Traffic add-ons
In my opinion, VoxATC is good as a standalone product. I tried the interaction with UT2 and was utterly disappointed, so much so that I uninstalled UT2bridge. The traffic it generated was sporadic and I believe it only read the Weekly database from UT2, not any addon schedules. VoxATC has been consigned to the occasional use only Ken Brattey

SID problem EGPF
You can take snapshots in FSX by simply pressing the 'V' key. Pictures will be saved to your default Pictures folder. Vernon, what sort of specs are your pc and video?

SID problem EGPF
I will try this when I get home, I have never noticed anything abnormal, but then again, I have never been looking.

SID problem EGPF
Hi Vernon What textures were you missing? I have been using Voxatc with all my PMDG addons (J41, 737NGX, 777) without any noticeable problems Ken

SID problem EGPF
From the homepage you should see several tabs along the top, choose IAIP then Specific Aerodrome. From that you will see all the UK airports listed. Selecting any, e.g. EGPF and you will see they SID, STAR, ILS charts as well as general aerodrome and parking chart. LOREL3G is a STAR for EGGW (Luton) and also EGSS (Stansted) and is basically for aircraft arriving from the North or North West into that area around EGGW and EGGS. Just noticed your signature, based at DTW? I lived in Ann Arbor back in 2006 working at KYIP for USA Jet! Still cannot cut/paste. Must be something in Windows 8.1!

Yeah, tried all the paste commands but none seem to work for me!

SID problem EGPF
The plan in the format provided would not be imported. It must be in a format suitable for FSX. There are many flightplan programmes, with the most common being Fligthsim Commander and PFPX, both of which will create, save and export flightplans in the correct format for FSX and several addon aircraft i.e. PMDG and Aerosoft. I use the UK NATS site which is completely free and includes all the data and charts you would need for UK airports. Don't know how to add a link here but do a search for NATS UK and you will find it. www.nats-uk.ead-it.com Hope this helps. For some reason I cannot paste into this window, I was going to show you what a FSX formatted plan looks like. Ken

SID problem EGPF
DCT means direct so in the plan provided you proceed from POL direct to MCT 145 is the maximum flight level for airway N57. Not sure what aircraft you are flying but unless it's a turboprop to EGGW you would want a higher altitude as you will burn a ton of fuel at that level. e.g EGPF NORBO UT256 DCS UL612 CALDA DCT MCT LOREL3G EGGW where NORBO is the SID departure from EGPF then following airway UT256 to DCS then airways UL612 to CALDA then direct to MCT then the LOREL3G STAR into EGGW. For this route the altitude restriction is not below FL245 and not above FL660. You also need to remember that some aircraft will not accept a flightplan that includes the SID/STARS, notably PMDG. This is deliberate as the SID especially is linked to the departing runway so it is best to enter this manually in the FMC. Same goes for the STAR.
-
SID problem EGPF
Are you importing the flightplan into VOX before you start?
-
SID problem EGPF
Also, when exporting from PFPX, I don't think it exports the SID/STAR, you need to add this manually in the FMC once you load your basic plan

Ultimate Traffic 2: Traffic disappearing over water
UT2 does not fly SIDS or STARS. It can't because the flightplan uses the airport as the departure/arrival not the specific runway. You can however get creative with your own flightplans and use the SID exit or STAR entry as one of the waypoints. However FSX will more than likely give you vectors to land long before the AI reach the STAR.

Comments on Turbine Sound Studios sound?
PMDG sounds are the best. I recently acquired the TSS for the CFM and IAE V2500 through my ownership of Aeorosft A320 series aircraft. Not bad, but not a patch on the PMDG sounds for the CFM 56 for the 737. And if you want to be impressed, try the PMDG 777 for some mind blowing realistic big fan rumble. The only other sounds that are on a par with PMDGare the Quality Wings renditions of the RB211 and the Lycoming. Ken Brattey

Sorry missed that link. Will download now and try it out.

Loganair J41s anyone?
I tested more, it happens when you switch on the wing obs lights if that helps. I was only switching on the LH side but problem is also replicated on the RH wing with the RH wing obs light on. Ken

Loganair J41s anyone?
Hi Propane I´ve been flying my LC J41 at night and noticed that the left wing upper surface and the leading edge as it wraps under the wing appears stark white, almost as if it is being lit up. I don't know how to post pics to let you see. Best regards Ken

VoxATC UK
So is this something additional that needs to be purchased? I bought mine online and just updated to V6.49.

Loganair J41s anyone?
Do you ever fancy trying to do the same with the Aerosoft DHC6 Twotter in the same livery? The only ones I can find are the BA and Flybe ones? How do you get started in painting and do you need any specific programme other then the paintkits?

I think I may be the persistent user! I've not given up hope........✈️

SID problem EGPF
Possibly because fox does not save the Sid. I bet if you look at the actual plan that has been exported DCS will be your first waypoint
