December 31, 200520 yr Outstanding work, gentlemen. And this little "Realistic Settings" checklist is exactly what i'm looking for. I have several people in our VA asking about what's the best setting for Real-time weather and this is exactly it.thanks for a great product. i'm liking your clouds very much. infact, now i guess i can uninstall FlightEnvironment, eh? cause only thing i was using that for was the clouds.hmmm...which leads me to: if i uninstall FE, is it gonna take the clouds with it? if so, I'd need to setup ASV again?thanks again.
December 31, 200520 yr Commercial Member HI, "i can uninstall FlightEnvironment, eh? cause only thing i was using that for was the clouds."You can uninstall and it will not remove the clouds from ASV, and you don't need to re install asv again.Ps: Many users like now ASGThanksChris Willishttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
December 31, 200520 yr Hi Andrew,Thanks for the feedback! I worked few hours on that, just to make sure things were good and then the team approved it.When you uninstall FE nothing will be touched. The clouds FE was using are a part of FE. By now you have AS clouds in FS04.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg
December 31, 200520 yr oh man...you guys are great!yeah, that's what i was speculating; but thanks for confirming. what an awesome organization you guys are running.
December 31, 200520 yr Hi Jim I have set my Options according to your Specs with regard to the Active Sky Graphics i have set this to WX Influenced is this correct.............Regards robin
January 1, 200620 yr Hi Robin,Correct, if you wish to match the textures to the weather based on the departure airport. You must set the departure airport or process a flightplan.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg
January 1, 200620 yr Hi, just another quick question regarding AS6. I've looked through the manuals but have failed to gte a clear answer which is something I find frustrating with the AS6 manauls, nothing is explained in enough detail. But basically must I have to load up AS Graphics each and every time I wload up AS6 and then FS? I've noticed that my previous settings that I selected in AS Graphics are never saved and they ALWAYS change. I find it quite annoying to have to load AS Graphics up everytime I want to get my settings. Could you shed some light on this please? And finally I read in a post above that you should always put the AS route in before starting up FS. Does the weather not load better when you have waypoints in between? Is there no way that you can load up FS, make a flightplan and then export it to Activesky without there being problems with the weather loading properly? Is it just a case that if I want to include waypoints in between, that I make a flightplan before my actual flight and then submit it when loading AS6 intially? Can you confirm that putting waypoints in between the departure and destination airports enhances the weather somewhat?Cheers,James
January 1, 200620 yr Hi James,1. What settings change? Your cloud resolutions or the textures? No, you do not need to run ASG everytime. In fact if you set up the Auto-submit Option in the Graphics portion of ASv6, you never need to open ASG.2. If you are using Wx Influenced textures this only looks at the weather conditions at your departure airport and then sets the textures. You can do this manually in ASv6 before starting FS04. No, adding waypoints does not enhance the weather at all. It just gives you more details in your nav log.The manual is not meant to be an "end-all, answer all" document. There is much to cover. That's why we have a forum with so many people waiting to help.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg

Its the textures that change for me. The particular runway lighting that I want to use always changes, the haze colour I'd like to load is changed, the moon texture is changed, likewise with the sun etc etc. and I always have to change these every time for them to load up. I have setup the auto-submit option in AS6 options but its those other textures that still always change for me.I understand about the document, the manual definitly does help but there are sometimes issues that aren't explained well enough but good to know they will be answered swiftly and explained well here.Is there a way for those textures that are changing to stay set the way they were?Cheers,James
January 1, 200620 yr Hi,What Themes are you auto-submitting? You do need to uncheck those textures you do not want changed.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg
January 1, 200620 yr >Hi,>>What Themes are you auto-submitting? You do need to uncheck>those textures you do not want changed.>>Hope this helps,>JimI've unchecked those textures that I don't want changed in AS Graphics in the Selection Details interface and still they change. And when I close down FS and open up ASG I find that those boxes I unchecked have checked themselves again. Also the only themes I'm able to auto-submit via the options panel is the cirrus theme and the full sky theme. As I said above, each time I go into ASG the boxes are always ticked, depite me unticking them and clicking the 'Send to FS' button. Cheers,James
