September 16, 200916 yr I've searched the forum (although I'm not too good at it!) but couldn't find anything to help with a strange FS9.1 problem. One of my airports, Liverpool, UK (EGGP) has disappeared. It is a pure stock airport, I don't even have an AFCAD for it.If I fly to the area I can see the flattened tiles where it should be but there is nothing else. It seems to me that the bgl file for the airport has become corrupted but my problem is which one? I know some of you understand the numbering/allocation of these files so wondered whether you could advise me please? Thanks.Iain Smith

September 16, 200916 yr I have a memory the size of the Pacific Ocean :( :( :( Actually it is quite easy to find this info.First, load up the default airport in Afcad2.21. Then look in file>properties and at the bottom of the dialog box it tells you what file the info came from and it's location.Second, open this file - http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...&CatID=root and search for (Ctrl + F) the file in question. don't forget to change the search options to Within: Workbook. This will show you where the file is located on the FS9 discs.Third, keep this page bookmarked for reference - http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1241545570There you have it, all my little secrets. Actually I learned how to do this mostly from David "Opa" Marshall, one of the best FS information resources around.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
September 16, 200916 yr Some add-on sceneries change the AP default files, each which covers a tile area with several airports and may not have that in its overwrite. Others have an incorrect exclude file or statement even if they are quite a distance away. See if the date of the AP file has changed and it is a different version. The excellent replies here will lead you to the file name. If this is not the case and this is a recent instance in scenery settings disable any recent add-on scenery to see if it is an exclude issue. If AFCAD can't find the stock layer then something is incorrect in the AP bgl file or it is missing for that area tile and you need to follow the other replies here to get the AP tile number to replace it.Here is the EGGP stock file path for FS9:Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\EURW\scenery\AP947130.BGL I've searched the forum (although I'm not too good at it!) but couldn't find anything to help with a strange FS9.1 problem. September 17, 200916 yr Afcad2.21 did not list it at all so that avenue was closed to me.In this case, a useful tool is LWMviewer- http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=41170If you have lat/lon you can "open by Coords..." and it will show you all the default scenery files used for that location.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.

The last version1 and also version2 are here:http://www.jimkeir.co.uk/FlightSim/LWMViewer.htmlversion2 might have some problems on some systems (not really supported any more) but it provides much more info as it will show all addons as well, if they are FS9 style terrain, airports, or objects. You can search by airport without knowing any coordinates. Here's an example:scott s..
