July 18, 200916 yr Hi there, first post so bare with me Basicaly, my computer suffered a hideous faliure a few weeks ago. Fortunatley my new one got here a few days ago, and I am now ready to re-install FSX, which I am ready to do. (I am also lucky enough to have my RAM boosted from 2gb to 4gb, which should help my frame rates enourmously because even at 2gb they were herrendous ). I am unfortunatley heartbroken that I have lost 2 years work of modding FSX, including Ultimate traffic and scenery (I didn't have too many add on aircraft as they didn't work with DX10 - which i needed to get my framerates up!). Unfortunatley, due to the time that has passed since purchase, I am unable to re-download theese packages and this is really dissapointing me about Ultimate Traffic. So after that long intro, heres my question. I don't want to pay for Ultimate Traffic again and I dont really want payware again. So the obvious option would be WorldOfAi right? Firstly, I dont know if they are DX 10 compatiable, and secondly I just don't have time to download all the ones I want (2 at a time due to the tragic avsim hack) and Install them. Can say all the Europe packages be downloaded at once? Are there any WorldofAi packages zipped up and ready to go? If not, I would be more than happy with a series of repaints that simply replaced the default textures, this was done in FS9 with 747 and the 737 as I remember using the Virgin Express 737 all the time. Does such a package exist for FSX. Finaly, I remember there being a freeware AI package, with loads of airlines (albeit with generic flight plans but this was ok!) that I think i may have got from simviation but possibly avsim, which contained lots of aircraft that when parked, had baggage carts and catering trucks come to their doors? does this ring a bell? Is it available for FSX in DX10?. I really appriecate your time in helping me with this problem. Cheers Scott
July 18, 200916 yr Just my thoughtsSorry about your old computer. Congrats on your new one. While you need 4GB of ram, don't expect "enormous" fps boost. That is more about CPU.I don't use any addons, but I'm supprised about UT.WOAI are FS9 planes and FPs, so no good for DX10. Repaints are out there for default planes. That is what I have done. In that case, jetways and baggage trucks will come to your planes.I hope DX10 works as well on your new computer as it did on your old. DX10 is not good for me.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
July 18, 200916 yr Moderator Well Scott - my initial reaction to your plight is - if you need DX10 to get *better* framerates, there is something seriously amiss with your system. Since you're starting from scratch, which is always a good thing - follow this guide to the letter - http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Ya...?num=1208959973. Get your system tweaked and in balance with your new hardware and THEN start adding whatever.I think you'll find that DX10 will not work as well as dx9 and you will be able to use WOAI with ease.FSX was not designed to use DX10 efficiently - just as a sampler - running it all the time is not in your best interests, IMHO.Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
July 19, 200916 yr Commercial Member Ultimate Traffic is a Flight 1 product. You shouldn't need to buy it again.Just re-download it off the Flight1 site and get a new Key from the Flight1 Customer Service Page. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
July 19, 200916 yr Author Hi, thanks for all your replies, But I am repairing not replacing My computer.Having said that I will try to follow the fixes you have given me.As for re-downloading, the thing that caused my comp crash was the hacking of my old hotmail account, which I can no longer acess obviously. Unfortuantley all my account details, and as this is surely the email my key will be sent to, I'm not sure this would work.Is there definitley no way of downloading lots of WorldofAI packages together? Thanks for all your help, I really aprieciate it.

July 20, 200916 yr Author Hello All, ITS HERE :D Am just about to install FSX again, and can't wait to follow your advice :) An interesting note, before - (when my RAM was 2GB) I had a Vista RAM rating of 5.3. Now I have 4GB, the RAM rating is 4.6. Is this normal? I know you aren
July 22, 200916 yr Scott,I don't mean to be mean, but you are making a lot of assumptions here.1. If you bought if from flight1, they'll be happy to help you get your stuff again. I've changed email addresses several times and they've helped me out every time. I love working with them and go their first for all my purchases because of their customer service. They will work with you immediately2. There are plenty of Vista experts here, and some Windows 7 experts now, too.To answer your question, I'm not a Vista expert, but, yes, that is a common issue that performance can drop if a system is not set up properly. We'll need a lot more information to figure out why, however. What are the configurations of your old and new systems?Processor, motherboard, specifications of your ram, video card and memory on board, setup specs (did you overclock? If so, what specs?), sound card, hard drive makes and types and setup (i.e. RAID, etc.).There are infinite combinations of this stuff, many of which don't like to work together. Tom Perry
July 22, 200916 yr Yes, I had to go through this recently when my main hard drive tanked, and discovered that even having backups doesn't work, as while the files are there, none of the registration and licensing stuff moves over so it's a fresh install no matter what by the time you're done restoring from backups, just because the hardware identifiers have changed.I had no problem from Flight1 or anyone - PMDG was even quite understanding and allowed me to redownload my MD-11 for which I had a corrupted copy, HiFi Sim just reset my key. This said, at the very least save a copy of your installers and license keys somewhere safe.I think so long as you don't ask for new licenses every two days, have proof of payment and receipts, there is usually no issue because hardware changes do happen. You may have to send an e-mail to the support areas as the automated online systems may not have the understanding necessary...Regards,
