September 13, 201510 yr Screenshots and a mini review of the RWDesigns Beech Duke. I haven't checked out the Turbine version yet but it is included in the package. Yes I have the Realair ones for FSX/P3D First the pics... then the words While I've got no real world time with a piston Duke I'm pretty familiar with their operation. I beta tested the RA Dukes and I've talked to some Duke pilots at work. You might have seen my picture of N30MM in the FSX thread, taken at our Duke Convention here in DLH a few years back. The Beech Duke is my second favorite plane of all time. (Just behind the Lancair Legacy!) Anyway this Duke is for XP10, it's very well done. It hand flies pretty smoothly, has nice interior engine sounds, and smooth manipulator operation. The manipulators are stock XP but they are easy to use. Clickspots are pretty good and I use Track IR - it's easy to find them. It's a full IFR panel and uses the "new" stock XP10 GNS530 and 430 units. The panel has separate DME as well. It has a three axis autopilot too. The model is pretty well done, but sometimes things appear a bit "plasticky" in XP10 - this model reminds me of that. But the textures are still pretty well done. I feel the interior textures are better than exterior. The interior lighting has separate rheostats, but the flood lighting is not dimmable, maybe a bug, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Without the flood you can't see things like heading and course knobs on the HSI. Bit of an issue there. The gauges are a little small and text tough to read at FOV 70 or more. I haven't delved into any manual but the turbocharged flight model seems to work better than in FSX. As in I didn't need to move the mixture much at all while climbing to 17,500ft. There is no pilot in the plane. Again maybe something I missed in the manual. Honestly it feels pretty good and reminds me a lot of the Realair Duke in FSX. RA has better textures and modeling - but now I'm comparing apples and oranges. For what XP10 can do this Duke is very good. And at the pricepoint, it's very high quality. I can't wait to do some more flying. It is a capable aircraft and should work great for online flight! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

September 13, 201510 yr Author Yep I found that after embarrassingly emailing the developer! I sent over a few more bugs I found but really it's a beautiful Duke! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 13, 201510 yr Duke has got elegance and style....Turbine Duke has massive performance! HLJAMES
September 13, 201510 yr Ryan, since you were on the beta team for the RA Duke, please remind them of the bug with the aileron trims, which have opposite effect on the yoke.... They also move the wrong way in the animations... September 13, 201510 yr What about the flight dynamics ? How's Mr. Torque :-) How's engine-out ? XP10 does a much better job in this area, specially when failing the critic engine...
