You're right, it seems the same file, but it's not, the size is different. Same name though...try renaming it for now, maybe it works, I'm contacting Pete and ask him.Fede

These are the Version 1 files (which work quite well, by the way). Getting them installed was an issue for a lot of users since they are "split" Zip files. A single 464MB zipfile can be difficult to download so the zip file is "split" with each of the segments of the split Zip file having a different extension and the same size. WinZip creates the files with names like Data.z01, Data.z02 and so on. The last segment of the new Zip file will have the extension .zip. Don't try to open any of the files with the numbered extensions; WinZip won't recognize them as Zip files. Check here, for an extensive thread on installing Meatwater's Version 1 files: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...mp;hl=meatwater Version 2, which included some enhancements, was released in ten separate zip files which were easier to install.Claude

Regards,

Claude Franklin

How can they have the same filename? The filenames are in the link -- one ends "zip" and the other ends "z01". They download fine here with FireFox. I really cannot see any possible way they can have the same filename when they clearly refer to different files, with those exact names.I cannot do any more than I've done. The files are intact, they are correct, and they have those names, the ones in the Link. Something is going wrong on your PC, something renaming the files. That shouldn't be allowed.Pete

That's it, it's explorer! After reading your post I tried downloading with firefox, and it works. Same link with explorer will rename automatically the .z01 extension with .zip! So I think that renaming that file's extension when downloading (or after having downloaded) will solve this problem. Or use Firefox if you have it. Try and report here, please.Cheers,Fede

Can't connect to the server, I think it might be busy. I guess there where more people who needed this than I thought. Thanks Pete. You're a lifesaver!

I'm sorry, but this is the best we could do. I was the only one in the beta to have them, and Pete kindly gave us his net-space. If Avsim "lost" them, I really don't know how I can help you, I'm sorry.Hope you sort this out.CheersFede

Hi Folks this is not so much a plea for help as a question if anyone else has had problems with the split zip files from meatwater. I dont have Radar contact installed, just ordered it this morning, but was just reading and trying to download a few things and get it all prepared beforehand. Printed this subject plus the advace link page with other instalation sugestions tried them all and nothing seems to work. I have tried all the naming suggestions, well they come down properly named anyway, tried winzip, Jzip, Winrar, but no banana. So I was wondering if someone else achieved it some otherway, but i will keep perservering and if works, i will post in case someone else could use the info. I have also tried it on XP and Vista with no difference, last night i gave it to one of our IT boys to take home as he told me it would be a cinch, have it on a cd for you tomorrow he said, but he rang me late and he too was defeated. haha Pete

Fede80,Thanks for the answer. I'm just confuse because the file posted on this forum are the version 1. Meatwater created a version 2 and Avsim is missing (for now I hope) the 4 that I listed. If you were in the beta do you have the version 2 files or not. If not does somebody have them. I'm willing to host them if needed and I'm sure Avsim would be glad to have them back if then need them.I just can't believe nobody who ever use version 2 don't have a backup of them.Sincerely,Vaillant
