This is to tell Erick and Adam and the rest of everyone in this forum about how they treat people who have been dedicated painters for them for years. Before the release of the KH 737 NG series. Erick sent me the texture files so I could paint them. He also gave me the permission to release at the same time as the main release happened. He claims to have told me to make sure to check the readme file. WHICH HE DIDNT SAY AT ALL. I uploaded at the same time the main release files were uploaded to avsim. Shortly afterward I recived a very rude email from Adam Stanger. Who informed me that my files had been removed from AVSIM without any sort of forewarning at all for a "violation " of copyright rules. He then explained in subsiquent emails that I did not include the readme file in my releases. WHICH I NEVER HAD. As i stated before my repaints were uploaded at the same time as the release which included the readme which Erick had never sent to me. I let Adam know that I had the readme file and I would include it in futre repaints but i didnt think that it was very prudent to remove my files given the circumstances and force me to reupload 60MB worth of files (the ENTIRE Southwest Airlines 737-700) series. Well at any rate he refused to hear reason. Now flash forward about 3 months. I have recently reuploaded the entire series. With the readme file. Now i did not know this but i included a modified readme file. The same reademe file included with the main KH release save some modifications to Adams name which i made in anger 3 months ago but never uploaded and forgot about. Anyways i got an email from Avaim explaining that the files had once again been removed due to the inappropriate nature of the readme. I contacted Erick to ask tell him how this ENTIRE ordeal could have been avoided had he just told Adam from the get go that HE had given me permission to upload these files without a readme. Well like Adam, he refused to hear me out. He has since informed me to not contact him. Now me oppinion on this is that Erick and Adam for some reason are being a bit self rightous. I have over the years done my beast to make a positive contribution to the flightsimming community. I have never gotten involved in undue conflict on any forums and anyone who knows me can attest to this. Futhermore I have always defended people in this community that were under undue attack. I guess this is my payment for all my hard work. So it is with a heavy heart that I am from this moment on ceasing my paint work. I think that the way I was treated like a 2nd class citizen by both Erick and Adam is appalling. My hope that is if I have any friends here they will come to my defense, Until that happens... I've explained this to you on several occasions.The readme was changed without me knowing about it, which is irrelevent, because I told you to check al release documentation beforehand. I told you things were liable to change and I just didn't know, so make sure to check! I tell this to you painters before every release and as of yet no-one seems to listen!Whenever the subject comes up between the two of you I keep giving you options. I'VE BEEN ON YOUR SIDE SINCE THE BEGINNING EVEN THOUGH THIS DOES NOT CONCERN ME. I'm sick of trying to negotiate between you two, and I'm even sicker of trying to find ways to solve the problem that would be easy for you, and having my suggestions outright ignored, only so that I can be told I'm not cooperating! This is a waste of my time and effort, and I am simply not putting up with it anymore.I find it funny that no matter what I do to try to make you happy, it just goes simply unappreciated and unnoticed. I;ve done my best to please you, and at this point I just give up. I have planes to deal with, which is really what my job is. This is NOT AN ISSUE BETWEEN YOU AND ME! I make the planes, and Adam handles legal issues. Complaining to me every time you cannot follow directions is not the way to solve the problem. Sounds like a chance to ask him for his phone number and to discuss on the telephone. Email is awful for conflict resolution. Your work is very good as is his. Something doesnt seem right here. You don't learn do you Rick?All you had to do was put the damned readme in it's original form from the Release files in the zip and there wouldn't be *ANY* problem. Yet you continue to pester Erick on the forums, on IM, and everywhere else.No one is flaming you Rick. Learn what the word means and get your head out of your rear-end when you're done. If you don't want to admit that you made a mistake and fix it, then that's your problem.You claim on IM that you haven't talked to Adam in months and don't have his e-mail address, but yet in your SGA post you said that Adam E-mailed you and was rude. Well the plane hasn't been out for "months" for that to happen, so I don't see why you have such a problem just MOVING ON!!!!!!!!

what do you mean it hasnt been out for months. Look at the file dates dude. APRIL thats MONTHS in my book .......... I dont need to learn from you .. You werent there. I made a mistake by not putting the readme in my initial release and i waited 3 months to reupload at which time i DID put it in (just the wrong one) LAST WEEK and the second i got the email from avsim I contacted Erick to tell him about it. And i was ###### at first then i looked at the readme file i uploaded and was like "HOLY CRAP" I realized that it was the wrong one VERY WRONG ONE and by that time erick had allready convicted me of PESTERING him. You obviously DONT READ DO YOU CHRIS?? LOOK ABOVE AND AT MY OTHER POSTS I DID ADMIT I MADE A MISTAKE. WHAT I OBJECT TO IS BEING TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL FOR MAKING IT THIS IS FREEWARE .........NOT AN MS ANTITRUST ISSUE. Can we all just get along. Myself repanited and created panels in the past. I agree on all parts. I asked the right people for permission to repaint and too use there gauges in my panels. All I had to do is list them as the creators of the gauges and aircraft.I ran into no problems like this.But I know one thing, This type of discussion is not a screenshot forum discussion but a va Email discussion.Lets see pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look youre Right this whole thing is stupid. I am sorry for the modified readme. It was a mistake to not upload my original release without one. And It was an accident to upload last week with the modified one. I forgot I had modified it. I am sorry to Avsim for starting this thread. I wont appologise for feeling like I wasn't treated fairly and I dont expect an appology. But I give mine now for what its worth.

That didn't hurt a bit... well maybe except your pride a little. Well now in a few days, with clearer heads, you and Adam and Erick will work it all out, and EVERYONE can continue to enjoy your work.

Anytime i see a certain persons name enter a discussion i instantly feel disgusted... :-erks (I wont call names but thank god for poskys new review system)... In any case.. Rick My hats off to you and while you may feel strongly and hurt about this issue right now ... and i dont blame ya.. maybe you will be able to find designers that are more flexible and accomodating in the future to work with.. so dont shut everyone out ... everyone isnt perfect but i presume the lesson learned is to be very selective with the people you work with.I also just read the thread @ sgair and mikes advice is cool calm and collected... try it out first before you make your final decisionMy support goes to you.cheers

Usually I don't respond to threads like these, especially when they are none of my business and don't involve me. I have to say though, did it really take all of this on at least two different sites to resolve this? I agree with another poster saying this is rediculous for freeware work. A lot of you have your panties twisted in one too many ways.I am not just saying that to anyone in particular here, but everyone that gets all bent out of shape over the littlest things regarding flight simulation freeware. My God, take all of that energy and do something positive in the real world. Believe me, we need it!Craig

Rick:Now, I have no affiliation with anyone involved in this. By taking a private matter to the public like this you have escalated the situation and potentially made it worse for yourself. Why do you need people to defend you? I don't recall seeing a post from Erick and or Adam here attacking you, telling everyone that you are a bad person. However, here you are attacking them, telling everyone that they are bad people while relating that your actions in angst brought this situation upon yourself.While I understand that you are having problems which you may have inadvertently predicated by your actions, I feel it necessary to say that this is not the appropriate manner in which to deal with it. This is the Screen Shots Forum and not the These People Suck Because... forum. Kinda' sounds to me like the initial problem was a misunderstanding while the second was purely negligence and you got burned for it. We all make mistakes, but what seperates the good from the bad is the ability to learn from it and move forward.Remember, while what may have happened does not seem fair to you, it does make you look bad when you resort to the level of public ranting because you have a case of the "I'll Show You's"... take it from me, I have been burned in the past for doing something like this.
