  1. Thanks Captain Kevin for your prompt response.
  2. Tried making a purchase today (several attempts), used three types of cards (Discover, AMEX, MC etc.) still no success. Kept getting the same message as shown in the screenshot below. Wanted to get the 737 NGX base package. Btw, all credit cards are active and at least one of them was used today to make other online purchases and it worked. Also called the credit cards and there does not seem to be any issue at their end or on my credit availability. Also, does PMDG not have an email or phone number for handling/responding to customers?.....I could not find one on the site.
  3. Thank you Paraffin, I did lower the textures by couple of notches from the max setting I had. It is now at 'High' and seems to have resolved the stutter issue. As for the 11.30 Beta, thanks again for your instructions and I'll give it a try. Btw, has anyone noticed any improvement in performance (given all else same) with the 11.30 beta? I'll also check the thread on this topic. And thank you Old_As_Dirt, for taking the time to go through the log file and reporting back. Good to know that it does not show any errors.
  4. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I deletd the shadercache and preferences as suggested by soaring_penguin and that seemed to do the trick. Now I have 40-50 fps in Seattle area with DD airports, city and photo-real scenery. Sorry, Old_As_Dirt I forgot to save my log.txt with the earlier issues in the middle of all this experimenting, however, I am providing the link to the new one created, in case, there is still any value to it. I tried different graphics slider configs and I settled with the same settings as before. However, I am experiencing micro stutters as I pan around or change views (external & internal). For now I am happy with this improvement and will tackle that in few days. Btw, I have Threaded Optimization turned off, vsync off in sim & in Nvidia Control panel, tripple buffering off, and I reduced the monitor refresh to 60hz (IN THE SIM) at the same 1920x1080 resolution as before, hoping to resolve the stutter issue but does not seem to help (I'll continue to experiment with various combinations and share what I find). Btw, my version of x-plane is 11.26r2 (Build 112601 64-bit) and where can one get 11.30 Beta (I don't see it on their site)? On second thought, I should probably stay away from it till a stable version is introduced. Screenshots: Log.txt: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FGxiyL8pstMb5n_0uFgUsW9qNyVMpezB/view?usp=sharing Again, thanks everyone for you prompt help. Now I can again enjoy this sim. Cheers & Happy Flying! veemaniq
  5. I managed to figure out uploading the screenshots above. Hope this helps.
  6. Thank you Murmur, Paraffin and turnandbank for your prompt responses. Below I have posted some screenshots. I have maxed out some of the settings, however you'll notice that I am in quite a remote area (KLEX) with hardly any buildings. I am using a Asus 27" monitor with 1920x1080 resolution running at 144hz (nothing amazing that would tax my system). Btw, I have tried lowering the refresh rate also with no changes. I have tried moving the sliders down but the most I gain is 2-3 FPS. Btw, shadows are unchecked and reflections are zero. This is why I am quite puzzled. Especially, turnandbank, you have pretty much like my setup except the graphics card and that should in fact, at least in theory, give me better performance between the two of us given that I running a GTX 1080Ti. Not sure if I should reinstall x plane and if that will help in any way. Again, I really appreciate your responses. Btw, how do I upload images?
  7. Hi fellow simmers, I have tried every possible solution that has been discussed in these forums and still not able to figure out my low FPS situation. Even in the most dense autogen area my CPU utilization is at 60-70% max and my GPU is around 45-50% at most. I have a i-4770k CPU that can be overclocked to 4.3ghz but have not had any reason to go beyond the stock 3.9ghz boost performance. I have a GTX 1080Ti and it seems it is barely being put to use. Additionally, I have 16GB of RAM that runs at 2133 and notice that it also being only used 50% of its capacity. I am running x-Plane 11 on a Windows 10 pro rig and using a Samsung 1TB SSD drive. I have tried switching of Windows defender (i have no other anti-virus), followed with tweaks like switching off Threaded Optimization, max Power options etc. Not sure if reinstalling will solve this issue. The only additional items that are not shipped with the official packages that i have installed are the Zibo Mod B737-800, Drzewiecki Design Seattle area airports and city, and plugins like freeware x-camera, Better Pushback etc. Really perplexed as to what is it that I can additionally do to enjoy this sim, when I see such improvements in texture quality and aircrafts like zibo to enjoy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  8. Thank you Gridley and Slayer for your prompt response. Good to know that for REX we just have to point to the sim. I now realize that they have a folder outside of the sim folder which makes sense.
  9. Hi, I was wondering how ORBX, REX and other add-on's are integrated into p3d v4. Currently I am using P3D v3 and the above add-on's and they are taking nearly 175GB of disk space all together. I now have approximately 130GB of free space left on my 500GB SSD. Now I planning to get P3D v4 and do not want to uninstall v3 yet, till I have a stable v4. I am curious if add-on's like ORBX utilize the same set of scenery and related files/folders or do they take up additional space. I am afraid the latter might be the case (because of 64 bit codes) but was not sure. I would appreciate if someone can shed some light on this. Thanks in advance. veemaniq
  10. Thanks everyone for your responses and questions. Sorry for the delay in getting back. I'll try to answer your questions....... I upgraded to Win10 on July 29th to take advantage of the free upgrade and check it out since I have 30 days to revert back to Win8.1. Not too worried about Microsoft 'spying' as I use this computer for FSX and gaming So far I have been pleased with the new OS. Even in FSX my performance issue is pertaining to the significant drop in FPS otherwise I think Win10 for me is far more stable when it comes to smooth working of various add-ons, controls etc. I also notice a much better scenery quality less of flickering fences and building....even though I felt I had already resolved those with various tweaks including the use of Steve's DX10 Fixer, nvidiainspecter etc....they now appear relatively sharper. I also feel that I see a marked difference in terrain & shader quality as well....not sure if these are configured better in Win10, I'll let experts weigh in on that. Thus except for the FPS issue that I have mentioned I am happy with Win10. Having said that I am wondering if there is a issue with resource allocation or rather full use of all available resources in Win10 for a sim like FSX, which obviously is from a different era in technology. Also it is very much possible that this issue is specific to my build. I understand that FSX, calculates and fills scenery on a as required basis (as pointed out correctly by 'magnetite') but this was also the case in Win8.1, thus that should not be a factor. In terms of toning down of various parameters in cfg file, reducing TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD, LOD_RADIUS, blocking AffinityMask, Poolsize, MultiSamplesPerPixel etc., I have already done these adjustments and experimented. One thing I would like to add is that the drop in FPS is most pronounced when I am flying the only payware I have, that is, Piper - PA23 Alebo Aztec F250 by Carenado. In other stock aircrafts it is not as bad, thus the decline in performance does not appear to be linear. One final point, while in Win8.1, I was getting 22 FPS in KSEA region and some drop in FPS to maybe 17, when I approached downtown scenery while flying Carenado Piper, with other stock aircraft the same figures were 27 and 23 respectively. I'll continue to investigate this further and keep experimenting, if I learn something I'll promptly post here. So stay tuned! Again, thanks for your inputs and questions and feel free to ask any other questions you may have or suggestions you would like me to try. Cheers! veemaniq Btw, I forgot to mention that I have provided Windows Defender exclusions to all *.exe files that I use for FSX.
  11. Hi fellow simmers and FSX gurus, I recently upgraded to Windows 10 Pro from Windows 8.1 Pro. The upgrade went smoothly, except for few glitches relating to regenerating XML.dll and FSX.cfg files (thanks to the inputs I got here and other forums). FSX is up and running with all my add-ons (ORBX, REX, Aircrafts, EZDOK, etc.). I only had to reinstall nvidiainspector and fsrecorder. So happy with the smooth upgrade process. However, I notice that the FSX performance (in terms of FPS) degrades with time in each session of FSX. For example, I start out with 18-20 FPS at KSEA and after 5-8 minutes or so the FPS drops to as low as 1-3 FPS when I am flying the PA23 Alebo Aztec F250 by Carenado. When flying the default Beech Baron 58, I start out with 20-22 FPS and that drops to 8-10 FPS over time. The performance continues to be lower even when I move into low autogen areas. When I restart FSX it again starts with relatively higher FPS and starts declining with time. I started monitoring my CPU, GPU and memory usage and it seems like FSX is not using all available resources even in highly resource demanding areas such as KSEA or KTPA add-on FlyTampa Tampa Rebooted; like my max CPU usage stays at 49% (i7-4770k overclocked to 4.3 ghz), max GPU usage at 47% (EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB GDDR5), max memory usage 33% (Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 2133 MHz, occupying slots 1 & 3). Additionally, in the FSX startup window, the 'Home' and 'Learning Center' tabs are blank. All other tabs, including the 'Free Flight' tab, thankfully works. If anyone faced similar issues and found a fix, please share. I have pasted below some sections of my FSX.cfg which used to run fine in Windows 8.1 Pro. Thanks in advance and as always, greatly appreciate your inputs. 12. @WR269, thanks for your prompt response....much appreciated!
  13. Hi Sim Gurus, What are the key differences between REX and FTX Global? Why I notice folks having both? Doesn't REX improve your terrain, textures, cloud rendering etc., then what additional improvement FTX Global provides? In addition to that one has FTX vectors, FTX regional etc. Pardon my ignorance and thanks in advance for your input. If this has already been discussed please point me to the right link. Take care and happy flying!
