The speed increase alone makes me happy with it. Otherwise, it'll take a little getting used to,but I think I like it.KP

Ken,My browser stores the login cookie. I like the font, but I do not like the colors of the thread links. It is a a light purple/blue, and the unread threads have the same color as the read ones, or close enough I can't tell the difference.I am very happy with the speed :D

Yes it gets better, thank you for caringyou may also want to use a bold font like that :New Forums [View all]You will probably have noticed that we have the new forum system back online. We are running it to see if it will hold up under the strain. If so, the....Dominique

Certainly looks different! I miss that bar at the bottom that allowed you to quickly select which forum to go to, but other then that, they look not bad

a little more vertical spacing (1,5 instead of 1) between links of message would be welcome RE: New Forums, jon_151, Apr-13-03 11:41 AM, #1 RE: New Forums, crvm, Apr-13-03 11:56 AM, #2 RE: New Forums, Stratus_Fractus, Apr-13-03 12:19 PM, #3 It's a little tight right nowDominique

Hi Tom,Overall I really like the look and functionality, but I'd have to side with those who are not pleased with the font choice. For the record, I've got nearly perfect vision, and I have a hard time reading messages here. It's not the font size -- if anything, it's bigger than before -- it's the font face. It's very open and on a white background it causes more eyestrain to read. I find it isn't nearly as easy to scan topics with this font. Interestingly, as I'm typing this I notice that the "Original Message" header at the top of the compose message screen looks to be Arial and is a great deal easier for me to read. Also, I think it'd be a great help if the thread titles were bold, as it would make for a quicker scan down the main page. Just my thoughts. Congrats on getting it up and working! The new server is really a screamer.thanks,

"Collapse threads"?--M

Thanks MattRob

I think it's looking neat, but I'd really welcome bold typeface for subject titles-an alternative would be to leave out those rather distracting first few lines of body text, so you can get more posts on one page without using a smaller font. I know those lines give extra clues on the content, but other forums where they aren't being displayed do look a bit cleaner-and I for one don't miss them. Perhaps it could be made an option.Best, Martijn

I too like the layout and options of the new forum. But the colors are indeed hard on the ol eyes.Since the main point of the opening forum pages is to scan the topics, it'd be great if you could make those the main focus of the pages. Reducing their size to 10pt, but bolding them and changing their color to standard dark blue would drastically help offset them from the light colors of the page design. Here's an example:http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/2371.gifDon't you think it makes it easier? Maybe turn them a dark grey for the read topics would be a good choice as well. Thanks again for the new forum,Elrond

Okay, have removed the topic description text, which should speed things up a bit. I didn't like that either.

Elrond, as soon as the tech guys give me back my UID/PW (implying that they trust me again...), I will be working on some of that. I too rather dislike the color scheme. :)
