Yesterday I did a flight with the Everts Air Cargo DC-6 N747CE in it's natural habitat,..... Alaska! The route was a typical Everts Air route, flightno VTS35 from PANC to PAED to load military goods for the Long Range Radar Stations like PACZ. Everts does a lot of flights for the armed forces. The DC-6 is the perfect plane for the short gravel stripes at these LRRS. The PMDG DC-6 is not an exeption on that, great fun! One lovely landing at PACZ which can only be approached and land on RWY02 because of the hills in the surroundings. This type of flying on FSX is very hard. The airman of Everts do it almost daily in the hardest conditions. Real pioneers in the last frontier! Try to do it yourself, such nice flying! You can find their routes on flightradar24. Love this bird PMDG!!!! Regards Ronald van Ingen

you can fly an IFR flight plan very good with the DC6. You only need to do the climb and cruise altitude yourself. Make sure before connecting the AutoPilot that the turn knob is centered and the knob above the turnknob is set to the left. Once airborne turn on the gyroknob and connect the AP under the mixture handles. Make sure your GPS is set to GPS by clicking the knob below the CDI word, blinking in white. Than turn the knob above the turnknob to navigation (middle). Adjust your climb with the small trimwheel on the pedestal, once cruise level is reached turn on altitude hold on the AP (next to gyro). Good luck Ronald van Ingen

I need more cargo versions! KLM, United, PanAm... -
Yess. I would like a COLD&DARK start up.
-
After switch the red lever, you can provide throttle for each engine individual with your levers.
-
I use simbrief!
-
BMEP should be arround 120 isn't it?
-
Really? oke, so the lower switch is for pwr on/of and the upper for GND or BATT? I tought it was the other way round,....ooops
-
There are only four charts you need to look at. #1 take-off WET or DRY chart #2 METO #3 CLIMB #4 CRUISE Must quicker than finding out the best setting your self!
-
I know the function That is how I noticed what was wrong. Before engine start and everything I could transmit via Vpilot to vatsim. After engine start I put the generators on, the upper switch to BATT and the lower to OFF which is the correct way to do so. As soon as I switch the lower to off I could not transmit on vatsim via Vpilot. So I need to have the lower switch on and the upper also!
-
The battery switch is on! but if you want to transmit on Vatsim I need to have both on during flight. I know it is strange, but very true!
-
Hahahaha Funny men!
-
I figured it out My BATT & GND.PWR switch must be turned on....!!???
-
Thanks for the help. Maybe it is an Vpilot issue, Yesterday everything was working fine!
-
Do you mean the switch box under the transponder box? I now have recieved both, transmitting COM1, still nothing
-
Hello captains I am currently flying in my 6 on vatsim. I want to type messages in the Vpilot box but it keeps saying; NOT TRANSMITTING ON ANY FREQUENCIES! I have my radio's on the 122.8 but I am not transmitting. Looking in my 6 for the problem I see the MASTER RADIO circuit breakers off (DOWN). I try to clivck them but none is working. Is that because the are from the old radio's? Now I think that my mic is switched off, is that simulated in the 6? Regards Ronald van Ingen

How can I hold the altitude? Autopilot iss not working
RonnieDuck replied to Frank_Kunath's topic in PMDG DC-6 Cloudmaster
Frank, I use trackIR. Sometimes the switch is not working from the captain seat and I need to go to the FE pedestal view to operate the switch! Regards Ronald
