January 2, 200620 yr Hi,Are you clicking on the Save Changes blue bar?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg
January 2, 200620 yr >Hi,>>Are you clicking on the Save Changes blue bar?>>Hope this helps,>JimI don't seem to be able to find such an option in the selections panel. The only such option I can is in the properties of each texture. Below is a screenshot of what I'm looking at, maybe you could highlight from the screenshot what I should be clicking in order to save changes I've made and for them not to be edited each time I load AS6.http://img317.imageshack.us/img317/9449/clipboard017ra.jpgCheers,James
January 2, 200620 yr Hi,Click on the Item Properties and then the Save Changes bar will be on the next screen.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg
January 2, 200620 yr I've tried doing that but when the boxes do finally uncheck and stay that way, it then just uses random texture and no particular texture, depiste me having chosen one particular one to use. Cheers,James
January 2, 200620 yr Hi,If you are using wx Influenced then you cannot choose a specific texture, only which to exclude from the choice.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg
January 2, 200620 yr HI Jim,If i can summarize what James wants to be clear is the result of the following procedure:1. He opens up ASG 2. Goes to Options menu of AS6.0 and changes Auto-submit for both Full Sky Theme and Cirrus Theme to "Wx-influenced"3. Opens up ASG and selects Selection Details4. Changes Custom 3D Clouds to Wx-influenced and does so for Sky Color and Environment options except Full Sky Theme and Cirrus Theme which have been already defined via the Options menu of Active Sky (#2)5. Submits all his selections to FS6. Opens FS and/or ASG and CANNOT see the changes he has previously made for 3D Clouds, Environment and Sky Color.James, if this is the way you make changes to ASG please confirm.Jim, could you recommend anything?Regards,Rustam Regards,Victor Quebec
January 2, 200620 yr Hi,Now that is not how I read this! He wants a mix of wx Influenced textures, but wants to always use the same runway lights and some other textures, so he wants to exclude those. I could be wrong. The more this goes the more confused I get!!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg
January 2, 200620 yr Thanks for the replies lads. Jim most of what Rustam has said is correct. However the only things I have put as wx-influenced are those 2 options in the options panel when I start up AS6. The rest like 3D clouds, Environment etc. I have chosen specific txtures for but they always change everytime I load up despite proceeding with your instructions above. I would like some themes to be wx-influenced but when it comes to the dusk, dawn, day and night textures and the environment theme I'd like to pick them myself and have them load up the way I saved them before. Cheers,James
January 2, 200620 yr I think I understand what you are trying to do.You want to use the WX-Influenced theme in AS6, but only for certain items. And you are right, it does not appear that you can easily set it up this way from within the ASG interface. Unless you use Jim's suggestion to exclude each individual texture (in the texture properties) that you don't want so that you are left with only one texture for each selection that you do not want changed. A bit of a cumbersome way to do this. This method also affects any theme that uses Random or ICG.But, there appears to be an easier way! Fortunatly, the ASG manual provides instructions on how to do what you are looking for.In ASG, set up a custom theme that includes all the selections. Save it with a name of your choice. Use a text editor to manually edit the .THM file that you saved and change only the selections that you want to be weather influenced so that they have "WX" after them. In AS6 Options, select the theme you saved instead of the WX-Influenced theme. For example, say you want 3DClouds to be weather influenced. In the them file you saved, change this:3DCloudMap = "005 Thin Fluffy 1"to this:3DCloudMap = "WX"Do the same for the other settings you want weather influenced.Have fun!...jim

Lets say now that I don't want to use the wx-influenced theme here, that I just want the textures of the themes I've chosen to load up after having chosen sepcific ones in ASG prior to starting up AS6. How can I get them to load the same each time? Cheers,James

January 2, 200620 yr >>You select & submit them directly using "Send To FS" button. >>Michael J.And must I do this every time? If so that seems a bit silly that I have to do this each and everytime I start up AS6.Cheers,James
January 2, 200620 yr >And must I do this every time? NO. Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
January 2, 200620 yr >NO. >>Michael J.I was sorta expecting someone to say yes because this is my problem. Even when I don't choose wx-influened as the option for some or all of the themes, they still always change as if they were set to random! I can't stop this. I've tried everything everyone has told me to do but it seems the only way for me to get the certain textures I want to load up is to select every single time I load up AS6. I'm getting very frustrated with this new version of Activesky. All I want is for certain textures to remain the same everytime like runway lights and dusk, dawn, day and night textures but for others like clouds to change according to the weather!Surely there must be a simple way to do such a simple thing with this addon?!Cheers,James
