April 8, 200917 yr Thats where it all goes wrong for me. The problem being is not knowing which sid is appropriate for the direction you are heading. That Bryan Schleipen
April 8, 200917 yr fltplan.com is one of the best.I concur, great stuff. Not only it shows what people are currently filing on a given route but also tells you what ATC is actually approving. Folks don't understand that you may come up with the greatest flight plan in the world but it may not get through FAA host computers for whatever reason. This program is mostly geared towards real GA pilots (you can specify what aircraft you are flying - anything from 172 to Citation X) but you can also use it for your simulation - it is free. If you are a real pilot this site will actually file your plan with the FAA. This website is now frequently mentioned by editors of the FLING magazine - they actually use it for their daily flying needs. Michael J.
April 9, 200917 yr I do know how to use fsbuild, thankyou. It has an autogenerate feature but it does not work, it is useless. Thats why I purchased it cos i'm lazy and have better things to do than build my own plan. I want it done for me. Thats why I paid good money for it. And, anyway, according to fsbuild there are NO stars for YBBN. Thats how good it is.autogenerate works fine for me in most cases (95% of the time). when making very long great circle hops i sometimes will come across a route that it seems like it can't find an efficient solution for, but usually if i give it a point or two to use and autogenerate the rest even that will work.YBBN has 14 STAR procedures on the dropdown for me. perhaps your navdata is out of date? there are updates available on the fsbuild site main page.cheers,-andy crosby
April 9, 200917 yr FS Navigator- simple and clear but yet powerful- has anything an FS fight planner should have- the navdata (AIRAC) is updatable every month- you've got all needed navigational information including lower and upper airways- you can watch multiplayer aircraft in real time (great for VATSIM flying)- with one click you can export your flightplans to FS9, PMDG, Level-D and FSInn formats- you can measure flight time and distance- it's all projected on a zoomable world map (including physical elements like rivers and mountain tops)- it works within FS (one click to open, one click to close)- doesn't hit FPS- and surely some more features I forgot to mention here :(Do you know if FSNavigator works in FSX under Vista?Cliff
April 9, 200917 yr anyone that has issues with fsbuild autogen should make sure they get the latest fsbuild version, and also the latest nav data from fsbuild.comever since everything has worked fine. i use it to plug in flightaware plans and tweak them and add the correct sid/stars. it does nat tracks perfectly too
