Sure Tom, will do as soon as I get home from work (4pm EDT). I see your example for comparison too. Will advise.

Thanks! Meanwhile I'm waiting to hear back from Paul! I'll let you guys know how that turns out! I'm really hoping that's it, because I'm out of ideas on what else could be causing it, and the fact it's happening on 2 different OS's and 2 different FS versions with the same installer, seems to point to it!

Thanks

>Tom,>>Just curious, have you tried this without your system OC'ed?If you mean my memory, yes, I tried the settings to bring it down to 800Mhz nothing else including the Graphic card is OC'd, and the memory is PC2-8500 Corsair Dominator memory, so 1066Mhz is the rated speed for that memory. Thanks!

That's exactly where it should be! Thanks!! Is that FS2004 or FSX? My problem is with the 744X. Also, can you verify the installer file information I provided for Ryan? (IF it's the 744X that is!)Thanks!

Thanks

What's interesting is you mentioned you were in the Eastern Time zone (EDT) which I'm in too. yet your timestamp is 1 hour behind mine? It's probably nothing, but that is a difference. If your timezone is properly set they should be the same. I checked mine and it is US Eastern Time with Daylight savings time checked.

I keep my installer files in a zip archive and I was reading the specifics from within the archive, without having actually extracted the installer. But then again, you would think that they should still be exactly the same. Hmmmmmm... The real way to tell would be for me to extract the install, run an MD5 sum hash on it, then send you the hash and check it. That would tell you bite for bite if they are exactly the same. Are you familiar with MD5 hash and the freeware GUI, MD5Summer?

That's a good point about the zip file, I checked my zip and it is also 7:24PM. Also that's a good idea about comparing hash files, I'll PM you with my email so you can send it, Thanks!!

Tom, you should have the hash in an e-mail now. Good luck. For anyone else reading this thread with interest, the hash of my 744X Installer was: dd8db173a21ba2a136399138df065a83Oh, and I just realized I spelled the word byte wrong two posts back. Geeze, what a night...

NP Al.Yes that would be good.Hey thanks for your interest and input anyway...Any suggestion is a good one at this stage.I have the 74X on my computer and she is as clean as a ...well...you know what I might refer too..lolNo security, no windows up-dates and no extras of any kind...and...of-course the problem remains. Now, could there be something in the BIOS that has some sort of controlling aspect to it...I know, don't be silly but this is getting crazier by the minute... No wonder a man drinks...lolHopefully Ryan and the boys will like my idea of "Data swapping"... It's gotta be worth a try and would certainly eliminate some variables.RegardsSteve
