December 26, 200520 yr Hi,Pretty sure this is a FS04 situation. Chris may know more.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 26, 200520 yr Hi,Visibility is only in a forward direction. You need OVC to hid the ground. The visibility layer is at 10000.Make sure Overcast Enhancement is On.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

December 26, 200520 yr Hi,Visibility should also be the same for left/right. You said down before. It is possible that you are seeing weather from nearby weather stations.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 26, 200520 yr >>It is possible that you are seeing weather from nearby weather stations<. I hate to be annoying . Does this mean L/R should be the same as forward, or L should be same as R (visa versa), not necessarily as forward is?I hope it's the same all around. That'll be important to the work ahead. Regardless, ASV6 results in hands-down, the best most realistic wx display(s) I've ever seen in FS.
December 27, 200520 yr Hi,In your first post you said when flying over a station you could see the ground. If you are directly over anything, the only way to see it is to look down!Visibility relates to all horizontal views. That is what I should have said the first time!!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 27, 200520 yr Hi Jim,Two follow-up questions on the settings:1. What would be a realistic value for the 'Turb Frequency' setting, can't find any info on that setting in the manual?2. About this FS9 haze layer setting, when in the settings dialog and holding the mouse over it it says that you should UNCHECK that box to disable the haze layer while the manual states that CHECKING that option will eliminate FS9's haze layer and instead let ASv6 handle it. This makes me abit confused...I know you suggested to uncheck it but according to the manual that would mean you won't let ASv6 handle it and I thought that would be better than letting FS9 handle it...?Hmm...;-)
December 27, 200520 yr Hi Web.1. The default/empty value is 50% and many find that good. Some want more so they put it to 75. I like a lot so I have mine at 100. It is a new option so experiment! Remember though, this does not change the strength of the turbulence. For that you need to edit the FS9.cfg.2. Drat! I forgot about that line in the manual. It should read UNCHECK. We got the FSUIPC directions changed, but not that one. UNCHECK to disable the FS9 haze layer. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 28, 200520 yr Damian,To do this, I set the Dep/Arr/Alternate airports along with cruise altitude and speed and then do I use the Start AS6 paused option or do I select Ignore FS ready status or some other option prior to starting FS9? Eric
December 29, 200520 yr Hi Eric,Any of those could be used, because after starting FS04 all the textures besides the cirrus are set.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg
December 29, 200520 yr Thanks for the recommendationsAs an AS newbie I am still a bit confused on the start up sequence...ie AS first and then FS or the reverse? If I start AS and then FS they do not connect. Is that normal?ThanksBill
December 29, 200520 yr Great topic Jim,Can I suggest that it gets pinned.RegardsRussell Jourdain (ANZ007/ZK-RHJ)
