March 4, 200422 yr Same here, I had to hard-kill AS2b90 when I saw the temp readout on my computer shoot up to 54C degrees due to it using all my cpu resources. Eric
March 4, 200422 yr I just installed the new patch and tried creating a flight plan and it worked perfectly fine. Maybe the problem fixed itself.
March 4, 200422 yr Hmm,if you kill an application because it's using up all your CPU, you'll be quite busy killing FS9 ;-)Seriously, it doesn't really matter which software gobbles up all your CPU resources, the thermal effect will be much the same, worse of course if there is also a high load on your GPU, as is the case when running FS9.You didn't say whether the 52 degress was your mainboard or CPU temp. 52 would be on the lower of the temp scale for an older AMD Thunderbird CPU and perfectly within specs for any moder processor. You can run any PIV or AMD CPU safely at temps of up to 85
March 4, 200422 yr Hello Support,I try with Beta Build90 v1.1! Big Problem with Fetch or Load Flightplan, work not! See picture... "Keine R I am deaf. Though i try my very best my linguistic possibilities are limited: i will make mistakes.
March 4, 200422 yr Hi Sebastian, here build 90 works perfectly. In your screenshot is see two ActiveSky2004. Did you open AS2004 two times ?here is a screenshot off my Task Managerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpgPatrick/EBBRhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/65690.jpg Regards, patrickHiFi Technologies Apha TesterFDC/PFE 3 Beta TesterAivlaSoft EFB Alpha Tester
March 4, 200422 yr It appears that the problem is definitely data related!I just processed that very same Hobart to Sydney flight plan again and it was ready within the timeframe I am used to from previous builds. Fetching custom station reports is also as fast as I remember it.Metar is dated 041700ZOf course I'm still curious what in the data causes AS to take so long to process the data.Best RegardsMax (Bern, LSZB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
March 4, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Everyone,Network maintenance was to blame for data incompleteness earlier today/last night. This is not version dependant and would happen on any version of AS2004 (B90 is not the problem). As mentioned in the pinned topic, this maintenance should be completed by the end of the week and we are actively updating the server code to handle these situations better (namely to prevent the long client processing during interpolation of unavailable data). Thanks for your patience! As of now things look good.Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 4, 200422 yr Hallo Max,Thanks (Danke), but 3 Waypoints about 15mins! I break this AS2004! I try, again! It is okay! Some problem long wait! I understand your write!Best RegardSebastian I am deaf. Though i try my very best my linguistic possibilities are limited: i will make mistakes.
March 4, 200422 yr Try it again now.AS Damian pointed out, due to network maintenance the data is sometimes incomplete, leading to very long porcessing times.Right now I can process any flight plan with the speed we are used to. So obviously the data is OK as of roughly 2000Z (12:00 MET)Best RegardsMax (Bern, LSZB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
March 4, 200422 yr Double post due to impatience with slow server, sorry about thatBest RegardsMax (Bern, LSZB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
March 4, 200422 yr Hi Damian and Jim!don't know what you have done, but i just wanted to let you know that with the above release everything worked as it should - NO problems with update, flightplan process, fetching, writing, wind speed and direction and the best: not a single cloud pop up!i just did a flight (seperate thread will follow) - and that was the best flight since i own FS2004!many thanks for that program and pls keep it up!my hat's off!cheers,harald/loww
March 4, 200422 yr DamianJust managed to complete my first flight with build 90, with all options same as 87 and I can only hope my experience was due to bad data and network problems. The flight from Hobart to Sydney was ver rough, winds en route (FP loaded, wind smoothing on) were first shifting 5 to 10 degrees in various directions ever 3 to 5 nm, then suddenly, shortly after getting my feet dry over the australian mainland, I had a 100 degree shift (89
March 4, 200422 yr Just tried setting up for a flight using build 90. I'm sittin on the ground at CYHZ. AS2004 is giving me the weather for SWBC instead. The time is 042150z.Refreshing/Restarting AS and Flight Sim does not correct the problem. I'm using the latest registered version of FSUIPC and WIDEFS.
