October 17, 200817 yr Any more than this will provide no FS advantage: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814133232XP vs Vista is a lot like the Mac v Windows argument. It's more about dissin' the competition. Vista 64 works fine and you will Need a 64bit operating system for optimum performance now, and into the future.

October 18, 200817 yr Author OK.... I installed my new graphics card (Nvidia 8600 GT super - 1024 MB/ 128 bit / DDR2. and this seems to have made everything even worse. I can not even load FSX. I keep getting a message that says that this card does not meet min. requirements. need a Geforce3 or better. Isnt my new card a GeForce 8? I downloaded all the newest drivers, and software. Nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions before I take out the new card and return it.Jonathna Jonathan Bradbury A part of the Flight Sim World since 1980 System Stats:MS Windows 10 64bit Home / Intel Kaby Lake i7 @4.2 / ASUS MAX IX Hero Motherboard /Corsair DDR4 16.00G Ram /Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti Video Card
October 18, 200817 yr The 8600GT probably Is worse. That 1G of Vram is just a come-on. It's not necessary. You need the 8800GT. 512M of Vram is enough. However, try the full uninstall/install sequence with that (puny) 8600. Download the latest driver from the Nvidia site. Do not install yet. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us1st uninstall the driver with the control panel. Then boot into safe mode and run driversweeper. http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/Run this for both Nvidia and ATI drivers. Careful, this is a powerful tool. If you have an Nvidia mobo, be careful not to remove your mobo's drivers. Run it 2 or 3 times to make sure you cleaned out all that leftover ATI/Nvidia stuff. Then reboot to windows. Allow Windows to install its default Vdriver. Now install the Nvidia driver. Reboot one more time. Always follow this sequence Any time you install a driver. Going back and forth between ATI to Nvidia is especially hazardous.
October 19, 200817 yr Author ok.... I am starting to get a little upset. I have upgraded to 2 new graphic cards, and Vista. I am still getting the same results. no md11. This is what I get for being impatient and not just sticking with FS9 (the only real FS.. In my opinion). But before I give up and remove fsx (again), does anyone have anymore suggestions for trying to get this thing working?Still hoping,Jonathan Jonathan Bradbury A part of the Flight Sim World since 1980 System Stats:MS Windows 10 64bit Home / Intel Kaby Lake i7 @4.2 / ASUS MAX IX Hero Motherboard /Corsair DDR4 16.00G Ram /Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti Video Card
October 19, 200817 yr Commercial Member Jonathan,We've had a very small handful of people report similar problems. Unfortunately, we have been unable to reproduce this problem on any of the developer or beta testing machines.Contact PDMG customer support at [email protected]. We may have some new models that we would like you to test if you are willing to volunteer.Best,http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...er_MD11_Vin.jpg Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
October 19, 200817 yr Hello everyone:Running into a similar issue. All textures were fine for my flights yesterday. When I load the aircraft this morning, she is missing textures. I am attaching 2 images. No changes were made to my system.I'll download the latest NVDIA Drivers. (GE Force 8800 GTX)Thanks.Fabio
October 19, 200817 yr For what its worth, my 2 cents. Cleaning the disk from previous video drivers isn't always necessary. Still you could have the same problems present with new drivers or even a new card. The registry keeps settings for the video driver and parts of it may remain there even after uninstalling/installing drivers. Cleaning that is the most important. As ATI user the best way to reset registry items is to load Factory Defaults from the CC menu. For nVidia i guess there's some kind of similar switch?Regards, Gerrit Gerrit
October 20, 200817 yr Author Vin, I would be more than happy to test the new models. I have sent the email already. I am very excited about getting the MD11 working correctly. This aircraft is the only reason that I re-installed in FSX.Jonathan Jonathan Bradbury A part of the Flight Sim World since 1980 System Stats:MS Windows 10 64bit Home / Intel Kaby Lake i7 @4.2 / ASUS MAX IX Hero Motherboard /Corsair DDR4 16.00G Ram /Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti Video Card
October 20, 200817 yr Questions about this issue...Does the PMDG MD11 requires any special version of Directx? Im asking because I'm showing Version 10, I'm curious about what version the guys that are not showing any visual errors have...Also, will running the Monitor at 75Hz make a difference against running it at 60Hz?Please forgive me if these questions are out of the way with the issue we are having here...Thanks Regards Sergio Sanchez
November 2, 200817 yr Author Hey Vin, I sent in a email and havent heard back yet. Is there any progress this issue? I am still having the same issues. November 3, 200817 yr Jonathan,I also am able to duplicate texture abnormalities with the MD11. The attached picture is from earlier today with the aircraft climbing though plenty of SHD FEX clouds. Usually the texture problems occur with more frequency towards the later portions of long haul flights. However this example was during intermediate climb shortly after takeoff. I am using the 178.24s. Ryan Kelly
