  1. ??? The E3 footage was from an Xbox. Looked great to me. Edit, maybe not, seems Author might have been confused, see below.
  2. XBOX ONE Here is where they say it is coming to Xbox One - https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/microsoft-flight-simulator And the devs have said it won't be hard to bring it to the Xbox. Everyone one is assuming you will need a high end machine to run this. Give the devs some credit, they know what they are doing in this area. "They can do it on Xbox and they can do it on Windows and it look like that on stage. ". - Phil Spencer https://www.pcgamer.com/xboxs-phil-spencer-on-game-pass-steam-and-the-epic-games-store/2/ And as for take off/landing video, this video has a bunch of take offs and landings And if you say you want real pilots to do it, you know most of devs have gotten their PPL. And not everyplace will look the same, some will look worse than others. We know this. They have stated they have three data sources. "At Bing we have satellite data, which we call area photography, which goes up to 30 centimeters per pixel. The better pictures come from airplanes, they have several cameras and take one picture per second, the resolution is then 5 centimeters per pixel. In principle, you can then build the cities from these points." And then there is photometry data. They also hand touched some areas like the Space Needle. If you want to know what your house or area will look like, go to Bing Maps within Windows 10.
  3. I am not going to discuss unofficial releases. And I am smart enough not to judge them based on those either.
  4. I know this is Alpha, and isn't it also the first time we have seen lights in buildings? So it does look good. The street lights look great. But I agree with mSparks. (Although I would like to see his niece do this) The building lights look off. 😉 Maybe because they are too big, maybe because there isn't enough variation, maybe because all the building lights are on. It just doesn't look as photo realistic as the daylight screenshots have looked. But it is Alpha, and I think a first pass.
  5. I said "will do" because the simulator hasn't shipped yet. Thus it is future tense. Read the whole sentence. What is your point? (Do you think you are adding to the conversation? I know my last responses haven't, so I apologize to the other forum members.) Saying they haven't worked out the details tells me nothing, and adds nothing. It also contradicts when they said they will use it for buildings, tree locations, deciding what to put in areas covered by a cloud in the satellite pic. So it seems they know some things they will use it for. Here is where they say it - https://youtu.be/BZL5PCZO8cc?t=241 I think you are trying to say you haven't heard anything else they will use it for. Can you stop now, or you want to pick apart this message as well?
  6. That seems backwards, and in some areas it is useless. For example you can never know how many, or a percentage of, that spent $0, as it will always be 100%. This would be really interesting as many mention putting off purchases as they wait for MSFS 2020. And if you want to know how many spent around $100, how do you calculate that? If you try to reverse it, say 100%-90%, that would say 10%. But that is cumulative. So at best we know 10% spent $100, $50, and $0. So now we have to do even more math... which can be done, just complicates it. Seems much simpler if they just showed a individual percentage for each, then you can add them up if you wish. Or put both numbers in, cumulative and individual.
  7. Asobo doesn't know what they said about what Azure will do in MSFS 2020? Once again, I simply asked what they SAID.
  8. Another problem with the H key? I find their graphs weird. How can you have 100% spend $0 on flight simulation software, but 95% spent $50, and 90% spent $100?
  9. Have they said anything else about what Azure will do in MSFS 2020?
  10. So, I guess my question is, do most airports have this rule? Or more specifically do most airports that can handle say a 737, have that rule? (Fixed the thrusters/thrust...)
  11. Maybe to get this back on track, they have said the Azure AI can identify where buildings and trees should be. They have said it can even fill in an area that was obscured by a cloud on the satellite photo. Have they said anything else about what Azure will do in MSFS 2020?
  12. I don't know, but from this video I get a different impression. https://youtu.be/OguKthkuaT4?t=431 "in most cases, if we are doing a quick turnaround for example, we select second detent reverse thrust." So, is it most airports in some countries, or world wide, or plane dependant, wet/slippery runway, or what?
  13. You are smart, you have seen these multiple times, and they keep getting deleted. So why didn't you screenshot them, or take a phone pic? Kind of like if you see a ufo, pull out your phone and take a pic. Of course with all these phones people carry, make you wonder why you don't see ufo pics now days. (Not to distract this thread with ufo's)
  14. You mean like this sample FSX video?
  15. If you are looking at passengers, then you aren't looking at the cockpit full of controls and dials and displays. That takes quite a load off. And these devs have modeled photorealistic landscape, something others said couldn't be done with decent performance.
  16. Everyone is different. Everyone has slightly different reasons for flying. Some people like to role play different jobs. I can understand someone that is role playing a big passenger jet, they would feel it easier to role play if they can see passengers. This is no different than seeing a gas truck drive up to your jet. Or a cargo run where you can see actual boxes. I don't know what a data eater is, but obviously if you shut the cockpit door the passengers don't have to be rendered. And as far as I am concerned, the passengers could be modeled from all the alternate pilot models. Keeping in mind we already know there are at least several different pilot models. So no real extra work for Asobo. Other companies can make regional models. And most importantly, don't like it, turn it off, set zero passengers.
  17. Double folding wings, at body and half way down the wing. And able to unfold in flight. Is there a real glider that can do that?
  18. I think you could use the soundscape video to confirm, or further confirm more planes. Like they are doing full sound on the TBM 930. (I am not the best at recognizing planes, so not sure what others.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySEWs6luN7Q&t=343s
  19. One reddit user said this "I'm a so called Alpha tester but it's not allowed do discuss any of those things. One thing I'd like to remind you all though, is that it's an ALPHA and definitely NOT the finished game. By that I mean you should lower your expectations (really) if you're picked up for testing." So it sounds like it has a long way to go.
  20. (I like comparing X-Plane to MSFS 2020, but is this the thread to do it in? Also, I am not a big fan of X-Plane, I think MSFS will much a huge improvement.) Yes, the rain in that sounded terrible. But X-Plane can sound much better for free.
  21. I assume this one, but many of the bush flying videos have a similar feel.
  22. Why not trust Asobo to prioritize things? They have done a great job so far.
  23. domkle (don't know how to link just the name), I hope one of the Alpha testers sees this and tries it out. And if it isn't right, reports it to Asobo. Of course from there it is up to Asobo to prioritize it.
  24. Hope they don't remove them, as I quite like some of the passenger view videos. I saw one where they edited in real cabin noises, and for a bit I thought it was a real flight.
