June 3, 200422 yr Hi,The only info I have been able to find is on this web site http://www.avshop.com/catalog/product.html...&categoryid=191In small print it says " Availability: End of June "Ed
June 3, 200422 yr I was told by FSCentral that they would be getting them on on June 7th and shipping them out on the 9th. I preordered from them becauses it was only $149.
June 3, 200422 yr I don't know about the date, but Provantage is offering the quadrant for $136. That is the lowest I have been able to find yet.http://www.provantage.com/buy-22089599-ch-...sb-shopping.htmCraig
June 3, 200422 yr Author It's been strangely quiet anout the throttle both from Chproducts and on the forums. Thanks for the responses.Randall
June 8, 200421 yr Latest word from FSCentral, The Throttle Quadrant will not be out in time for Fathers Day. They said CH was finishing up on some tooling, what ever that means, and then they would be shipped.
June 9, 200421 yr I don't know guys, if they're still talking about mold makers and tooling, sounds like it's a fair piece off still. I can't for the life of me imagine why a company would confidently announce that a product will ship on "x" date when they're not even done making them yet. I'm losing a bit of faith in CH. Anyone tried the Elite MEL Throttle Quadrant? It's all metal and seems to retail for $250... not too much more than CH and I'd imagine it's a lot sturdier feeling, too.
June 9, 200421 yr It's the price. You could get a CH throttle quadrant on provantage.com for $139 (if they were available anyway). That's $110 difference - I'll wait if I can save $110!I'm sure the elite product is sweet though.
June 9, 200421 yr I've had the Elite MEL Quadrant for about four years now and it works fine but their are some limitations. For example:It will fight the autothrottle. The autothrottle wins, but if you have the levers in a different position then the autothrottle wants them in you'll see a bit of jumping around if you look at the throttle display in FS. This is not that big of a deal at all, but can be annoying at times. Also, I always have to restart FS or reload the Default situation when switching aircraft because the throttle will default to full reverse in the idle position after switching aircraft. The only REAL problem is the throttle does not support reverse thrust. For this reason, and this reason alone, I too already ordered the CH throttle from FSCentral. I must say I'm very dissapointed in CH.Although, my new PFC Cirrus Jet Yoke that's arriving today may make me forget about it :-)Take care,/Dave
August 5, 200421 yr I emailed sales At CH today (7-4-04). Here's what I wrote and the response:At 12:49 PM 8/4/2004 -0700, you wrote:I'm curious, as I'm sure a lot of us are, as to when the new throttle quadrant will be released. Previously it was to be available a month or 2 ago, but no word on its' status. Would you please let me know when it should be available to your suppliers?Thank you very much.J. DowgialoDear Sir,Thank you for your email. Our Throttle Quadrant is currently in Beta (testing). If all goes well, production will begin shortly thereafter.Thank you for your interest in CH Products!!Best Regards !Debby McDowell Director of Sales & Marketing*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~25 years of innovation and reliability !!! Oh well, more patience is in order.
August 5, 200421 yr Dave,If you use FSUIPC you can set the throttle idle anywhere you want to ensure you have reverse throttle. It's not quite the same if you don't have the detents but you get used to it pretty quickly.David
August 5, 200421 yr I met a representative for CH Products at Oshkosh and also tried the new throttle there. According to him the release will be within two weeks and nothing about the quality and functionality of the throttle gives me reason to believe that is not the case. August 5, 200421 yr let me ask this silly question guys... Is it Go Flight Throttle quadrant better? i has a "better" depictedt reverser, and I think more functionallity....I don't know, I own CH Pedals and am very happy with them, I was thinking to go for the throttle before the Joke, since my MS FFB Joystick wont give up soon... and I was thinking about GoFligth's option...Any owners of Goflight module?
