**Updated for B131 availability - B131 changes listed in revision log below...Hello All AS2004 Users!!!We are delighted to announce that the new MR2 beta build, B131, is available for testing by all existing AS2004 users!Remember this is a beta version, not an official release. Please use at your own risk and make sure you have a copy of your original installation package in case you need to revert back. You MUST have ActiveSky2004 v1.0 or later already installed to run this beta update installation. Many new changes have been made since B115. New Direct Wind Control brings consistent wind depiction at all times without the problems of FS9

Have been looking forawrd to it. Unfortunately, I get 'error initializing - check your .INI file' and the program fails to load any weather to FS. This is on a remote machine.Cheers,Gareth Evans

ueee!first post!I've been awaiting this moment fora long time now :)thankshow about fsuipc (it'snot possible to get ver 3.308 yet...)for registered fsuipc users is it still good to keep as2004 vis smoothing off and all the options as in build 115?RLuca

Hehehehe! NOT first post! ;-) But nice try!

>Hehehehe! NOT first post! ;-) >>But nice try!almost did it ;)anyway back to the question... :)

Damian,Looks great. Can you post what our FSUIPC/AS2004 settings should be. It seems that there is so many changes, I want to make sure I have the settings set up to ensure maximum realisim. I use online winds. Thanks.

Luca, how about fsuipc (it'snot possible to get ver 3.308 yet...)After installing this (over your existing installation) you must manually update your FSUIPC (and wideclient application if on WideFS). Please see the revisions.txt documentation (in the beta zip package) for detailed info. B130 REQUIRES the FSUIPC 3.308 test version to be installed.Special Note for B130: This is a public beta build, and requires test versions of FSUIPC 3.30.8 (AND WideClient 6.232 if WideFS is used). These are INCLUDED in the ModulesActiveSky2004 folder.hope this helpshttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpgPatrick/EBBR

It's fixed. I uninstalled and reinstalled from the ground up, works great now.How appropriate that we are having some incredible weather here in Staffordshire as I type. Enormous thunder storm, rain like I haven't seen in years, and very gusty winds. It's blowing off the roofs in sheets, and overflowing the gutters because all the drains are totally inundated!Cheers,Gareth Evans

Hi Eric..Always start with minimal fsuipc wx defaults and normal AS2004 defaults. With registered FSUIPC, you can then change the smoothing intervals to your preference (unregistered FSUIPC stays at the default intervals, which is fine). I like 2kts/deg per second wind smoothing, and defaults everywhere else.Hope that helps!

Wished you would have kept it down there Gareth :-), it recently arrived up here in Manchester.

I was so excited by the release I went home during lunch, downloaded it, and installed it :) Thanks guys for working so hard on this, I am waiting now till I get off of work so I can go home and fly with it. GARY

Damien,Two questions:I have my update interval set to 30 minutes yet I have had multiple updates in the last 20 minutes. Are updates processed at a fixed interval or at an interval based on last update completion time? Also, I noted that updates are being posted to reporting stations that are opposite my direction of flight and for stations that are more than 300 miles away. Should that be happening?-michael

Very nice!I'm trying it now.I noticed that now there is a NIL voice in the metar, i guess it means there is no metar available for that station.Right?

Hi Damian, just wanted to let you know that there's still something strange with the wind smoothing logic.I first experienced this with the previous release and I'm still getting it now with the new build, even though is a little less noticeable. The problem is that each time the wind smoothing is "smoothing", the IAS jumps in steps, either up or down, if goes up, then it will come down, always in steps at the same time the wind is changing directions and FSUIPC/AC2004 is smoothing the transition. I hope you know what I mean.I fly PMDG's 737-700 and during climbs or decents this is very frustrating, because the aircraft tries to mantain the speed by either pitching up or down. If I'm in cruise the autothrottle keeps going up or down trying to mantain speed or decelerate, depends of the situation. With the previous release I took some notes, and what I noticed, is that if the wind veers, the speed (IAS) will increase (always in steps), if the wind backs, the speed usually decreases. But always there was a point where the effect reverts, let me explain a little further. Let's say that the winds are 265/34, and a wind transition starts, let's say the next target is 325/39, during the first half of smoothing (from 265 degrees to 295 degrees) while the wind is veering, the IAS jumps (in steps) up to a point where starts to jump back (after the 295 degrees, hence after the first half of the transition). This behaviour caught my attention even though is not 100% accurate (wind veers=IAS increase is common, but is not the rule), I just wanted to pass this info to you.Using registered FSUIPC 3.0.8 and AS2004 MR2 beta build 130.Regards,Carlos.

Hi Michael,It is fixed, and manual refreshes or auto refreshes caused by loading a new wx snapshot, crashing the aircraft, changing position, saving options, etc, will not reset the timer. So multiple updates can be normal. The reason for this is to provide a consistent update-interval refresh (despite other refreshes) of all FS9 station wx data so that clouds do not pop out.Concerning stations outside 300nm... this could also be normal, it depends on the area. There will be a minimum of 5 stations loaded despite the range (which is 300nm default). A rescan at +100nm is looped until a total of 5 or more stations with valid data are found.Hope that helps!
