I don't know if this has already been adressed somewhere, at least I couldn't find anything on this topic: On my system LittleNavMap mixes up the types of the AI aircraft shown on the map. For example, a Skyhawk in XPlane shows up as a B738 in LNM, an A330-300 as an BE58, PA-18 as A333 and so on. The assignments are always the same, so not randomly chosen. This happens with XP11 as well as with XP12, and I saw this for a while in LNM, and still in 2.8.5.rc1. The plane I'm flying is recognised correctly, it's just the AI planes that are wrong. Is there a lookup table somewhere which messes this up?

Hello guys, recently I've updated to Windows 10 2004 Build 20170.1000. The problem is after the update, AS16 FSX version keeps crashing once my simulator is started. I tried everything it suggests me to do, but it is still not solved.

Hello all, I'm one of the later migrants from Windows 7 to 10 and dragging FS9 to the next gen with my new computer. As seen in this video, I am having some really annoying audio mix. I'm trying to find a solution but have yet to find one, has anyone got a fix or a link on how to fix this? *******CAUTION*********** The audio in the attachment is loud to showcase the issue, sorry headphone users. :) Thanks, -Mike

Hi folks, I have been flying W10, and P3D.. Kind of miss the MD11, and the B747. So I reinstalled FSX, with Aceleration, when opening FSX, I get an options dll error refering to PMDG. I did submit a ticket, but PMDG does not support the classic's any more. Thought someone might have a simple fix. This is the first time I have had a problem with W10...Otherwise, I really like the OS.. Thanks, Jerry Friz

Hi fellow simmers and FSX gurus, I recently upgraded to Windows 10 Pro from Windows 8.1 Pro. The upgrade went smoothly, except for few glitches relating to regenerating XML.dll and FSX.cfg files (thanks to the inputs I got here and other forums). FSX is up and running with all my add-ons (ORBX, REX, Aircrafts, EZDOK, etc.). I only had to reinstall nvidiainspector and fsrecorder. So happy with the smooth upgrade process. However, I notice that the FSX performance (in terms of FPS) degrades with time in each session of FSX. For example, I start out with 18-20 FPS at KSEA and after 5-8 minutes or so the FPS drops to as low as 1-3 FPS when I am flying the PA23 Alebo Aztec F250 by Carenado. When flying the default Beech Baron 58, I start out with 20-22 FPS and that drops to 8-10 FPS over time. The performance continues to be lower even when I move into low autogen areas. When I restart FSX it again starts with relatively higher FPS and starts declining with time. I started monitoring my CPU, GPU and memory usage and it seems like FSX is not using all available resources even in highly resource demanding areas such as KSEA or KTPA add-on FlyTampa Tampa Rebooted; like my max CPU usage stays at 49% (i7-4770k overclocked to 4.3 ghz), max GPU usage at 47% (EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB GDDR5), max memory usage 33% (Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 2133 MHz, occupying slots 1 & 3). Additionally, in the FSX startup window, the 'Home' and 'Learning Center' tabs are blank. All other tabs, including the 'Free Flight' tab, thankfully works. If anyone faced similar issues and found a fix, please share. I have pasted below some sections of my FSX.cfg which used to run fine in Windows 8.1 Pro. Thanks in advance and as always, greatly appreciate your inputs. I have posted this on the MilViz.com KA350 support forum but thought I’d see if anyone here has run into this problem. After updating Windows 10 to 10.0.19041 Build 19041 when I try to load the KA350i I get an error message “The operating system is not presently configured to run this application.” I reinstalled the P3D Client version 4.5.14.34698 and installed latest KA350i version 1.1.38 (removed previous versions of both first). My other MilViz aircraft load fine (B55, C310R, DHC-2, PC-6). I’m stumped.

Hi! My name is Keenen Davis, and I am a pilot in training for Delta Virtual Air Lines. I just got a brand new computer which runs much faster than the last one I had. On the previous computer, FSX constantly froze on landing and failed to render up-close images for seconds. On this new computer, FSX runs like a dream, and the graphics are fantastic; however, I've run into a problem with several aircraft that I've tried to fly. I am used to flying the A380 and the 777X at 485 knots at flight level 380, and have done so time and time again without issue...on the previous computer. On the new one, for some weird reason, the flight computer won't let me exceed 350 knots. Before takeoff, I have my lights on, and my altitude, speed, and heading are set as told by ATC, and I have flaps configured for takeoff. The HDG/GPS toggle switch is set to GPS, and the Flight Director mode is enabled. For takeoff, I turn taxispeed off and turn autothrottle on, and then I hit the Speed button. On takeoff, I set flaps down by one increment. The first officer puts the gear up. We takeoff smoothly at 225 knots at a climb rate of 1,200 feet per minute; at 1,000 feet, I ramp up the speed to 250 knots, and turn left or right as told by ATC while ascending to the assigned altitude. At 10,000 feet, I ramp up the speed to 320~350 knots, and as the engines start to accelerate, I set the flaps down again by one increment. At this point, as I ascend through FL180~FL280, I put the flaps all the way down; I should be able to accelerate further, but FSX won't let me. I ascend through FL320, and while I'm supposed to be flying at 485 knots, I am stuck at a maximum speed of 350 knots. As I ascend through FL300, in order to maintain speed, the plane gradually starts to floor it, giving me the impression that if I ascend any higher, I may enter a stall from which I may not be able to recover. According to Google, the 787 has a cruising speed of 487 knots at FL400. If I'm supposed to be able to reach FL400, why are my engines straining to produce thrust at FL300, and why can't I exceed 350 knots? What the heck am I doing wrong? Maybe it's an issue regarding the files of FSX. How can I fix this issue?

Now they tell us! I still have Windows 7 but will be upgrading to the 7700K soon and it will be mandatory to install Windows 10 then. Still, thought the article at the link interesting. http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/microsoft%E2%80%99s-agrees-windows-10-upgrade-was-pushed-too-aggressively.html

Hi, Took a bit of a gamble and upgraded to Windows 10 last week in the hope the joystick disconnect issue would be resolved (which it is) but now struggling to resolve a new problem. I've got a 3 screen setup running off a Geforce GTX 970 and generally put the 2d panel popups on the left and right screens. Since the upgrade they don't entirely work any more - see attached screengrab. The content of the popup (no matter what panel) left/top aligns and flickers at constant rate and panel like the CDU are unusable. I tried a few things (e.g. latest driver, followed the nvidia recommended settings pinned to the general forum) but to no avail. Anyone any ideas how to resolve this? Many thanks, Remy Becher

I am have a brand new system with Windows 10 installed by the PC manufacture. FSX was installed and I am having a lot of Microsoft Errors during flight which causes FSX to close. Please see the reports from AppCrashView and Windows viewer. Have tried moving the fsx.cfg file and restarting but it still gave the same error. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
