It's not that the MD11 has bad performance. Anyone who thinks so has obviously never seen an Airbus product. It is thought the MD11 didn't sell well because it fell short of the ADVERTISED range performance. MD tried very hard to overcome the range issues. Most noticeable to the pilot is the much smaller horizontal stabilizer which led them to create LSAS. There are other small things too; the exhaust cones were redesigned, and I believe the drooping ailerons were also parts of a 3 phase program to improve fuel efficiency. In the end, MD couldn't deliver the range, and sales suffered.Paul

Markus,have a nice happy new year.sorry that you re not happy about what i ve wrote but this is what i can see .... if i compare with datas in 1994 and the one in 2006 seems that some modifications has been made to reach the goals sold to ops. (at least from the real performanace datas i have ..) and you re right before the 777F came in service the md11F was in huge demand but firstly because its cheaper to operate than classic 747 or even 744F (luckily for ops Freighter dont needs EROPS requirments). of course 744F is a little better on that side if you compare with the MD11F no needs for a long reader that there is a problem after 3500 nm with huge payload for md11F. you have to choose between fuel or payload ...so this is not a bad aircraft but not the best one on perfs side. period too.phil

Can FSBUILD create flightplans for the PMDG MD-11? I don't see that particular aircraft listed on the FSBUILD website.
