  1. Hello, I completed my first flight with fs2crew NGXu (another attempt ended up with a computer crash on approach). I noticed two things using SOP1 and I don't know if they are bugs or I'm making a mistake (I have been using FS2Crew since it's first release and purchased all the 737 products). The first issue is when I'm taxing to the runway the cabin crew does not let me know the cabin is secured. The FO warn me of the situation during the takeoff start. The second is with the transponder, despite asking for ASD-X (which should be default on in my opinion), I keep finding my transponder switched off.
  2. I get it Bryan. Thank you so much for helping me get through the checklist. I really enjoy and appreciate your work, I have been a customer since my purchase of the C182 product!
  3. Thank you, that did the trick. However the issue is EGT exceedance, oil pressure and oil temp failures take a little bit of time to become visible if the failures are random (non programmed). The starter are in cont. as the startup flow is over so I have to manually ship the start switches to off for the FO to do the Aborted Engine Start Checklist. Also, if the failure is on engine 2 because the startup process is over when the FO do the Aborted Engine Start Checklist he switches the start switch of eng.1 (the last engine started) despite the start lever of engine 2 being cutoff. Either I'm not seeing the failure early enough during the startup procedure (and I don't know how to identify properly and quickly the failure) or maybe the code could be updated. I'm thinking switching the start switches to off when the captain says Aborted engine start memory items and to be able to state which engine to complete the Aborted Engine Start Checklist when the CA announce the reason.
  4. Thank you so much for the prompt reply. Yes, the voice is AU. The start switches are in Continuous. As the copilot is done starting the engine (the flap__ progression is in the box) I tried the failure three times with EGT exceedance, oil temp, oil pressure (all of them with engine 1, so the last engine to start). Like I said the failure is active even before I start the engine but I think the symptoms are visible after the start, or I may be doing something wrong.
  5. Hello, I'm playing with the failures in the NGX. I setup an eng. 2 EGT exceedance or Oil Temp. Though the issue appears after engine start even though the failure is active before I start the engine. I announce the failure, then say "Aborted Engine Start Memory Items" to which the copilot reply a confirmation. I then say "Engine Start Lever Cutoff" and move the start lever to cutoff. The copilot says "Memory Item Complete" I reply by "Aborted Engine Start Checklist" my phrase is recognized but nothing else happen, the copilot is not completing the checklist or prompting anything. What am I doing wrong?
  6. Thank you for the answer. Jeremy Laporte
  7. Hello folks, Just a quick question. I have a few hundreds hours of flying the 737ngx with service base failures on and fs2crew. However, i never ever experienced a failure nor even needed to refill hydrolic fluids or fix anything. Am i doing something wrong? Does a sim crash reset the chances of failure? Thank you for your advices.
  8. Also note that most Delta 737 do not have logo lights in RL (or they are not replace. I believe only the two last 737 have them.
  9. Mark,I will answer your questions. You are right there is only two products at AoA that are monthly subscription fee: 737NGX linework and Aviator Pro. The linework haven't started, yesterday we got a 4 pages flow that was given as extra for linework that was quite nicely done. I do not know exactly when linework will start but the three month you get with the captain package will start when they start releasing videos or flight for this section.Aviator pro is on a completly different subject and have over 80 videos.Right now only part of the groundwork is completed. Flightwork will start after groundwork.Groundwork included so far:Lighting 18 minCaution & Warning 25 minEmergency Equipment 16 minFire Protection 30 minIce & Rain Protection 30 minGPWS 54 minThat is it for the released videos, people complain that the rate is too slow which is understandable because there is still a lot to cover. I personaly never saw something going that much in depth. It is not just info from the fcom, but also maintenance manuals and a bunch of other sources and the presentations make it clear to understand and remember. I took the 737NG CBT from Boeing and I'm learning a lot more from AoA than the CBT and my Fcom study. From personal interaction with Chris Palmer I can tell you that he is trying to improve the release rate. It is not easy to keep the motivation and energy to produce something when there is internal issues to solve and when customer are giving you a verbal beating every day but everybody paid for this training so he will deliver what he promised and he is doing his best to improve things.Like you said Groundwork and Flightwork are one time fee and even linework with the captain package is a three month subscription that is not renewed after that. So I decided to get the captain package and now that I paid my one time fee I'm just waiting for contents to be out. I don't feel ripped off by the fee because it was clear from the begining that the training was not complete (yes there was some miscommunication about it at first) and it is not complete by far. I'm eager to learn and I'm waiting for each new videos with excitement. I would like new videos more often but I'm not paying every month because I paid my fee and will get the whole package. I just need patience.
  10. Because Topcat is not a fuel planner. That will be done by PFPX and it will take into account the cost index. They are using for those calculation some specific tables from real world airlines. For what I know all the 737 NG version are going to be included on the first release of PFPX.About updating Topcat I know the developpers are not doing anything to it until the release of PFPX. If you have an issue the only things to do is submit a support ticket to them. I just can't wait for the release and it's frustrating me that they haven't given us a single update since Aug 2nd.
  11. The cabin is not an essential part of the flight, yeah it does add to the immersion but it does not do anything else and I'm sure that everything modeled in the cockpit is already enough work for any computers. What I would like to see is the abilty to change the cabin layout on the CDU: ability to define how many seat in first class, coach etc...
  12. Chris, It is my understanding that Andy got his refund correctly
  13. Andy, Even if I'm a strong AoA supporter I have to agree with your frustration.I'm not at all looking for a refund but looking at the situation from an external point of view. The 30 money back garantee is not very good customer service when you bought the product like me from day one and you spent your 30 days waiting for some content.Anyway just my 2 cents and I'm happy with the product and to wait for the rest of the training. But in somebody else shoes I don't think it's fair that AoA stick to their 30 days policies when they didn't stick to their release planning and therefore didn't fullfill customer expectation. Though I know Chris being an honest and fair man so maybe shout him an email to see if you can solve this privately with him.
  14. Maybe Chris would have done it but I wanted to inform people that have not purchased the 737 training yet that the second video will certainly be available tomorrow (Tuesday 27) or Wednesday if something happen last minute!
  15. Sadly no, According to staff info, it will be when it's ready!
  16. Actually the sentence is funny: "How long does it takes to orbit the sun in America"Well my guess is about 365 days and some minutes..."around the earth"The only things orbiting around the earth are the moon and artificial satellites...
  17. They stil have 1h30 min until it's Sunday for them ;)
  18. About subtitles. The team tried to add them directly to the movies but that effort didn't work so far. They didn't want to spend much time on trying to solve that issue as they are focussing on new videos production. So for now it will be scripts that are available in English, Spanish, French and I also hear German and Portugese. I know some of the translations are ready but things are too crazy for Chris right now to post them. But this is done so that the community can enjoy the knowledge they are delivering to a full extent and maybe subtiltles will be implemented in the future.
  19. Fully agree with Kenneth. Also those diagrams are originaly made for the video because it is easier to point stuff out of the diagrams than to do it with images straight from the simulator.
  20. Yeah Trevor, I do understand your point. But I just know they are not able to provide a schedule or anything yet. It is not because AoA doesn't want to (I'm sure they would like to release videos more often than they are doing right now). They just can't because they are putting in place the video production process. For example in the last update, Nick informed us that they have been working on a vector diagram of the whole cockpit do be able to use it in all the videos instead of just having to mark places in the actual FSX cockpit.Maybe they should have done this before the training start or something but everybody is making mistakes and they are trying to provide us (the flisghtsim community) with training and information to a level that was never done before. This diagram is one of the reasons the second video is taking some time to get out. And you can't really plan for it, just when they were making the video they relized that straight cockpit videos would not allow to do exactly what they wanted. So hence the creation of the diagram and delay in the training release. Now if they have given us a schedule everybody would be yelling at them asking "what's going o, you said you would release the video at that date and still nothing?!". By not giving any time frame AoA knows it frustrate people but it's does give them more room to tweak things around while at first they are going through every issues they can deal with. They did say that they are planning to be increasing the release rate in the future once issues are ironed out, though they did say to what frequency they are aiming for. About your analogy, I get your point and would love to have a schedule too, but as explained earlier this is not possible at the moment and movies are finish products that is why they can give you a specific show time. The 737 training is a work in progress and clearly stated as it. Hope what I'm saying does make sense, I'm not trying to argue with you at all just want to give an update for non customer that yes a schedule or knowing the release would be great but AoA is not currectly able to provide this information to anybody, as of now at least! Sincerely,Jeremy
  21. Trevor, This is because those updates are only update stating that they are working on the next video. This is no schedule at all so what would be the point for somebody who haven't purchase the training to get an update about that they are working on the next video. Once you pruchase the training you get the video that are out and are kept in the loopon what they are working on but not when things will be release because they don't master all the variables of their production process. Though I do understand your question and you got a valid point in the fact that people who haven't purchase the training should know more about what they get for their money.
  22. Actualy, Ohsirus, this is their job (At least for Chris). But it does take some time to get whole team (for some of them it might not be their RL job) organize and efficiant at producing the video for the training. It's a lot more work than producing a video for Av pro. Jeremy
  23. Just an engine that is throwing a tantrum at you. Do a walk around and you have the choice between kicking the engine or using sweet talk. Sorry couldn't resist. Thank you for posting that so because it will certainly happen to me one day and now I know what to do with FSUIPC.
  24. Jack Thank you for the answer. Do you know why Ryan chose flap 5 for the tutorial then. He said he used Topcat but for me the software is recommending flap 1.Also how do you choose the derate climb is it the same as for TO with ACARS?
