpitview the engine roar like full, even when the plane is C&D. How can I fix this? regards Ronald
