June 27, 200916 yr I just got this and am checking it out. It looks nice an all..But the flight dynamics maybe suspect. These are the numbers I have and they don't seem to apply with this aircraft.1. Cruise Flight : 23"MP 2400RPM at straight and level trim, it should yield 150mph (i.e. miles per hr not Kts)2. Slow Cruise: 21"MP 2400RPM at straight and level trim should yield 135mph (not kts)3. on Approach just after passing IAF Saying straight and level: 14"mp, 10deg flaps, 105mph (blue line).4. when the GS reaches half a bar width on the center, drop gear. It should descend and maintain the GS. (So all it requires is dropping the gear to initiate a descend on the GS and stay there).I am not able to achieve these flight dynamics. June 27, 200916 yr It seems very twitchy in Pitch.I installed it, but in my case none of the effects files installed. These files are missing:fx_navredcarenpa34fx_navgrecarenpa34fx_vclightpa34fx_vclightpa342fx_strobecarenpa34fx_strobecarenpa34fx_icelight_pa34fx_beaconpa34And their bitmaps (if any) are also missing. So instead of lights, I get squares where the missing effects should be. This is the second time I've installed a Carenado release with missing effects, so I don't quite know what is happening. I know the recently patched another product for the same issue.-JohnEdit: I emailed Carenado regarding this, and within five minutes they emailed the missing effects files. Great company, as always! Also I saw an earlier post which remarked on there only being a two blade prop in the preview pics. Both two blade and three blade versions are included.Regards,JohnOne final edit--the files Carenado sent still did not fix the issue. I opened each and found three files referenced bitmaps which were not installed.fx_Alabeo.bmp (fxbeaconpa34.bmp)fx_2car.bmp (fxnavgrecarenpa34.fx, fxnavredcarenpa34.fx)Fortunately an earlier FS9 Carenado product had installed them in the FS9 Effects/Texture folder. I would imagine some may have this issue, some might not depending on what prior FSX products have been installed by Carenado.
June 27, 200916 yr I just got it and it is nicely done. I like the authentic older looks! One thing I noticed right away (which may be fs limits) is that changing the prop control rpm does not change the sound-only the manifold...and the sound change that manifests is more typical for the prop change than the manifold change. I wish fs could get this sound right!<edit> You can secure a prop properly-I guess my joystick needed to be calibrated a little to get the full feather.... June 27, 200916 yr No 2D, I pass.'Tis a shame,The perspective from the virtual cockpit is perfect, and 2-d popup subpanels are available if you need them. -John

MannyManny I guess you are reading soemthing from Seneca I, I fly a real seneca II and let me tell you... 1- Takeoff 39 on the manifold watch your overboost dont exceed more than that otherwise the turbo will die2- Climb, it climbs with 35 on the manifold and 2500RPM after 4000FT try to reduce your fuel consumption to 16GPH and leave you cowl flaps open, this is of course if you are not flying on very low temps!3- Wrong again, It cruise at 30 of manifold, some people leave it at 2500 I preffer to go with the manual 2400RPM close your cowl flaps! and check cylinder temps!Hope this helps! June 27, 200916 yr It seems very twitchy in Pitch.I'm not sure how a real Seneca II would feel in pitch, I found the Seneca a bit twitchy too. I adjusted the pitch_stability in the flight tuning section of the aircraft.cfg as follows:pitch_stability = 5.0Seems to rotate nicely now--but again my tweak is hardly based on the judgment of a qualified Seneca pilot.Regards,John
June 28, 200916 yr Also, I can't locate the Master/Battery or the Alternators?Look to your left - on the driver's side door (except that being a Piper there isn't a door on that side :)
June 28, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member The visual model is fantastic. A bit too twitchy for me in flight though. The sounds are not well done. I used to be lucky enough to be a passenger on a number of occassions in a Seneca, and the sound isn't quite correctly put together at the various MP and RPM stages. Start-up and idle sounds are spot on. Maybe Christoffer Petersen will come up with something.

I am talking about Cruise, Slow Cruise and Approach to capture ILS from IAF and descend from FAF. I am not talking about Take off or Climbs. What do you think these numbers should be for all three (Cruise, Slow Cruise and Approach/Descend on ILS for Seneca II? Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
