October 17, 200718 yr Author Driver No 163.71Ed, I'm not sure why you are getting this, as I am not.I'm running a GF 7800, and ALL my graphics settings in the Nvidia panel are maxed out.I don't get the black box any more in the aircraft preview window, and also if I open up the chat window I don't get a black block below the chat window.I just tried it in SB3 as well, and I get the same thing, no more black boxes.I'm going to attach a screen shot to show what I mean of the Nvidia control panel settings.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/178984.jpg Steve. October 17, 200718 yr Hey thereIm using the Geforce 7600GS 512RAM and I cant get the antialiasing to work. Ive got it set as above but everything is still jaggy. Any ideas anyone what may be wrong?Rich
October 17, 200718 yr Author Hmmm.Make sure that you guy's are in the "Advanced View" setting, because I did notice that if you are not, then you will miss out on a few of these additional settings. And a couple of them are probably the cause why it is not letting you make the necessary adjustments to the display properties. For instance, in the "Basic" setting, I did notice that IT wanted to keep altering my "let the app decide" bit all the time.I hope this helps.PS you did all un-install your previous drivers first didn't you!and I know you all ran Driver Cleaner Pro as well !Then Re-Booted the PC and installed this New driver. October 17, 200718 yr Well I did not uninstall my previous drivers....I have it all set up the same as you ...but no joy. regardsEdaka Capt. October 17, 200718 yr Well ive uninstalled them and been re starting my comp like a mad man after everything ive done but ive still got the jaggies, going to go back to my old drivers that worked fine I think. Ed I aslo still have the black screen at the menu where the plane should be.Rich
October 17, 200718 yr Seeing this thread, I thought I'd chime in. Was running old drivers (77.77) for a long time. Rolled the dice with 162.18 drivers with good results; notable are that I have the image back in the preview pane as well and while the jaggies were present the first time I started up FS9, they went away when I activated AA in the sim. And I don't believe I'm doing anything different with other settings as anybody else... Rick
October 17, 200718 yr Author Well I am most confused now as to why this is happening to you guy's.and I'm disappointed for you too, I was hoping that this had cured the problems for all of us that have been waiting for this to be fixed.Sorry I couldn't be of any further help to you guy's.But rest assured that if I do come up with anything, or think of anything else, I will let you know straight away. October 18, 200718 yr ...I'm not complaining.:-) I've got the preview pane back without having to change my video card's AA down to 4 or switch to window mode. The funny part for me is activating AA in FS9, which I'd never done. Rick
October 18, 200718 yr Try downloading nHancer and use that to set up a profile. One thing that's important, is that you now have to make a copy of the default MSFS profile, so the original one is disabled, delete the newly made copy and then create a new profile from scratch. It got me over the worst round of jaggies I've had for a while.
October 18, 200718 yr Hi all, there is a Beta driver on the Nvidia web site, 163.75. I have just downloaded and installed it.NHancer wont run with it but you are able to select settings ok through the Nvidia Advanced control panel, also you need to select AA in the FS Display settings tab to avoid "jaggies".First impressions are good, you actually get a rotating plane in the selection screen when selecting AA above 4 and for the first time in ages horizontal lines are not "running", ie taxi lines at airports.I am going to test with a flight to se if any issues arise.JohnCore2 Duo 66002048 MB DDR160GB HDDNVidia 7950 512mbCH Products Yoke & PedalsHead TrackerRC4AShttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg
October 18, 200718 yr Can anyone help being able to use nVidias control panel global settings to control FS9 and FSX?I'm currently using 162.18 and nHancer with selfmade profiles.I'd like to not have to use nHancer and not use profiles, and just change global properties as I play to test impact on framerate.Do the newest drivers allow for that or can you suggest another way? October 18, 200718 yr Author Well, am I right John in that you say we should turn ON the AA inside FS9.I thought that you were supposed to leave it OFF in the sim, but ON in the graphics card settings.you seem to be saying turn it ON in both of them.is this not making your card work twice as hard, which will impede performance ?Thanks.
