April 27, 200818 yr Hey fellow Pilots.I got a question for u all who uses a flightyoke.Seeing as there is multiple brands making these yokes for computer flying, i was simply wondering which is best, in terms of most for the buck.Should i go with SAITEK or something else? Please say what u think.Regards, Hendrix
April 27, 200818 yr I own both a CH Yoke and Saitek pro flight yoke system.I use the Saitek PFY as my main yoke for flying. That says enough I think. Both are about the same in terms of quality. The Saitek throttle set is the winner as the CH and Saitek are very close in price (maybe $40 more for the Saitek but you get the excellent throttle with it). Al Stiff
April 27, 200818 yr I only own the CH yoke, I am very happy with it except for one little minor thing, sometimes you get a sound like a poping spring so to speak when turning. But I have been told that is normal, and It hasnt caused me a problem since I had it, 2 years or so.Given the option today I would go with the saitek, the only reason I hadnt gone that route is because the saitek yoke wasnt availablke at the time, and Im not gonna purchase now until my ch yoke conks out on me, if it ever does :) The reason i would go for the saitek is because as stated above it has a nice throtttle quadrant with it, and what appears to be a chrono timer on the yoke. HOWEVER, I have no idea of the quality of the saitek yoke, so i would do some research as you are doing before purchasing it.Good luck on your purchase.P.S Once you go yoke, you never go back :) Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
April 27, 200818 yr I've been using CH Flight Sim Yoke intensively for about 5 or 6 years and I'm still very happy with it. I haven't tried the Saitek one, so hard to have an objective opinion.I don't like its look and the GA-like digital stopper (yes) since I fly pax jets usually. As for quality I also heard they are similar.I also have the CH Throttle Quadrant (modified by myself) and I'm happy too.>Once you go yoke, you never go backUnless you want to fly an airbus ;)Best regards,Rafal
April 27, 200818 yr >Unless you want to fly an airbus ;)Very Very true, Nice one. Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
April 28, 200818 yr I used a CH Yoke and Quadrant for years and have tried out the Saitek one at the FanCon last year. I'd give the Saitek a little nod up on the CH given the metal shaft and a little sturdier feel comparing the two. I've been flying with a PFC Cirrus II which is quite spendy but if you're in the market and can afford a little more than the CH/Saitek yoke give a good hard look at PFC's USB Yoke, it is considerably better "feeling" unit and if you are a pilot or are considering taking flying lessons the heavier, more realistic feel will be noticable comparing to the others. April 28, 200818 yr Commercial Member I have both and used both. I had the CH since 2003 and the moment I bought the Saitek I haven't looked back. I like it much better. The looks, the feel. Seems to operate smoother. I have two quads to run 747's. Definitely Saitek has edged out CH as the leader. April 28, 200818 yr Commercial Member Hello All...Grat to know... Saitek Yoke will probably be coming home shortly to replace my old and mistreated sidewinder FFB1, that suffers of precision issues and you can-t let go the controls even after trimming....(it has no centering as it is FFB, even if I added rubber bandds to hold it stright...)Anyway, if you go for a yoke you better have rudder pedals as Z-axis for rudder twisting the yoke on it's vertiacl axis will not only look and feel ridiculous, but may be quite a challenge to build...I have apair of pedals adapted from Sidewinder pedals, not very fine for aircraft as they are car-style, but at least they work... plabnning to replace with Saitek pedals... once again, the affordable pedals are made by Saitek or CH... (thrustmaster made pedals a while ago too...)http://www.mario.wspilots.com/signature_forum.gifhttp://www.mariopilot.6x.to
