For bwallis and anyone else who can't get this to work: go to Google Earth's website and make sure you have the latest version of Google Earth. I updated from version 3-point-something to 4.2 and now it works.---W

And on a different note, the latest version will also give you a planetarium mode which is fun to play around with.

I've notice that the service has been down for awhile, what give?Dave

Whoah, I was just checking Chicago out and stumbled upon Meigs. It's still there so when was the photos taken? The MSFS memories it brings back doing those approaches using key board only and the graphics of FS4! ;(

>we'll be starting to see actual google earth style satellite imagery for ground scenery.Actually, you can see that right now:http://sourceforge.net/projects/tileproxyA freeware (so far) beta project to import satellite photoscenery as you fly. Stunning results. NOT a finished product by any means. Great results, but hard to obtain them unless you're technically minded -- and willing to spend LOTS of time on technical, rather than flying.Dedicated forum on Avsim: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=284Some screenshots have been posted but have all expired. The effects are truly amazing.
