  1. Quick question I couldn't find the answer to... When updating the RXP software, do I need to run the installer twice to update both the 430 and the 530? Or will updating one also update the other? I assume the trainer will be the same, but I wondered about licensing or the XP plugin. Thanks!
  2. The coordinates for the RXP screen count from the bottom row, not the top. Pixel 1,1 is the very bottom left corner.
  3. I ran the RXP installer once, before uninstalling the Garmin software - no prompt to install the new version. So I tried the Garmin uninstall thinking it would prompt the update. That didn't work either. No big deal at all, I'll just run the installer linked above manually. Not a problem at all. Thanks.
  4. Hey Jean-Luc, Nope. The installer didn't say anything about the new version of the trainer. I even uninstalled the Garmin software, and ran the RXP installer again, to see if it would get the new version, and the RXP software installed version 6.21 again - that's why I was confused. I'm using the just-released versions of all RXP software, so I should be current. I'll manually install version 6.41 and check to see that RXP is auto-detecting that version. Won't be for a while - I'm working until late tonight. Thanks!
  5. I just re-ran the RXP GTN installer, and I'm still getting version 6.21 of the Garmin trainer. Where are people getting the newest version? Thanks!
  6. Yeah, you can 'pop-out' the 2D default GNS units, the sectional chart, - anything native to X-plane. Laminar just hasn't released the SDK for outside developers to use these features.
  7. I just re-downloaded the e-commerce installer and tried to install the GNS430 by logging into my flight1 account and re-downloading the installer. Everything validated correctly, (I did get a popup that I was close to my activation limit, but it installed correctly anyway). However, I still get the same "Failed to Open Simulation" error. I've sent you a PM regarding my key for the GNS530. Thanks!
  8. Hey Jean-Luc, Yes, I've got the GTN installed and it's working perfectly. When I re-installed I didn't go all the way back to the e-commerce installer, but used the saved install file that's created when you run the e-commerce file. I also uninstalled the garmin trainer software, so the installer would find it missing and re-install it also. Neither worked.
  9. Help! I've been away from my sim for a while, and upon trying to fly again today, I've found that I'm unable to use my GNS 530/430. Aircraft with config files don't open the GNS unit, and in the menu, under 'RealityXP GNS' I get "GNS: Failed to Open Simulation" instead of the usual menu options. I've updated X-Plane to the current version 11.02.r2. I re-installed the RXP plugin, and also removed and re-installed the GNS trainer software. Neither worked. I've been using the RXP plugin for a long time, and never had any problems. Something must have changed, but I'm unable to figure out what happened. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  10. ..nevermind then thanks Jean-Luc
  11. I'm pretty sure that you can use the .fpl export in something like skyvector. You'll get a .fpl file (which works with the GNS units). I think if you change the file extension to .gfp it will work in the GTN units. I'm away from my sim for a month, or I'd give it a try myself :) I'd be interested to hear if it works however.
  12. ...Aaaaaand X-plane is forgotten forever! ....just kidding, I really hope not. I'm looking forward to an XP11 update at the very least. Thanks for your work!
  13. In x-plane, under the plugins menu is the section for the GTN 750. You have to check 'master device' for the GPS unit to drive the autopilot. No, you don't need to have any of the trainers running in the background.
  14. make sure the GNS is set to MASTER in the settings, otherwise it won't drive the AP
  15. Ah got it. Wish I could help. Good luck!
  16. You're posting in the X-plane forum. Not surprising there isn't more information about an FSX release.
  17. Should I change all the PANEL3D sections of the .ini files to the new PANELS type? Or does it not matter?
  18. I may have mis-understood your question. The Carenado King Air comes with dual 430s, not 530s. I have not changed the panel types before, i just swap an existing 430 for the RXP 430, or an existing 530 for the RXP 530. This does not require any 3D model changes, just some planemaker edits and a config file for RXP. If you want to remove the existing dual 430s and put in 530s that's a much more involved job. You need to edit not only the planemaker avionics, but also the 3D model of the cockpit. Still possible, but not something I've done yet. To answer your question however, 1 licence will allow you to put up to 2 units in a panel. The Carenado PC-12 has dual 530s and I have both working (as COM/NAV 1 and COM/NAV 2) with 1 RXP 530 licence. Hope that helps!
  19. Hi Alf1, It's very easy to exchange the default GNS530 for the RXP version. I've done it many times, and have crossfill, multiple units in the same panel, all working perfectly. If you need help adding the RXP versions, let me know, I'm happy to assist.
  20. I managed to swap out the RealityXP GNS430 in the place of the default one. It was super-easy, no 3D modeling changes, and the newest RXP version will use the existing 3D buttons and map them to the plugin GPS. You just remove the 430 screen in planemaker and add the RXP version in the .ini file. I think it's a good compromise between maintaining the cockpit look and having a fully functioning GNS unit.
  21. I have whichever navdata set is installed with the Garmin trainer out of the box, so to speak... PM sent. Thanks!
  22. Hello, I wondered if someone could test the GNS in their sim and see if the TED waypoint is available? It's a VOR station at the PANC (Anchorage Alaska) airport. It seems to be missing my from setup. It seems odd that a VOR at a major airport like PANC would be missing from the Garmin sim dataset. I tried loading the Garmin GNS530 simulator program outside of the sim, but I can't seem to power the unit on. The program opens, and the screen says "Press the Power / COM volume knob to power on the unit." but nothing happens when I click the knob. The TED VOR is available in the GTN trainer dataset, just missing from the GNS. Thanks!
