October 7, 200916 yr I'm sorry Guys, but I can not give you all my know-how like this...Ed and Bill certainly understand this. They often say things are possible without giving all the clues, which is, in my opinion, absolutely normal.Stay tuned, I will soon provide a (freeware) gauge for the Extra 300 that will demonstrate what I have done, without the source code of course.Eric My Web Site

October 8, 200916 yr Moderator LOLNot quite how I apply that standard, no. :(It's a pity that there are some folks who will take everything that's freely given here and in other developer forums, and rarely give anything in return.Edited to remove an unkind characterization: 10/15/2009 Fr. October 8, 200916 yr LOLNot quite how I apply that standard, no. :( I won't discuss what I do behind the scenes in my commercial gauges. wink.gifI'm all for discussing possibilities... but I won't give away what one might call trade secrets. wink.gif Gerry Howard
October 8, 200916 yr Commercial Member 'mgh', any quote taken out of context can be used to support pretty much any 'agenda' one might have. That topic was about using threads, which is quite a bit outside gauge programming in and of itself. This thread was started by others and information was freely given by those involved. This was posted by Eric: If someone is interested, I found the way to do the same in FS2004.That is a clear offering of 'how to', and after a few people actually requested how... I suggested it be posted here for all of those who had participated in this topic, not just a 'select few'.I have never offered the solution and then refused it like Eric just did in this thread. I have stated if things are possible, but never offered it up and then refused because it was being used commercially by myself. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69

October 8, 200916 yr Yet again, you see exactly what suits your 'agenda'. :(For qustions to clarify the point:Are you refusing to share your secrets? Are you refusing reasonably? Is he refusing to share his secrets? Is he refusing unreasonably? Gerry Howard

October 8, 200916 yr He offered the information, or had you missed that post?Offered? He said:If someone is interested, I found the way to do the same in FS2004.EricHe hasn't offered anything.Anyway, come on and answer my questions. I'll help by giving my answers:Yes No Yes No Tell us where yours differ so we can undersatand your view on this matter. Gerry Howard
October 8, 200916 yr Commercial Member Your questions are designed to elicit the responses you desire. Flawed argument process. The fact is, two people responded right after he posted asking for said information, so... it appears only you and he believe he didn't offer the information up.Now, how about you actually post on topic in this thread? October 8, 200916 yr Commercial Member Personally, I interpreted Eric's response as an offer.... but if you re-read, the wording can also be interpreted as a statement. However, it's not obvious that it is meant to be a statement so I guess I'll just have to go figure it out myself and then post the results here.-Dai
October 8, 200916 yr Thank you mgh, it seems that you are the only one who understood the way I wrote my posts. Some other people didn't understand (or didn't want to understand) that I was not offering my know-how, I was just saying that it is doable. IMHO, knowing that something is possible is a part of the solution. Bill reacted exactly the same way when I asked for the ability to get the GPS map image in order to integrate it in a gauge. Bill answered it was doable, but couldn't explain how because of copyright reasons that I fully understand and agree with.So can you explain me why I am called a mercenary when I do this?Don't lose your time answering this question, I really don't care what some people may think about me. I have enough supporters and friends who like my work and the way I share it. My Web Site
