October 26, 200817 yr Fry's carries Saitek gear, but I would rather invest in CH after talking to a few friends of mine about it. Does anyone know of a consumer electronics chain that might carry them?I really really really don't want to mail order a yoke, pedals and throttle quad if I can buy them locally.
October 28, 200817 yr HelloI have both the CH yoke,Rudder pedals and the Quadrant and the Same setup by Saitek. The Saitek setup is much nicer in my opinion. The CH throttle Quadrant is very poor quality compared to the Saitek units.

I've read similar reports about the Saitek. Mostly due to the notorious "dead zone" the yoke seems to have causing difficulties with flaring.
October 29, 200817 yr On-line mail order may be the only option for CH Products. I have the yoke and pedals, and the pedals are fine. The yoke is another matter, and I had to tear it apart and rebuild it to make it acceptable. You will find the plastic shaft and bushings makes for a very sticky elevator control, so flaring for landing with the stock CH Yoke is nearly impossible. Even lubricant didn't help.ArtBiostar TF560-A2+ | Athlon 64X2-6000+ | 4GB PC2-6400 RAM | Geforce 8800GTS-320MB | 500W PSU | 250GB HD | FSX(SP1-Acceleration) | UTX | Audigy SE sound | Vista Home Premium 32 bit | CH Yoke (modified) & Pedals | Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick | 22" WS LCD monitor Art

There was a post on here earlier about them, which made me think twice about Saitek and consider CH Products.Maybe it's just something associated with all standard yoke products?
October 30, 200817 yr I've never used any Saitek product, but I understand their yoke has a steel shaft and bearings for smoother operation. CH Products now has an "Eclipse" yoke with a steel shaft, but at a substantially higher price. What I've heard about the Saitek yoke involves driver problems, and I was unaware of a "dead zone" problem.ArtBiostar TF560-A2+ | Athlon 64X2-6000+ | 4GB PC2-6400 RAM | Geforce 8800GTS-320MB | 500W PSU | 250GB HD | FSX(SP1-Acceleration) | UTX | Audigy SE sound | Vista Home Premium 32 bit | CH Yoke (modified) & Pedals | Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick | 22" WS LCD monitor Art
November 11, 200817 yr Moderator After having CH gear for 13 years I've made the switch to Saitek. I have their Pro Yoke / throttle quadrant plus a second quadrant. I've kept my CH Pedals. The plastic shaft on the CH yoke made pitch control a real pain. In comparison the Saitek with its stainless steel shaft is a huge improvement. I lose a few buttons with the Saitek but not so many it's a problem. So I have a CH Yoke and Pro Throttle (both USB) to sell. Pity you're not in the UK but before you commit yourself to CH give some thought to Saitek. My opinion of their kit is radically different than before I tried it at a show in the UK at the weekend. There were far more sales of Saitek than CH. CH in my eyes have taken a step backwards with their new Eclipse yoke. Ray (Cheshire, England). November 11, 200817 yr Author Went to Fry's the other day and saw they had a CH Products throttle quad for $40 (last one, previously opened.. and I passed on it). They also had the Saitek yoke and foot pedals. If I decide to go Saitek on the yoke, does anyone have experience with using it in conjunction with the CH TQ or foot pedals? On a similar note, what's the verdict on the foot pedals from Saitek?
